A New Understanding

Throwing Shravan one last scowl, Suman turned on her heels and walked away from him, determined not to talk to him until he apologized to her. Her patience had reached its limit and she was determined not to let him know exactly how mad she was with him, all the while hoping that he would come after her. It was when she got to her car that her head dropped down in dejection; he was not going to follow.

She was so lost in her disappointment that she failed to notice that he was right behind her, following her home. She couldn't feel his gaze on her when she got out of her car and dragged herself to her room on heavy feet.

It was a cold winter night and to beat the chill Suman had pulled the heater close to her bed and had a thick comforter on top of it to keep her toasty. Dressed in warm pajamas, a full sleeve t-shirt and socks she picked the comforter, lied down on the bed and covered herself with it. As a chill went down her spine as her body came in contact with the warm blanket her thoughts drifted to what had happened an hour earlier.

*******
Suman was having a hectic day and on top of that one of her clients was troubling her by not paying her on time, so armed in her Sumo Wrestler mode she went to his office after making an appointment. She was in his office demanding he pay her when things went south. Suddenly, she was brushing off his unwanted advances when out of nowhere Shravan came in and slapped him and pulled Suman by her hand and out of the office.

"Shravan, mera haath chodo! She twisted her hand, trying to free herself from his grip.

"Shravan! she shouted again.

He pulled her and brought her in front of him. "Kya tha voh Sumo?!

"Mein handle kar rahi thi na, tumhe beech mein aane ki kya zaroorat thi?!

"Tum handle kar rahi thi?! Voh to dikh raha tha ki tum kitni aachi tarah se handle kar rahi. Agar mein nahi ata ro pata nahi kya hota! He continued shouting.

Suman had reached her the limit of her patience, her ire knowing no bounds when words left her mouth that pinched Shravan.

"Tum pichle 10 saal se yahan nahi the Shravan! Her words brought him to stand still.

"Pichle 10 saalo se mein aapna khyal khud rakh rahi hu. Aur yeh, pehla client nahi hai jisne aisi harkat karne ki koshish ki hai. By now Shravan's stomach had dropped, thinking about the other client who had behaved with his Sumo in such a manner.
"Pehle bhi handle karat ha, ab bhi handle kar leti. Dusro se help lene ki aadat ab nahi rahi, aapna kaam khud karna seekh gayi hun. 10 saal se kar rahi hun! Sumo went on but Shravan was still stuck on her confession.

"What do you mean, he isn't the first person? He interrupted her tirade.

"What? She asked in confusion.

"What do you mean, he isn't the first one to behave like that?! He asked again with barely restrained anger. Even the mere thought of somebody touching his Sumo, his woman the wrong way made his blood boil.

"It really doesn't matter! She replied, throwing her hands in the air in exasperation. "It was a long time ago and I handled it just like I was capable of handling it today! She screamed in frustration. Her day had been tiresome and with all the added drama her head had started to throb. Throwing one last scowl in his direction, Suman turned on her heels and walked away from him.

*******

Suman must have dozed off because she suddenly woke up to a tapping on her window. She quickly got out of the bed and to the window and opened it only to find him on the other side. Shravan.

"Kya kar rahe rho?!

"Tumhara dimaag toh theek hai? Thand dekho kitni ho rahi hai aur bhaisaab yahan macho man banne chale hai. Aandar aao jaldi. She kept on going, frantic with his presence so late at night and him not being dressed properly.

He quickly jumped inside and closed the window, walked towards her bed and sat on it, only to bring his hands closer to the heater to defrost them. "Tumhe mere thand mein rehne se itni fikar hai, par aaj jo hua tumhare saath? Mujhe bhi fikar thi. He grumbled. "Mujhe laga

"I don't give a damn! She rants, her anger rising once again. "These are two unrelated things and as to what happened earlier, I could've handled it! I was handling it! It is absolute bullshit if you think you can just barge in and take over. I was not going to let an idiot client get the better of me!

Falling silent, Suman ran her finger through her hair agitatedly, because she would never admit to Shravan that at that moment she was afraid of the exact same thing he was. Not that she wasn't grateful for his interference; she was. But still!

"Next time you

Stepping forward in the middle of her new rant, Shravan cupped her face in his strong tanned hands and kissed her deeply. "I love you, Sumo. He murmured when he pulled away, his voice strong with conviction, his eyes unwavering, pouring out all his love.

She didn't know if it was the way he said it, with so much conviction, like nothing else mattered to him or because it was the perfect thing to say to make her forget the last few hours. Either way, she was tired of shouting at him and just wanted to feel his arms around her.

Knowing exactly what she wanted, he pulled her into his arms and held her tight enough to let her know that she will always her safe with him. "I love you and I don't want to see any harm come to you because I would not be able to live with myself. He said softly.

With this new understanding, she hugged him back tightly, her head against his chest, his lips pressed to her neck, their hearts beating as one, they both let out a sigh, content with being wrapped in each other arms. Because for them, being with each other was heaven and they would never let their fights or egos rob them of this peace.
What else mattered; after-all?

When she walks away from you mad . . .

Follow her.

When she pushes or hits you . . .

Grab her and don't let go.

When she starts cussing at you . . .

Kiss her and tell her you love her.

The Elusive Mr. Momordica Charantia.

"Suman di."

"Yes Preeti?"

"This impossible man refuses to eat the khichdi you made!"

"I am recovering from chicken pox, not turning into a chicken!" Pushkar retorted "I will not eat bird food anymore!."

"Pushkar don't be a baby. Eat it." Suman lifted a spoonful towards his mouth.

"Sumo NO!"

While he was talking Suman pushed the spoon into his mouth. Smirking naughtily she ignored the death glare he shot as his tongue touched the bland stuff.

"Shravan bhaiya gave you the wrong name Sumo. You are a Supari Killer!"

On hearing her husband's name the naughty smile faltered from Suman's face.

"Feed the big baby of your husband Preeti. I will finish some pending work that needs to be taken care of before rest of family returns tomorrow."

She left the two arguing and stepped into the huge hall of the mansion. The quietness of the surrounding seemed to close in on her.

Suman shut her eyes as that one name came into her mind who she was determined not to think about.

Shravan.

A smiling face loomed into her inner vision as her eyelids closed.

"Oh Shravan. What am I going to do? How do I make you go away from my mind?"

It is just over 24 since he had left for a conference and she was already missing him like crazy.

No! She shook her head determinedly. The man has not even bothered to make one phone call since he left.

If he does not miss her then she certainly will not think about him!

Enough of calling his number only to hear the message number is not reachable.

The doorbell rang making her look at the time with a frown. It was almost 10 in the night. Who could it be visiting so late on a winter night?

Must be someone known if the security allowed him inside the gate.

No one was visible from the peephole on the door.

"Who is it?"

"Postman!" came the gruff voice.

Postman?? That too so late and why is he ringing the doorbell?

"Drop the post in the letter box!"

"It is a telegram!"

"A telegram?" She repeated stunned. "Who sends a telegram these days?"

