Really means a lot!
Secondly, would like to thank a very special friend of mine, who read this drabble and gave me the go ahead to post it, because quite honestly, I did not like it, I still think it's not some of my best work but after having someone's opinion on it, I don't think it's too bad😳 Also, I had not updated for ages, so I decided to go ahead.

Drabble 8: Sharing Sorrows
Suman Tiwari was gloomy since she woke up that morning. It was a bit later than usual and the other side of the bed was already empty. She recalled Shravan telling her the previous night that he had to go for an early morning meeting and that he had a few meetings lined up for the day, followed by a court hearing. She was a bit sad she could not wake up on time to wish him luck, not that he needed it since he was a very capable lawyer, but she liked wishing him. A small smile would appear on his face as she would wish him luck and kiss him on his cheek, and he would engulf her in his arms, hug her tightly and then peck her forehead, thereafter he would mock salute her; which was his way of telling her bye, wink and leave. It was a set routine.
However, she missed it today. He would always let her lie in whenever she would not be up by the time he would have to leave; knowing that she worked at the PCT and performed her daughter-in-law duties at the Malhotra Mansion in which he would help her in any way he could, unless she had commitments in the morning. He was the best life-partner she could ask for; Shravan Malhotra, her best friend, childhood love and now her husband.
As she thought of him, a small smile appeared on her face, but even that wasn't good enough to lift her spirits. She was really missing her parents for some reason today. It had been over 20 years since they had gone, left her alone. Tears trickled down her cheeks as she remembered some of her last moments with them and how much she missed them during special occasions in her life; her birthdays, her first day in primary school, her graduations, the day she actually got the idea to start up a tiffin Centre, the opening of PCT and her wedding day. She wiped the tears on her cheeks. And remembered the 2 pillars of strength she had; her Nanu who always supported her and guided her since her childhood and Shravan as she grew up. And she was even luckier to have him as her life-partner.
She was pulled out of her thoughts with the sound of her phone ringing. It was Preeta, asking her whether she should make the dessert for the tiffins or Suman would. Suman rushed to get ready to go to PCT quickly so that she could make the dessert for the day; moong daal ka halwa, Shravan's favourite. It was the norm for whenever he had a case hearing. She would not let her misery affect that.

Shravan Malhotra had had a long day. He had a few back to back meetings, from early in the morning, followed by a case hearing. He was exhausted to say the least. All he now wanted was to go home and spend some quality time with his wife, whom he hadn't spoken to since the previous night. When he woke up in the morning, she was asleep. He let her lie-in, knowing that she had no meeting to rush to. He smiled recalling how she was sprawled on the bed; her hair a mess strands falling on her face, deep in sleep. He shook himself out of his thoughts and started driving home. Fortunately, there was lesser traffic.
He walked in to the house, right in to the kitchen, knowing that's where she would be, cooking dinner for the family. A wide smile appeared on his face as he saw her, her back turned to him, taking something from the cupboard. He frowned when she turned. She looked sad. Even as she was mixing the spices, her face did not light up as it normally would while cooking.
"Sumo, he walked up to her. She smiled looking up at him but even that did not reach her eyes. He pulled her in a side hug and kissed her on her head. "Kya hua?
"Kuch bhi toh nahin. She answered, shaking her head at him, he knew her too well, but she did not feel like talking about it then. "Tum jao, fresh hoke aao, main abhi aati hoon.Shravan smiled and went ahead, not wanting to force it out of her. She would talk when she was comfortable.
***********
"Yeh dekho maine kya banaya tumhare liye, She gave him a small smile as he came out of the bathroom and went towards the coffee table in their room. He grinned seeing a bowl of moong daal halwa in her hands.
He went to her and snatched the bowl from her hand and she glared at him, "Main de rahi thi nah? Tumhe hi khilane waali thi!
He chuckled, leaving her fuming. She turned her back in anger, only to have him come around her, facing her with the spoon full of halwa directed at her mouth. She opened her mouth but he turned his hand and had the halwa himself instead.
"Shravan! She hit his arm lightly. Tears formed in her eyes unwillingly. She had been feeling down the whole day and nothing she did could distract her. "Stupid hormones, she thought in frustration.
"Hey, Sumoo... Shravan called out slowly, he was only trying to make her smile since she looked so sad. He did not expect her to tear up and it was quite unlike Sumo to do that. She would normally whack him and grab the bowl of whatever it was and refuse to give it to him unless he pouted at her and said he was sorry.
He pulled her in his arms and she cried her heart out. "Shrav, maa papa ki bohot yaad aa rahi hai aaj. He tightened his arms around her and let her cry on his chest. She sobbed silently and pulled him closer. She used to have such days before as well, only now she had Shravan to share her grief with. He stroked her hair with one arm and rubbed soothing circles on her back with the other.
"Hey, Sumo, he pulled her apart after a few moments and cupped her face and wiped her tears. She already felt better.
"I love you, she whispered.
He smiled, "I love you too baby, and pecked her on the forehead and engulfed her in his arms.
