Agreed.😊
Dayal is highly educated, well travelled, well connected and rich. Yet he has a heart and class that Goenkas totally lack. None of his achievements have made him an egomaniac. Yes, because he is a product of middle class values and norms. His lifestyle is wealthy and elegant, but it's not over the top. He doesn't give lavish parties to prove who he is and what he's worth, too classy for that. He owns more books than all the Goenkas put together, not an accident. I like to think his occupation as a doctor makes him care for people more in general and not just his own patients. He is a man of compassion and mercy. And yes, none of his achievements made him an egomaniac because he realizes the power of the Almighty in giving him what he has. He feels it gives him the power to do good and he does it.Maybe deaths of Tara and Durga were also responsible in making him more sensitive. Absolutely. But a lesser man would have become bitter and wishing to make others pay for their happiness. The reactions of a man reveal his true nature. Look at the death of Arnab, it made absolutely no difference to Sakshi and Raj. Just made them aware that his only son holds fifty percent of stock in their company. That's what I call cutthroat. He has values. Yes, and he tries to pass them onto his adopted family. How caring he is towards girls he barely knows! He had a conscience which is why he helped Nitya and Payal to this extent. He is the one who served as moral check for revenge hungry Nitya too. He never reveled in observing scandals of others. I liked it when he wanted to leave watching CCTV footage from Raima's bedroom with Rajnath and her. He knows what it means to lose loved ones. And what I love about him is that even though his whole life revolves around these adopted children of a lower class family not known to him, he still misses his daughter and remembers her. I feel a part of him is guilty for their disagreement before she left for the US. It remains a door yet to be opened by the cvs. The heart knows no bounds. Just as it can love a pair of total strangers, it can also have room to mourn the death of another who wasnt. There is Rajnath who has a roving eye. That Ganguly who exploited poor student. Dayal too could have exploited this poor young girl but he did not! Dayal is cut from a different cloth than the other two. I have to say, at least Rajnath went after someone his own age and social strata as opposed to Ganguly who is the world class pervert. Not to mention he didn't have to force Raima into anything she didn't want. Rajnath isn't ugly on the outside that he would need to go after a girl half his age. Not to say he is an angel either.Dayal and Nitya, Payal are not real family. Yet they share such warmth. Rajnath is unaware of daughter's whereabouts whereas this man stays up waiting for daughter, feeds her when she is sick, cries with her, revels in joy with her, protects her, tends to her injuries. That is what it means to be a parent! 😊 Yeah but they sure do a convincing job in front of the Goenkas dont they? Because they may not be real, but they do love one another. Even Payal who is not herself, can feel that when she is around Dr. Thakur. The warmth is not feigned like the Goenkas who are soo concerned about their reputation and their son's. I like to say, the wealthy have real diamonds and pearls but no real heart. Did you see the look that Thakur gave Durga at the end like she should end her tirade and they should leave, she's hit her mark. That is the ideal communication of a real family. They should get Star Parivaar award for best father-daughter team.Dayal is also funding Durga but for right motive. Whereas Rajnath is funding Shaurya recklessly for worst purposes.😲 He is funding her as a father would. Rajnath is funding him to reflect his own position in society like the other social icons they are friends with.Dayal is a great example of a rich man who is cultured. He proved one does not become parent just by biologically giving birth! A mentor, guide, sounding board, confidante is what a parent is all about.❤️ Textbook example.I am glad this show kept balance and did not stereotype all rich. Dayal and now Dev are good, positive role models of rich and accomplished people.👍🏼 This show has done the right thing in bringing justice to human nature. There is good and bad on all levels of society, but in lower classes it's been more emphasized because of prejudice. Dayal is more the exception to the rule just as Dev is, he doesn't hide from the flaws he sees in others.I doubt if Goenkas even eat together or simply fume. I guess they just attend parties together! Parties are just like in Victorian times, they celebrate the ego of the rich who don't need to struggle and their temporary flights of fancy. Plus you get to see who is hiding their affairs from whom.