"Mr. Momordica Charantia."

"Momo-what?"

"Careful with the name lady. It is for his wife Mrs. Momordica Charantia."

"Who are these Momo chomos??" She frowned "You have the wrong address."

"No Missy." The gruff voice said "Listen it is quite cold here. Will you open the door and take it?"

"No! You have the wrong address. Just go!"

"They live here. The man is a tall handsome man."

Once again that face she did not want to remember invaded her thought and she hissed irritated.

"Listen no handsome' Chinese momo's live here. Go away before I call the security."

"Momordica Charantia."

"Are you going or not?"

"His wife is said to be a wrestler."

"For the last time no handsome or wrestling Momo's live- Wrestler?"

"Spell it?" Suman said her heart thudding loudly all of a sudden.

"W-R-E-"

"No no. the momo chomo thing."

"It is dark outside lady. Have some pity. I tell you this man's wife has a bad temper. She will not like you not opening the door!"

A traitorous smile formed on her lips and she tried to erase it. She flung the door open- and a certain very tall man grinned at her, a hanky placed on his mouth.

"Will you take the message now lady?"

She nodded trying to hide her grin as she put her arms around him.

"Careful lady. I am a married man."

"Oh what a co incidence. I am a married woman too."

"Hmm." He said weapping his arms around the woman in front and lifted her up, bridal style for the moment unmindful of the chilly winter air around them.

Kicking the door shut with one feet he purposely strode in.

"Do you think what we are doing is inappropriate?" he winked at her.

"Depends. Who you might be now?"

"Ah! I am Mr. Momordica Charantia."

"The Elusive Moma Choma?"

"Huh ha. That is me." he laughed as he manoeuvred the door to the bedroom open.

"And the telegram?"

"Oh Yes. Pardon me for delaying it." He bent and kissed her cheek. "It is from my heart to yours" he whispered laying her down on the bed "And it says I love you."

"Are you sure it is for me? I am not this Mrs Momo chomo." She asked naughtily all her anger evaporated long back, as soon as she had flung the door open.

"Well you are my Sumo wrestler-" he trailed off laughing as his wife hit him playfully on his chest.

"Shravan!" she laughed as he captured both her hands in his and sat beside her on the bed, cuddling her. "Why could you not cut this Momo chomp chomp crap and just come in using your key?"

"Ha! Such a plain uneventful entry for the poor husband who has been traveling to and fro just to get back to his wife."

"But your conference was supposed to last a week."

"Let it." he shrugged "I am not staying away for that long from my cuddly doll."

Sumo giggled "Cuddly doll?"

A soft growling sound came and Sumo looked around in surprise "What is that?"

"Nothing." Shravan mumbled his face slightly flushed as the sound came again.

"Shravan it's coming from you!"

"Of course not!" he said as the sound came again and Sumo leaned towards him and gasped when she realised what was the sound.

"Shravan have you eaten anything whole day?" She whispered, though she already knew the answer.

"Stopping to eat would have meant not making our reconciliation tonight." He said softly as his eyes roamed the dear face in front of him.

She hugged him "I am so sorry for getting angry and fighting with you." she whispered. "I did not like the thought of us staying apart for so long."

"Me too." He kissed the top of her head.

"Sumo."

"Hmm?"

"Can I have something to eat?" he asked softly and his empty stomach growled again as if on cue.

"Of course! Silly me!"

"Hot soupy noddle?"

"Sure."

"With your special cheese garlic bread?"

She smiled and nodded.

"And-"

"-chilled coke!" she finished laughing. "I know your crazy winter combination Mr. Momo Chomo. What the hell does it mean though?"

"Karela." He laughed sneaking his hand around her waist as she walked towards the mini built in kitchenet in their bedroom.

She burst out laughing as she started making the food. "You are the craziest man my Kadwa Karela." She handed him a packet of chips to munch for the time being.

The cold winter night on the other side of their blissful haven continued to spread it's stingy fangs while the two people, their heart brimming with love, lovingly spooned food into each others mouth.

"Sumo?"

"Yes love?"

"You had also not eaten whole day had you?"

Startled at his words she looked away not answering.

"It is a good thing then I returned tonight." He whispered cupping her face between his long lean fingers. Then suddenly his eyes twinkling "Why are you so obsessed with me?"

"Shravan!" She lunged and promptly he grabbed her making him sit on his lap and both burst out laughing.

The warmth of winter

She closed the shutter of the window slowly making sure it wouldn't make any noise, but it clipped to it's side with a little thud which seemed a bit louder than usual because of the silence of this room. The chili night was enough to remind her those things that happened in past couple of hours. She sighed, and looking through the glass the world outside could easily be called a graveyard; calm, cold and lifeless as they were.

Her Shravan, lying on the bed, sleeping. He looked tired, bags under his eyes clearly announced those sleepless nights he had. Putting the shawl more securely around her, she walked towards the bed. It was one of those days when The Shravan Malhotra looked shabby with his unkempt hair, his untrimmed stubbly cheeks which seemed darker. Still looking at his face her heart did a backflip.
Putting all the effort to calming down her heart, she laced her fingers into his, and much to her surprise involuntarily he flexed his fingers to grab hers.

Suman smiled looking at their chained fingers. How perfect they were together. Like those were meant to be together.

Could a heart be stopped for once? Well, Suman's heart surely did.

"Sumo..." He mumbled. "Please don't leave me. Please." His little plea made her smile. Her chashmish could never change though he claimed to be a changed one many times.

These last three days had been Suman's worst days of her life. She knew her Shravan was broken. But the difference between what she knew and what she saw was inexpressible.

She winced as suddenly Shravan twisted her hand in his sleep. Muscles of her hand was still sore... a punishment she had from her chashmish.

She trekked towards his room when she heard a loud crash from inside, noise of splintering glasses, and a loud shrill rent the air.

Till now she wasn't in a state to think, she was just praying unto God, hoping not to see, what she hadn't dreamt in her most worst nightmares.

But!

The storm had passed, leaving its mark on each and every corner of this room.

"He isn't talking, or reacting Dr Khanna, we don't know what to do." Pushkar sighed heavily, both of them sitting on the couch of the living room.

"How many days it's been?"

"Two days. He eats if you feed him, he sleeps if you make him sleep, he sits if you make him sit. But his eyes are fixed, devoid of any emotion, he could listen to us, but somehow he has blocked all his emotions." Pushkar continued. She shuddered, what had they done, how selfish they all had been.

"Actually it starts when his mother..." Pushkar sighed. Next hour was not only difficult for pushkar but for her as well. The more pushkar elaborated the more she flinched. She was so occupied with other stuffs in her life that she completely overlooked the pain he was going through.

"Okay." Dr sighed, "I need to meet him. Let's see how he reacts."

"There he is." Only Suman accompanied Dr Khanna to Shravan's room. He was sitting on his bed, resting his head on the headboard. His eyes were fixed on something.

a wall clock.

"So Mr Malhotra, hello I am Dr Neel Khanna." Dr started in a very soothing voice.

