I have appreciated Dev's good qualities often. More so in contrast to Shaurya and how money did not corrupt him.
But I am not the one to get moony-eyed or excited at prospect of any male joining the show and paired with heroine. Unless the character is justified and fits story.
Here are my unexplained issues and unanswered questions about Mr Dev Goenka, jiske seene mein dard hai:
1) How come his account was hacked and he did not know?
2) How come he was unaware of Payal rape case? I mean details. Case was high profile and must have been covered by media. News must be there online. Details of cases and judgements are also available on legal websites online like Indiakanoon etc. He was away in US but did have internet no? Why did he not keep abreast of details via internet?
8 years ago in real life, Jessica Lall and Priyadarshini Mattoo cases were reopened thanks to petitions and campaigns started online by teenaged college students. So why did this man not use internet 2 years ago?
3) Everyone used to have multiple accounts two years ago across Yahoo, MSN, GTalk, Orkut, Twitter, Facebook etc. How come Nitya and Dev did not contact each other or keep in touch via any other medium? And only one email was be all and end all?
Did someone hack all of Dev's accounts and add Nitya in block list and he didn't even know?
4) How come Rajnath was able to keep him in US for 2 years but not now? Why did Dev not try harder to get visa problems sorted?
5) Why does he remain silent when Goenkas are rude to him and his mother Suchitra? How is he clueless about rude treatment meted out to his mother?
6) Was he never aware of Shaurya's nature? Why did he never warn or even lightly hint Nitya and Payal to stay away or be careful of Shaurya?
7) Why did he smile away and remain passive when Shaurya threatened him few weeks ago, admitted that he had broken legs of his friend in college over a girl?
8) He was threatened by Shaurya and EBed by Rajnath. He claimed he knew what kind of man Rajnath was. Then why does he still wonder who could be behind his accident and this shooting? No suspicion on prime accused and one who threatened him?😲
9) Why does Dev go only after Durga and seek Nitya's diary? Why did he never investigate within his home, family and Shaurya's friends who were accused?
10) Is it not naivete to discuss that rape case openly in malls, parks and cafe where anyone could overhear him? Is it not naivete to go alone without police, bodyguards or bullet proof jacket if you have received threats to life? (Please don't joke about the locket, dhaga or teeka, I am serious!)
11) Goenkas openly shout their plans and arguments in living room. Dev never overheard them or knew what was going on in house?😲
If Dev was so passionate then why is he still so passive? Why no doubt on family? Why he gives in to EB of Suchitra and Rajnath and stop? What was he doing for all those 2-3 years?
He sensed something odd in Durga's behaviour at Ganguly party. But never sensed odd behaviour of family?
He has a lot of explaining to do. Needs lot of background and step up. IMO he surely doesn't deserve to be handled all details on a platter and Durga reveal her identity to him so soon.
For now I see him only as a weak link whether for Durga or Goenkas.
