TV wallah's idea of women empowerment is marriage, sindoor, Mangalsutra. And a bit of work from home or dabbling in social work after marriage.
It is so stupid that an educated girl like Nitya was not shown doing a part time job at some decent place and was only shown at some club.

I would say Pallavi in KGGK and Isha in Kusum were better vamps because they were self made rich women who became wealthy on their own, and did not just cash on another man's wealth and power unlike Sakshi who is nothing more than "Mrs Goenka".

According to the daily soap makers
every girl is born just to get married ,she is incomplete without Shaadi ka joda ,Sindoor and Mangalsutra
after the wedding girl's life is blessed.
her duty is only to keep the family happy.
she would sacrifice everything for this
her education ,career ,self respect
she may even sacrificed her life
after all every bhartiy naari is mahaan tyag ki devi
who can do anything for Pati Parmeshwar😡

@dey working woman post marriage don't discount Sandhya from DABH.Though she becomes IPS because of her husband's support. For all its faults and for all the criticism I have for it one thing I have to say the male lead of DABH Sooraj someone who lacks formal education has something which the heroes of many high profile families which are called business has. That is called Common Sense😆😆
One of the key reasons I still stick to the show. Pure love story which started with a theme and still sticks to the theme.
EHT had much more potential than that. Hope CVs make it more racy with the suspense added. I am a romantic lover, but even with that I cant watch mindless romance which deviate from the theme and I hate unnecessary love triangles.
I want atleast one person to go in this track. pandit or Karan. Without that it will become boring.

If Durga actually marries Shuraya SP will finally have crossed all boundaries.

Regardless of their mental state no woman would ever willingly marry their sister's rapist. Unless she was a cold, stone - hearted sociopath; which Durga is not.
What would producers be trying to achieve?! Make us believe that within the so-called 'sanctuary of marriage' all manner of crap comes up smelling of roses?!
Dursha engagement I can understand; as imo I thought the track would lead to it. Why else would CV's show Durga trying to entice Shuraya from the very first epi? They wanted to show the 'honey trap' to end all honey traps.
There were other ways for Durga to get close to the Goenkas; for example they could show her befriending Kangana and worming her way into their lives in that manner. But no they wanted to show Durga playing Shuraya and manipulating him to destroy everything, and everyone around him.
And how long was a predator like Shuraya going to allow Durga to string him along without some incentive? Best case scenario for Durga was that Shuraya would get bored and ditch her stating that she wasn't worthy of his interest. Worst case and most likely scenario would be him losing patience and raping her.
Engagement stays Shuraya's hand for the short-term. He has more time and opportunity to get close to her and win his bet without using force. At this stage I think Shuraya would rather Durga sleep with him willingly so he can retain his 'Ultimate Playboy' tag and image. Plus according to his sick mind if she does he will have far more satisfaction when he dumps her.
Durga too has benefits as now she has the right to move more freely around Goenka house and workplaces, she has more right to dig into their past, and most importantly she finally has the right to have say in their matters.
I don't want Durga marrying anyone most especially Shuraya but I don't mind watching her turn the Saas Bahu stereotype on its head by using her engagement for revenge; to actually gain well revenge.
If Durga uses her engagement as a Devils Advocate type deal with Shuraya I'll keep watching. On the other hand if its a prelude to a whole 'Shuraya Redemption and Reforming' track I will stop watching and I'll doubt I'll be the only one.

@ Shruti: and exactly how many days, months or years did Sandhya take to become IPS? Overall, the concept of DABH is good but its definitely not logical. I would love to have a husband like Sooraj but I know I can't have one.😆
Lets talk about Balika Vadhu. They show a divorcee girl trying to make her place. Then she gets educated , becomes sarpanch and then one fine day she re marries a collector. Aur fir kya hua ? She has accustomed herself to serve teas and samosas to her in- laws. Although, she occasionally goes out for social service but she definitely has no identity of her own. As Atominis has pointed out, women no matter how strong they are like Durga or Sakshi are dependent upon men like Dayal or Rajnath.

In another series called Uttaran, A poor child desires to become 'bada aadmi' , One who is not arrested or harassed by the Police. Later all bada kaam she could do is marrying a 'thakur'

Then there are ample of such examples. My question is why cannot they show that a woman carries on with her job? Why pallus still describe respect for your in-laws ? I understand the difference between fact and fiction but women are not showpieces. They are important members of the socirty and responsible and revenue earning citizens of the country. Show sensical things. I loved YHM actually. How Ishita's mother said her daughter should be free to work as a dentist after marriage and the Bhallas should also allow her to anything that her profession demands. Now, that is called motherhood.