"So how are you feeling now?" He continued while taking out a notepad and a pen from his bag.

"I am here for you. As we all know you are not feeling too well, you need a doctor to help you. So here I am to help. Well I am a psychiatrist. People say I am quite good at this. And I have heard you are good too. An Oxford return, established lawyer...but not having the luck to get love just fades everything out right?" He paused, "so first your mother, now you got to know about your father too. What a pity!"

He was looking at Shravan as he was choosing his next set of words very carefully, "oh I forgot, your Sumo too. Right?! She actually chose aditya over you. And what had he done, he tried to..."

"Get out..." A booming voice echoed through the room.

"Shravan..." She almost ran towards him gripping his shoulder, making a lame try to push him down the bed. He was already at the edge of the bed, looking at the doctor menacingly.

"I said get out."

"Really?" He mocked.

"I said get the hell outta here." Within a flash he grabbed the vase that sat nearby and threw aiming him.

"Oh my god... Shravan..." Ashamed, sh ran towards the doctor. Luckily it was a narrow escape. "You okay?" She asked the doctor while helping him to get up from the floor.

"Suman..." All she could hear and she was pulled aside by a strong hold as it got stronger. "You always care about others." She whimpered and tried to pull herself from his hold but stopped seeing the small hand gesture of the doctor.

"No Shravan..."

"Don't lie." He hissed. Up so close he looked like a beast. A wild mad beast.

"Why would I Shravan...why would I?" She somehow managed to mumbled.

"Hahahaha" he burst into laughter. "Oh god oh! Now that's what I call a joke."

"Trust me Shravan please."

"Prove it."

"Prove? H-How?" She stuttered.

He glided towards the window holding her, "jump."

"What?" She was taken aback.

"Jump I said."

She looked at the doctor whose eyes reflecting the same amount of horror as hers.

The floor in which they were was the third floor of the building. Even not the death but she would be crippled for rest of the life that was for sure.

Suddenly a small teenage voice full of promises crept through her mind "main tumhe kabhi girne nahin dunga. And she knew she had to do this. This was the only way she could reach out to her old chashmish. This was the only way she could plant the seeds of faith in him.

She stood there motionlessly for a minute. From the peripheral she could see the doctor silently was moving towards the door most probably getting a help.

"Okay." She sighed, she climbed the window, "but before I jump"
she said looking into the horizon, "one thing, that I want you to know. I love you Shravan. I always have. And if there is a life after this, then I'll keep loving you."

She closed her eyes, preparing herself for the worst. I love you my chashmish she murmured again, at least her chashmish would be aware.

Suddenly a pair of strong hands pulled her from behind and she landed crashing on his chest.

She barely could reach to the place where his heart was beating. "Maine kaha thana main tumhe kabhi girne nahin dunga." He whispered.

"Shravan?"! She breathed his name with wonder. Was this enough for him? Then sighed with a relief, her chashmish was still somewhere there who used to be happy with simpler things of life.

"Close the window Sumo, I am sick and tired of this winter. I can use some warmth."

There was no one to tell
And nowhere to hide

I kept the pain to myself
While a part of me died

The winter breeze was calming the way it flowed through the town making everyone shiver from the cold , a beautiful time of the year .People were bundled up with multiple layer of clothing and warm blankets .But there he was sitting in the chilly winter night all alone

After knowing the truth of his father ,bitter reality of his life , he lost two most precious person of his life... his mother..and he lost her ..

In spring they met unchained by the responsibilities and friendship blossomed , where their destiny was enterwined together

In summer they drew apart .Battle of outside entered their bubble .Egos , desire ,mangled in to their beautiful innocence

Now in winter the relation is unknown to him. The pain and agony freeeze his feeling completely

But still there she was standing behind him

"Shravan " ..He didn't turn around . She walked to him slowly . The tension in her heart is still there as when pushkar told him his sudden disapperance after knowing the truth.

Without thinking for minute she started searching for him

And after Two long hours of searching

And there he was ...

"Kya karu mein Tumhara shravan ".. she murmers to herself

"Aao baithoo " ..He tapped beside him

She sat beside him .. not saying a word
His words may sting but his silence is breaking her heart

...
...
...
...

"You can tell me earlier this suman " ..Finally he broke the silence

" Will u believe me " ..She asked softly

There was a complete silence for minute .No one dare to speak anything.

"I cant take this sumo !I cant " ..His words flowed like a cascade .The night was dark and the moon bright .The night was always on his side. The darkness of the night shadowed his tears and engulfed in itself his pain and fears. The moon was bright and light and She was like a moon in chilly winter night .

The Night and the moon had been teribly failing to name their relationship . At times the night pushed it away and at times pulled it close

"We can fix this , together ".. She murmered and keept her hand on him .The feeling of her hand on his made him squirm inwardly. The warmth beside him was so comforting that he searched for more .It was like a spark within him had been lit , for the warmth he was loving and he couldn't dare to keep away.

" Nahi suman...tumne dekhna na kitna hurt kiya maine .I didn't trust u , break our frienship but still u are here ...doesnt u hate me " ...He whispered and turned his face to hide his hurt and tears .The guilt of breaking everything between them corroding him from inside .

" I can never hate you . What you have done broke me completely but , I know you yourself is so broken ...Isliye bolo doge mere sath shravan ..Ek sath do tute dil ek dusre ko jod lenge ...Haina?? " she asked and extended her hand.

He looked into her eyes , he saw a sea of love, trust for him .But morever he saw the urge of protecting him from everything , including himself .He wanted her to answer but nothing come

"Let those tear fall shravan .Tell me you dont want me to leave .please become selfish for once in your life and I promise I will be with u "

"Bolo shravan "

Shravan close his eyes which stung with tears as he heard her words her confidence. He truly believes she deserved someone better and not broken .No not all broken like him someone more complete and happy and for that he was ready to do whatever it takes ..even sacrifice his own happiness

"It not going to happen " ..He shakes his head with glassy eyes.

There was silence as his words lingered in the air around them . She gasped as what he said sunk in ...

"This is what u want ?" ..She looked at him tears glistening her eyes.

"Yes ..I mean ..No ..I "... He struggled to find the right words .He knew how important his words are . Words did harm that even the sword would shy away to . But there he stood helpless unable to decide what exactly his heart want.

When she went away she took along a part of him and yet left him a part of himself that shinned with her in light.

She signed .He never had the right word ..for her .or didn't want to.

She stepped closer , placing her hand on his heart .

"I love you shravan " Her words travelled to him yet again in a whisper.

As those words hit him in a slow wave it sounded so natural and right .These words felt like the most integral part of their life .It felt like he already knew , even before she said it like it was the most obvious thing
Even as he felt the sense of rightness in those words .

He turned his head from her to hide the emotional turmoil he was going through . Only one thing is repeated in his mind over and over again

She loves him !! His sumo loves him

He felt like melting .The girl sitting infront of him was his everything. And the word she was speaking was giving him hope , that he lost but doubt and insecurity still lingered in his heart.

"But Why do u love u me ???? "...

She smiled.

"Shravan u know I dont love you .I never loved you ..I starting falling for your heart. That heart which is innocent and carving for love .I love your soul which makes u beautiful person .And I want you with your innocent heart and soul "

"Lets make it together Shravan"

He looked at her helplessly yet with flickering light of hope... "I suman ...I lov ..." His voice chocked

"You have dont have to Shravan ..Bas tum mera sath doo .Itna toh karo ge na dosti mein pyar mein " ..She said softly looking into his eyes .she knows that everything that was his was equally hers, his pain his hurt his troubles his fear.

He held her hand midway in air she looked at him baffled like always.

She smile and without another thought hugged him with all her might .It was his fear that confused him .He feared that light would burn him .His fear was understandable.
But did she deserve it?

He was startled at her sudden move .It was exactly what he needed at the moment .A reassuring hug .He hugged her back , wondering how she understood him so well .Maybe it was just him who never wanted to understand her .The rest could wait cause the moment was like an enchanted spell.

They smiled looking at each other.

Now the storm he had unleashed surrounds them but he is no longer the controller of wind .The mist of doubt and the chill of evil threaten to overpower the warmth left in their heart .Again they stand together with remain of their friendship. He trust her no longer but has no other route .Each is the other's only hope to survive through the winter.

So they stand , united against what threatened to freeze them.

Overlooked by them the winter is also where are seed are sown although friendship are lost they be re grown .Perhaps this winter among the darkest night .stars will light the skies.perhaps they would be more than bond by circumstances and perhaps the winter will be followed by spring.

She brokedown his walls
Without him noticing
And when she built the
Walls She added window to
Let the sunshine in

Shravan Malhotra gazed through the curtain less window of his cottage as the crisp white snow enveloped the ground in a sparkling immaculate sheet.

He breathed in deeply. Marital bliss, he thought to himself. He was yet to find it amidst the chaos of his life. Only two weeks after their court marriage, they were sent to a honeymoon to spend some quality time together.

They were ordinary people, she and he with simple dreams and desires, so why do they have to constantly fight with each other for each other, why do words always fall less when it comes to them?
He often asked himself where did it all went wrong with her, how do they begin to mend their broken relationship, why did everything had to be so difficult for them?

He closed his eyes for a moment only for her face to flash like lightening in his mind. For the first time in a very long time, her eyes shone with abundant happiness and a smile has erupted on her face. "...Aur agar tum nahi milte to tumhare aane ka intezar karti, jaise pichli bhar kiya tha, main tumhe akela nahi chodta."

His eyes sprung open as he saw the bathroom door open and saw her walk out. She came at a standstill as their eyes met momentarily before she lowered her gaze to the floor. She was dimly aware of him and the way he looked at her was so unnerving that she immediately slipped under the covers.

Weary of the journey, he also decided to give some rest to his aching body that sought solace in her little puffs of breath and her cold fingertips he never failed to caress before succumbing to sleep, since the day she has become his.

He never told her and he hoped she would never find out that he woke up in the middle of the night to make sure she wouldn't die of suffocation, he hadn't figured how but the comforter always made it to her face at some point in the night.

"Sumo." He murmurs softly only to be answered with the crackling sound of the chimney fire.
She laid on the far right side of the bed maintaining the distance between them with brio. Even when her back faced him, he could see right through her faade. Her supposedly sleeping form was shivering and trembling from the cold seeping through her clothes and he could hear the gentle shattering of her teeth, owing to the almost absolute silence in the room.

He raised himself on his forearms and tried to take a look at her but as always the comforter came in between. Breaking the silence that had settle into the room, he asked, "May I hold you?"
A whole minute passed and she didn't say anything. His back was hurting from the awkard position he was in, half-sitting, half-lying when wordlessly she shifted to make some room for him under the blanket.

Very gently, he joined her under the covers, at first hesitant to touch her, simply running his fingers through the dry way mess her hair had turn into after the shower. Mustering courage, he moved closer to her and wrapped his strong arms around the middle of her stomach and rubbed his hands over her arms, his feet resting over hers, to give her the much needed warmth.

Her arms were spouted with goosebumps and she felt slightly delirious and she wondered if it had to do with the cold or more because the front of his body was pressed against the back of hers. She had never been so close to him and now that he held her like this, she felt anchored, sheltered like never before.

His heart thudded loudly in his chest as his head bent forward to rest on her shoulder, his nose nuzzling her neck. He inhaled the scent of her. His heart brimmed with emotion as her tears fall on his fingers that were rubbing hers, dissolving the coldness of his heart into the zeal of love.
"Sumo. He spoke gently, his voice muffled against the skin of her neck. She bit the inner flesh of her cheek to stop the tears from flowing down her cheeks.

"Meri taraf dekho." He pleaded, his voice a mere whisper.

She turns around in his arms and their noses clash softly. He smiled fondly, hers was red and the tip of his had gone numb. Her eyes were cast down as her fingers unconsciously play with the white collar peeking out under his black sweater. Her small action somewhat eased the numbing hurt that was now a part of him.

He cupped her face into his palms, his thumb running back and forth on her cheek. She didn't flinch like he had expected her to, instead her fingers crept up to caress the skin of his palm as he kept gazing at her with all the love he possessed for her and only for her.

"Kya sab kuch pehle jaisa nahi hosakta?" He questioned her, his voice slightly quavering and his eyes glistening with hope, giving away all the fears he has encaged within himself.

Her own heart stopped beating for a second and for the first time in a very long time she could recognize the man she had fallen in love with, her Shravan. She wanted to lash out at him, to push him away, to humiliate him like he had done it so many times in the past but it took one tear to slip form the corner of his eyes and whatever flared in her is already softening.

As his gaze lowered and tears drenched his face, she realized that the man who laid by her side, who shared her bed as her husband was no saint, like her he had fumbled too many times with no hand coming to his aid, like her he had spent his whole life enduring being a burden but unlike her he could bow down in front of her, he had the ability to forgive and to ask for forgiveness.

She did not utter a word or even move a muscle but there was a faint indication of a nod and before he knew she had wrapped hers arms around his neck and placed her head on his head. She had forgiven him.

So when he closed the distance between their faces she let him, when he kissed her hand she let it, when he kissed her forehead she let him.

Under the blanket, Mr. Malhotra and Mrs. Malhotra whispered promises of love and togetherness no longer caring about the crackling fire or the tempestuous weather outside, basking in each other's proximity were worth all those apprehensions because they would weather this cold cruel winter together.

Heartbreak and Hot-chocolate

Suman Tiwari was walking down the narrow-cobbled path from Tesco to her tiny apartment. She rubbed her hands vigorously down her arms, pulled her purple woven beanie down snuggly against her head and trudged through the 5 inches snow that had fallen through the day. She hummed quietly a half-forgotten song and watched in mirth as her breath fogged up before her. There was just something magical about Winters. Not in a winter wonderland sort of way but in the way that everything was-quieter. And the quiet allowed the more significant matters to fill up space.

Like heartbreak.

She shook her head to get rid of the thought and pushed her head up, diverting her focus on the smoke from her breath. "Oomph!" and she landed on her butt. Great now her pants were probably wet from the snow.' "Hey look-" she exclaimed raising her eyes to meet the Giant Wall of a man that had bumped against her. "Tum?!"

"Tum?!"

They both shouted in unison before breaking into a laugh. He bends down to help her gather the supplies from the ground, two packets of instant Hot-chocolate mix and a cook book. Typical and Paradoxical Suman, like always.

Shravan raised his brow quizzically at her, "Hot chocolate?" she replied looking sheepishly.

'Hot chocolate?' two words written in plain blank ink across a beige piece of napkin was slid across his table. Shravan's head shot up to find the messenger and his eyes caught hold of her. Suman Tiwari. She smiled at him, bold eyes shining with mischief. And he responds by pushing out the chair in front of him and gesturing her over.

"Haan toh Miss Suman Tiwari, badi derr lag gayi haan bol ne mein..." He says instead of a greeting as she plops down in front of him with two cups of Hot chocolate and a single buttered croissant to share.

"You asked me out for coffee. Mujhe Hot chocolate zyaada pasand hai."

"Sure."

They walk in relative silence, the fresh snow crunching under their boots rhythmically, "So..." Shravan starts only to break the quiet. It wasn't the awkward kind of silence, it should have been, given that they were Ex's, "How have you been?"

"Culinary school is haaard!" She whines. "But Fun! Trying for the internship next month. Law?"

"Law is haaard too!" He mimics. "Internship is haaarder."

"Oh haan, Congrats on that. Sunna tumhe apni choice of ki firm mil gayi."

"Yup. Bernard and Smiths."

"Nice." She gives a curt response before pulling out her orange keychain and unlocking the door to her apartment.

The place was just as it was before, Shravan notices. The yellow coffee table had the same pink vase with the green ivy, the same cook books and the single blue coffee cup. The living room still smelt like cinnamon and desi ghee and the couch still housed the same set of cushions. It still felt like home.

Suman notices the nostalgia that crosses his face. "Sab waise ki waisa hi hai." She humors him 'Jaise tum chod ke gaye the' she leaves out. But she thinks that he must have gotten the hint. "With extra chocolate syrup?" she asks steering the conversation away. He gladly accepts with a nod.

Shravan walks over to the two-person wrought iron dining table. The same table where they once sat and broke each other's heart.

"Uncle mujhe pasand nahi karte." It was supposed to be a question, but Suman already knew the answer. It became a concrete statement instead.

Sharavan doesn't know how to answer her blatant words. How was one supposed to answer that anyway? Instead, he chooses to stare at the steaming cup before him, trying to memorize each grain of the cocoa powder sprinkled on the folds of whip cream.

Suman takes his silence as a sign to elaborate. "Aur meri family samajhti hai ki you're just a rich bad boy wanting to have your way with me..."

He lets out a humorless chuckle at that. Ofcourse they would think that, because he had face plastered on the tabloids that one time. But he wasn't going to call out on her family for being judgmental. He couldn't when his father looked down on Suman for wanting to be a Chef. A woman in a Man's world' He hypocritically told her when Shravan bought Suman to meet his father. "He doesn't want me to date you. It's his turn to be blunt now."

He doesn't approve. He finally manages to meet her teary gaze. He knows his eyes reflect the same pain as hers.

"Family first, right?" She says with a small sad smile.

"Family first." He confirms allowing the tears to flow. "He is all I have, you know." He defends his action.

Suman shakes her head, he doesn't need to defend herself. "I would never ask you too."

"I know."

"Can I convince him otherwise?" She gives one last try, one last kick to the surface before drowning.

"Can I convince your family otherwise?" He counters knowing that they were a lost cause. She raises her chin up, trying to take his decision with strength, indifference, and grace.

"Summers are meant for love and for leaving...And this is good bye Suman Tiwari" He kisses her one last time. He left his cup untouched and tasted the contents on her lips instead.

He is brought out of his trance with the small thud of the blue mugs hitting the table. "With a little peppermint just like you like it." She pushes a mug towards him.

"Tumhe yaad tha?" He smiles.

"Tumse juddi har baat mujhe yaad hai, Mr. Shravan Malhotra."

And things fall back to silence. She has her eyes trained on the window. Snow was falling in light sprinkles. He knew she liked the quiet. He didn't. Silence can be deafening.

Just like how it was now. "I left dad." He admits finally. He could acutely hear her gasp of surprise, he could hear how her heart stopped for a second. He saw the way her eyes widened in shock.

Suman was pretty sure she had heard him wrong! There was no other option. But the way he was staring at her, his eyes, they told her the truth. "Kya-KYU?"

And as soft and slow as the falling snow he whispers, "Because I love you."

"Shravan..." Her mind was reeling, her heart was racing.

"I love you." It's louder this time. More defiant. "And I know you left your family too. So, I am hoping that you love me too."

"What about Summer's meant for love and for leaving'?" She cries, unbelieving of what he might be proposing.

"It's winter Suman." He swipes his thumb against her tears, cradling her frame close to his.

"And what are winters meant for?" She whispers, almost convinced.

"Winters are meant for Hot Chocolate and new beginnings."

He left his cup untouched yet again. Hot chocolate always tasted better on her lips.

Love will remember Us

The coffee on the table was getting cold. The clock on the wall struck 12. She sat on the couch, her head rested on the wall behind her.

" Winter is about coffee for those not in love.
For me though, it is about You.
Your arms around me will keep me
warm in winters.

Just then a voice came over,

" You can go see him."

She opened her eyes to see a lady in whites smile at her. She nodded and got up from her seat.
Slowly, she took steps towards the door. With every step, her heart sank and as soon as she pushed opened the door, she felt the cold air hit her.
Stepping in, she walked towards the bed, where he was sleeping peacefully.

Life had never been fair to me. I never got the love I craved for. Everytime I saw people talking about Love, I loathed it. Why? Because, I never had a reason to feel it. Because, I didn't have it. I didn't have someone who would do everything for me. I didn't have someone to look after me. I didn't and I hated that feeling resting inside me.

Then, one day, I heard about this guy. This guy who was a rebel. He questioned everything around him and I could feel myself drawing towards his thoughts. He was very different from me yet so similar. I knew I had to meet this guy. I had to.

So, one fine day I did. I saw him and I instantly felt a part of me entangle itself to him. Ever heard of love at first sight? Well, it was that. It wasn't his eyes, his perfect handsome face or anything. It was his soul. That moment, I could tell I found my soul mate. Every cell in me was beating, my heart was steady, and I felt like I took birth that very moment. He, made me feel alive, again.

Everytime he looked me in the eye, I am sure he could see through my soul. Everytime we argued, Sparks flied. Everytime we agreed, we came a step closer.

We never became the best of friends, because friendship and Love was different for Us. We didn't believe in " Love is friendship ". We dated for a long time without holding hands, without hugs, without kisses. But, we did one thing, we held on to each other,we held on to what we felt for each other.

As time passed by, we grew old. But, our feelings stayed the same. And, one merry day, he told me what I had waited to hear, all my life.

Do you know the kind of Love which makes you feel blessed? The kind of Love which makes you selfish? The kind of Love which you want all for yourself? That was our kind of Love.
He, his love consumed me completely. Whatever I believed in, he made me question it. Whenever I would want to run away, he would stop me, hold me and then push me back to the darkest place and then pull me back to light. He, he made me feel emotions which I never thought existed. I started to believe that Love was meant for me too. He made me believe in magic. He, he made me feel like I was the only person who existed. I know,it sounds selfish, but, I always wanted that. I wanted someone whose world would revolve around me. And, he, he was that person for me. He made me believe that Love was eternal.

We got married years later. Family, friends, love, the picturesque life we always wanted. Our love grew stronger with time. As the years drifted away, we hardly exchanged words, our eyes did the talking.

I still remember his smile that can light up my mood. The smirk that can make me go weak on my knees. His eyes that could profess his love to me. He was in every way, the Man of my dreams. The Man I loved, the man I still love and the one I am going to Love forever. Well, I have some complaints though, we were supposed to go together, you know? We always planned journeys together. May be, he left before, to make reservations.

You, my darling husband, you are the best thing that happened to me in my whole life. I have known you for fifty-two long years and I want to know you more. I want this with you forever. You, Mr.Shravan Malhotra, you are the love of my life and I am not letting you go alone. I am coming with you. I, am going to hold your hand and we are going to do this together, like we promised, okay?

P.S. Forever, remember?

Always yours
Suman Malhotra
.

People wiped the tears as she folded the paper and put it in her pocket. She walked down the stairs and everyone started walking towards the cemetery. The priest did the necessary rituals and the coffins made their way inside the grave.

She stood there wondering what it meant. The letter her Grandma had written. She took it out from the pocket and looked down at the grave.

The tombstones had their names encrypted, "Mr.and Mrs.Shravan Malhotra"

"You Okay?" came a calm voice behind her.

She turned to see a charming young man looking at her with concern. She took a deep breath and nodded.

" Just wondering... How, she knew...how she knew that she was going to leave with him too...she went to see him at the hospital... She wrote the letter before hand...she... She left... " Her voice cracked and she fell on the lush green grass. Tears rolling from her eyes and her palm closed into a fist.

He quickly wrapped his arms around her and patted her head.

" Shhh...it is going to be okay...Shhh..."

" How could she...I..."
" That's love, may be...may be that is Love. When you know, it is the Right Time. "

His words stunned her. She pulled away from him and looked him in the eye.

" Dev..."

" Hmmm...yes, Dia..."

" She said that too."

She sat on the steel stool beside the bed and took his hand in hers. She rubbed it softly and looked at his face. He looked at peace. She could still see the lush black hair which was now all grey. The crease lines on his face which did not exist then. She wished she could see those eyes again, those brown eyes, where she always saw love for her.

"Rhymes and poems are for clichs my love,
We deserve something better.
We deserve something more.
We deserve forever."

His words ringed in her ear.

She got up, bent a little and gave a kiss on his forehead. Slowly, she moved near his ear and whispered, " It is time to go, it is time for Us to leave. It is the Right Time for Us... Let's go together on this new journey. Holding hands, like we promised. Forever, remember? "

"With the power bestowed upon me,I know declare you both Husband and Wife."
"You may now kiss the bride."

He looked down at her twinkling eyes and their entangled fingers. Bending a little, he kissed her forehead and whispered, "Forever, I promise."

She let the tears fall and nodded in agreement.

A Warm Winter

She watched as the flames flickered vigorously in the mini fireplace that sat regally in her living room, her espresso colored orbs shinned with golden- reddish fiery hues as the fire waves danced hastily around the wood before dying into ash.

She could feel the warmth slowly leaving her body making her cold once again, perhaps the hundredth time this day.The snow that covered most of the roads outside only worsened her day.Her eyes quickly darted towards the window thinking about her terrible day, watching the heap of snow that laid outside.

If it wasn't for her immense animosity for winter ,she would have peculiarly appreciated the beautiful white glittery dust sprinkled with moonlight.Alas, she despised winters partially because she hated the feeling of chills running along her whole body or the cold seeping in her bones making her nose redder than the Rudolph.A larger part of her hate towards this particular season was dominated by a certain someone.Shravan.

He loved winters for some absolutely anonymous reasons. She could almost see the teenage image of her childhood bestfriend luring her out in the snow to play with it,the very same who somehow loved her too in some way.He would tell her about his absolute love for snow in his colorful metaphorical words for hours.Quickly deciding against her better judgement and blatant hate for winter, she puts her coat on along with scarf and woolen beanie.

A gust of cold chilling brutal breeze greets her as she steps outside ,in the lawn, nipping lightly at her nose.A distinct yet blurry sound of Musical beats thumped wildly beneath her feet creating a ghostlike spectral effect. She felt like slowly drowning in the flurry upbeats of some mashup that weirdly felt more than just good.

"I thought you didn't like winters let alone cold wintery nights"
His deep callous voice starlet her, disturbing the melodious rhythm that surrounded her.She could hear the subtle amused undertone in his usual baritone voice but she dared not to turn around and look at him.

"I still don't"
Her voice revealed nothing of the tsunami that was building inside her.She knew he was back in town for almost two days that is the day when he came back.He would have smiled at her stubbornness if it was a different situation ,certainly in different dimension another universe.A certain bitterness in her tone definitely made him believe that she wasn't just talking about winter.

"Um Why are you out in cold ?"
He stuttered a bit, fumbling around his words ,finding it difficult to startup a conversation. There was a time when he could go on and on about anything ,everything with her.

"I thought I wouldn't see you for another 10 years"
She ignored his question. Her mind was going in frenzy imagining the possible scenarios of his sudden approach towards her.She lived on the thrive of confrontation while he would try to avoid them just like he did with his mother for 10 years. For him confrontations were like those exams that one could never achieve perfect score. It can only worsen the already bad situation.

"Imagine my surprise when Nirmala aunty called to tell that you've apologized to her for all those years and are now trying to mend your relations with her"
She continued ,when he didn't speak not that she was expecting him to.His eyes widened for a fraction of second before turning to their normal size, there wasn't a thing that was wrong in her statement however her mother and him were still a bit awkward around eachother ,tip toeing around the edges but the truth is to be told ,He found his mother a much more pleasant person than his father.

"I would never disappear like that again not that it was my choice earlier but I wouldn't repeat the same mistake again"
If there was one thing she could hear, was the determination in his voice that sounded awfully like a promise. He knew she wouldn't accept him open arms ,not after their last verbal fight when she decided to disclose the cruel truth about his parents.

"Yet you disappeared again albeit for a month"
She finally decided to stop the childish game of lingering around the main issues yet never discussing it,its always been like that ever since he came back from his 10 year vacation. She was tired of fumbling with misunderstanding. It was not his fault alone, surely she had her fair share of brash words and few below the belt insults but atleast she didn't run away from everything like him that was the thing she used to console herself with.

"I needed time to sort out myself ,it was all messed up.My emotions were all over the place that hatred was consuming me and I was afraid ,no, terrified of it,you didn't make it any easier for me.Lets face the fact ,there were already many misunderstandings between before the truth episode."
He felt breathless as she turned towards him, finally confessing his inner fears to her, coming out of the cage that had him trapped for 10 years. Her eyes was stuck on him,he could feel her burning gaze as he tried to focus on the snow beneath his feet.

"I.."
She skittered around her words only to come up with nothing though her mind was yet another story. Her eyes stinged with unshed tears unable to leave her eyes. There was a heap of misunderstandings between them before the truth episode as Shravan colorfully said.
"I want to start afresh ,not forgetting these few months but moving on from them ,cherishing those old memories and making new ones"
His hopeful undertone instilled a sense of direction in her.She wanted to start over as much as he did but not at the cost of her self respect, the same thing that he butchered. She was still not over her hurt ,anger and disappointment with him.

"I don't think I can move on from that phase ,Shravan"
Her voice reeked of desperation ,trying escape from all this ,she couldn't afford to be hurt once again, broken like a rag doll. His sleek raven orbs moved to hers,

"I'm not telling you to jump onto my bones right at this instant"
He tried to joke around before she passed her infamous killer glare that could even freeze fire.
"What I meant to say was you don't have to forgive me now neither I have to but we can start off with clearing old things and atleast form a friendship again"
She looked at him puzzled ,her soul refused to believe that this words were spoken by Mr. Shravan Malhotra. She liked this idea better than anything ,her heart wouldn't be on the risk of vulnerability again and he can surely find a closure.

"I thought you didn't care"

"If I didn't then I wouldn't be here"
Her eyes held hers as he spoke with nothing but truth in them.
"If I didn't then I wouldn't do this"

"What--"
Before She can complete her sentence ,a softest of touch pressed against her lips ,creating a buzzing feeling around her whole body. His lips felt extremely soft against hers. There was nothing like fireworks or butterflies apart from the fiery feeling in the pit of her stomach,it was just him and her ,nothing else"

He had never expected to meet her, at least not the way he did. It was a cold winter night in London and he was invited to his friend's wedding reception. He was a bit sceptical about going, he had had a long day at work since it was marking the end of the week and the pile of files on his office table had to be reduced, which meant a longer than usual day. He was exhausted but he had to go since he had missed the wedding itself, which took place in India and he could not go back there for fear of running in to her, unaware of what fate had planned.

Dressed in a black suit with a black shirt which fit his rather tall frame perfectly, Shravan Malhotra walked in the hall with a bouquet of flowers and a gift box in his hands. The hall was warm, a contrast to the cold outside. It had not yet started snowing, it was still December, and while it was chilly, the temperatures had not dropped so much that it could snow. Moreover, it had been years since it snowed in December anyway. It usually snowed, if it did, around Mid-January and February. Sometimes even in March. The weather in the UK was quite unpredictable. He smiled at the thought. Just like her. He groaned in frustration. Why could he not get her out of his mind even after all these years?

He shook his head, clearing them of all thoughts and looked around the hall which was impeccably decorated. He was late. The bride and groom were already present. A wistful smile appeared on his face and his heart clenched. He had always dreamt of this scenario, where he would be getting married to her. A small marriage ceremony and a grand reception afterward, that is how she would have liked it. He sighed to himself, giving up on berating himself. She refused to leave his mind.

He went on to the stage to congratulate the couple and apologise for his absence in the wedding as well as his delay today because of being held up at work. He smiled seeing them. Both were wearing colour coordinated clothes and had shy but happy smiles on their faces. It was when he was going to his table, his attention on his phone when he bumped in to someone.

"I'm so sor.." He started saying but stopped when he realised it was her, after all these years.

His heart stopped beating for a while as he took in her presence. He had never expected to see her, least of all places, here in London. What was she doing here, he wondered. He was awestruck. She looked beautiful. As always. Dressed in a mauve sari with little jewellery and makeup. Her long hair was left open with fringes framing her face. She had grown slightly taller and her eyes still had the glint of mischief. As he looked at her, his mind went back to 8 years ago.

They were best friends in secret. She used to avoid him in public, not wanting to be seen around him in fear of her friends mocking her as he was the nerd of the school. Regardless, he used to adore her. He loved spending time with her, being around her made him happy. He used to share his insecurities with her and she was his constant support. He used to revere her. When he fell for her, he never realised.

In the final year of school, when the incident had taken place; the incident that changed everything and made him look at every moment with her in a new light. And every moment he earlier thought as precious, turned out to be a mockery of him and his feelings.

Sumo on the other hand, had been walking backwards, talking to someone when she bumped in to him. She turned to apologise and her eyes widened in recognition.

Shravan, after all these years. She had hoped to meet him, but she had never expected to bump in to him. Literally. It was her cousin's wedding reception in London and her cousins had insisted she should go to London as well.

A small smile appeared on her face; reminiscing the good old days, remembering her chashmish. He had changed though. He no longer wore his glasses. And he was so tall, even with her heels, she barely reached his shoulders. She looked up at him, he had grown handsome over the years. His eyes looked as warm as they used to and he had a slight stubble which made him look very smart.

She had missed him, so much. The initial years were very difficult, especially since she felt responsible for his departure. She had mocked his feelings, used him to get her then boyfriend. She waited every year for him to comeback so that she could apologise but after the first couple of years, when he did not come for the holidays, she knew he won't come anytime soon.

She had never realised when she had fallen in love with him. And it was only after he left that she realised what she felt. By then, it was too late. She could not tell him this over phone or email or chat, thus had no contact with him at all.

They were a sight to see, mouths agape and eyes wide. For a while, everything was on hiatus for them. They were lost in each other's eyes.

"Shrav.." She tried talking to him but he walked off, outside the hall to his car which was parked a bit further.

"Shravan!" She came running after him. He halted while she came up to him. "I am sorry, she whispered. For a moment there was silence while he waited for her to say something more. But she was quiet.

"Sorry?! Is that it! You made a mockery of my feelings and you are sorry?! Nothing more to say?!" He was really hurt by her behaviour, it had created insecurities in him and for the longest time, he had a very low self-esteem.

"Tsk why am I even surprised! You have always been like that Suman Tiwari! I was just blind to not see it! You mocked me, played with my feelings. You used me to do your homework, asked for my help for the prom night. But who did you make your partner that night?! Your behaviour made me doubt myself for the longest time!" Anger laced his each word, all this while, his voice not more than a whisper.

"And you know what the worst part is, I still freaking LOVE YOU!!" He bellowed. A chill ran down her spine, she suddenly realised she only had her thin coat on her as a protection from the cold.

He walked away from her while she stood numb. That night had affected him more than she had comprehended. It had imbedded deep insecurities in him. His words still echoed in her mind "Love You! He still loved her despite the time and the distance, despite her actions. All was not lost. She could still win him back. She had been a fool then she thought as she ran after him, "SHRAVAN!

He turned to look at her and was taken aback when she flung herself at him and he had to hold her to protect them from falling. She looked in to his eyes and his lips and his eyes again, "I Love You, she whispered against his lips and she kissed him.

"KAAL SE..."

*Night, in the beach*

*whoosh and Slap* rang louder than the beach waves behind Shravan's beach house in Goa where he and Suman were forced to go for honeymoon. A shocked Shravan stood still with his face hanging on his side, while an enraged Suman was trying to clam herself from hitting Shravan again. Suman couldn't rap her head around the things Shravan was saying about her ego and Adithya, tears finally started to surface. "Baas...Bohath boliya Shravan Malhotra, bohath!!" Suman screamed through the heavy wind and waves making Shravan finally raised his head to an enraged Suman.

Suman looked like she was about to burst into flames, Shravan's shocked-confused look made her angrier. Without second thoughts Suman marched forward and caught Shravan's Shirt by its collar yanking him down a little "kya samajtha he apne apko...?" before she could scream more Shravan grabbed her shoulder making her to release her grip "Kyun? Kya galat bola maine?? Yehi toh sach hai?" Suman screamed "Nahi!!!Yeh sach nai hai!!" making Shravan to momentarily lose his grip on her but kept it firm. Shravan felt really nervous about asking the truth but he knew it was time they talked openly "Really!! toh sach kya hai Sumo!!! Mujhe jaana hai sumo...SACH KYA HAI
he spoke in a low but a strong voice...reflecting on the pain he has been feeling. Suman suddenly fell silent but tears were still washing her face, their eyes were intact on each other.

just as suman was about to break the eye contact, shravan pulled suman closer making her crash on his chestand inturn making her look at him. "Aaj nai...mujhe Jana hey...adj Sarre misunderstandingko clear karlenge??" Shravan spoke louder pressing suman.

Suman fell silent, she didn't know if this was how she wanted to clear all this...even though her heart wanted to scream out everything she held in her mind just wouldn't budge. Seeing a hesitant Suman, Shravan let go of her laughing insultingly "Mujhe pathatha...tumare ego tume kabhi kuch nai bolne dehge...tumare iss gamad..." Shravan's words were stabbing her hard...all the reasons that were stopping her vanished. Suman couldn't take in any longer and spoke cutting his words "...Tume sach jaana he??"... she asked with the same rage. Shravan's nervousness grew more he was gonna get his answers!"Haan...mujhe jaana hey"

Suman instantly grabbed his shirt again "MAIN TUMSE...AUR SIRF TUMSE PYAAR KARTHIHUN" She stressed every word making Shravan go numb from head to toe. A fresh set of tears started to flow from both Shravan and Suman...but both of them held their gazes over each other. After a few glass shattering silence, suman let go of shravans shirt in haste "Sun Shravan Malhotra"

suman defensively started pushing Shravan with every word she spoke "Haan! main tumse pyaar karthihun..." "sunliya!" "aaj se nai!" "kal se na!i" "bachpan se!" "Suman sirf Shravan se pyaar karthihe!" with the last strong push Shravan stumbled and fell down on the sand, dumbstruck with her confession. Suman finally tried to calm down by closing her eyes and taking long breathes...after a minute or so, Suman finally opened her eyes and looked at Shravan who was still in the ground lookingat her with varied expression.

She sighed and spoke with a heavy heart "per woh Shravan...tum nai ho..." Shravan looked at Suman with confusion but she continued "Agar tum mere Shravan hote...toh mere baare me kabhi itna gattiya nai soch sakthe..." failing to hold it anymore, Suman started crying her heart out, while Shravan was feeling a rage of happiness and guilt filling at the same time, Shravan didn't know what to say to her...his mind was blank...he just watched her.

Suman couldn't take it any longer, "Tum mere sharavan nai ho!!!" screaming which she dashed inside the house while Shravan remind on the ground while the waves hit him occasionally. His heart was aching...he made his Sumo cry! The one thing he never wanted to do...he did it. But his mind was clearing slowly but was soon crowed with so many questions...yeh sab kaise hogaya? Sumo mujhse pyaar karthi he? Maine uski baare mein aise kaise soch sakthihun? Yeh saab kya hogaya? Per? Dad ne toh...? Before he couldn't ponder on his last thought a huge scream interrupted his thoughts.

Shravan turned to see that the screams were coming from the house, his eyes popped with his mind now filled with one thought SUMAN' he instantly got up and dashed towards the house, "Suman!!!!" he screamed as soon as he entered the house, it was silent to his discomfort. "Shravan!!" a muffled screamed came from their room, he instantly leaped into his room...as soon as the door opened, and he saw Suman running towards him. Before he could register anything, Suman leeched onto Shravan stopping his breath. Shravan was dumbstruck by the gesture but quickly regained his conscious "Sumo...kya hua?? Tum chilla kyun rahiho??" he was worried and was trying to back her little to get his answer but Suman didn't budge in fact she didn't even open her. Shravan's blood was heating up, he placed his hand around her...hugging her back to calm her down and spoke softly "Sumo??? Kya hua??"

Suman didn't open her eyes, she just pointed into the room towards the wall...Shravan leaned harder to see inside and saw the cause of Suman's screams...he wanted to laugh but he knew that would just make matters worse...there were two lizards on the wall. His mind went to the small Suman who was afraid of it. Shravan smiled unknown to Suman who was still hugging him, Yeh toh meri Sumo he Papa!' he answered an unheard question in his mind.

30 minutes later,

Shravan and Suman moved into the room upstairs, since it was a room for single person...the bed was smaller. But Suman being Suman, she insisted on staying in the same room which didn't even have a couch, Suman slept on one corner of the bed...almost falling down on her edge. On the other side, Shravan laid awake on his side.

Shravan tilted his head to see Suman sleeping facing the other side; a small smile grew on his mouth. He knew he should feel guilty for hurting Suman for so long but he was happy that the girl of his dreams loves him back'. Suman turned in her sleep, landing her head near Shravan's broad shoulder, and so close to his face...he didn't release he stopped breathing until he decided to turn around to face her.

Shravan was now close to her, just like he always wanted and dreamt of. He slowly whispered "Don't worry Sumo!! Kaal se tum wahi Shravan, jisse tum pyaar karthiho, jisne humesha tumare khushi chathatha...wahi chaashmish wala Shravan dehkhoge..." he smiles moving few lose strand of hair hovering over her face. "I will right every wrong I did to you...tume pyaar karkar pakadunga...Mrs. Shravan Malhotra" he softly leaned towards her and placed a feathered kiss on her forehead. He smiled at the sleeping Suman and closed his eyes savouring the sight, but he failed to notice the small smile that slowly made its way on Suman's lip and whispered even lighted "KAAL SE"
