Since then the essence was lost...

Hey people hope all of you are doing good. Now that we have a clearer understanding of where things are heading, its pretty much peaceful, for me at least. When I saw yesterday's epi I felt absolutely cheated and hopeless but later Namik's clarification that the epis were shot well in advance and they didnt have the chance to think of an alternative script and re-shoot, did make me feel better. So now that we know that how everyone had a reason they had to chose a path and that this is a scenario where playing blames games is the last thing we must do, I was just wondering exactly where did we lost our real EDKV all along. Ofcourse as Namik said, EDKV would have been back with a bang had future story played its course and tracks would start to resolve but well that never happened so leave it. So now whatever we had of the show, I feel we lost the true essence much before.

For me it had to be the point when ShraMan took a stand for their love in front of Ramnath. These two were just perfect till then. All their moments, their concern, their povs, the interplay of their pasts with the present, it was so well etched. Even when Sumo tried to make Nirmala and Shravan meet without his knowledge, it was such a beautifully flawed move by the lover within her. She just wanted to make her best friend come out of the hatred he has been burning in since years now. 😳 That was her wish, her yearning, to make the real Shravan come out of his shell of self-pity and self-imposed fear of rejection.

Later the way Sumo fought for PCT, her accident and his undying love and support to her, and how her accident made him accept his love with all its flaws and blemishes sans any fear, it was just amazing. And the last had to be the two epis before the start of the PreeKar wedding track. The cafe moment when she speaks her heart to him and tells him how she can never think bad of him followed by the rain moment where Shravan confesses his love in front of Ramnath with such pride and affirmation. That scene!! ❤️ It really made me have goosbumps,. Namik was so so amazing there. And last but not the least, when post a heartfelt stand by Shravan we got a feisty Sumo challenging Ramnath to stop his son from loving her if he could

I feel that was the show!! The ShraMan we all loved. That was the essence that kept us hooked. And it was for that essence only we sat through the slow poison that followed later...the PreeKar wedding drama I know the wedding itself, had least of PreeKar and most of ShraMan but the problem is that it wasnt centred around ShraMan's issues and their equation. It was all staged around PreeKar's rishta which was torturous to say the least.

Since then it has only been a waiting, a waiting to see these two talk some sense. A waiting to see these two feel something genuine about each other. But sadly that never came. Yes we did have a few moments here and there like the epi when Shravan sleeps in car but they were so random it didnt leave much impact.

How I wish the show had taken a different course after the the Ramnath-Sumo confrontation. There could have been a dozen alternatives. May be then we dont have been so disappointed. May be then the essence could have been maintained...💔

I'll tell you why I disagree. I watched the entire show online back to back within 10 days, so for me, the entire track that lost it foe you guys here seemed very short as I finished it in two days. I agree it was a little frustrating. But I agree with Shravan that he felt cheated and used. So for me. Seeing a broken Shravan, drinking and drowning is painful and hurting but amazing to watch. XD

IMO, they lost it when they tried to bring the hate marriage or marriage under duress track for ShraMan thr' PreeKar's shadhi.

Sumo became the weak sacrificial lamb & Shravan started becoming the MCP he is now.

They could've just advanced Nanu's heart attack and married them w.o the wretched PreeKar track.
I think it would've worked if they had brought in Adhi and Nimmi , the usual triangle stuff in a different way.

There has been no lighter moment in the show for ages. It's one MU after another, the height of which was Shravan's "sab kuch hua" slander. That was the last nail on the old EKDV for me.

I still enjoyed the show till y'day as I can see the bigger plot & not so hung up on just ShraMan's story.
Yesterday's ugly fight totally put me off. I'm feeling grateful to Sony.😆

I completely agree with you.
One of my most favourite scenes - Shravan Ramnath conversation. Namik was so good in that scene!
Sometime after that- PreeKar shaadi nonsense, was when things started going downhill. I was still hopeful that things would get better soon.
By this point, they should have shown more moments of ShraMan getting physically attracted to each other and shown Shravan realising how he affects her... These small small things if they had shown by the time of PreeKar marriage (as Anjali had written in a few one shot) )and would have continued showing them, things would have been different right now story wise and more so ending wise. Sigh. The creatives never used the chemistry well enough. Sad.

Agree with you.
From Preekar marriage, Aditya's entry & Suman's self-respect drama .. the things were going worst.
I too skipped many episodes in those days...
Really feeling bad about the show..

Agree with this.
Young Suman & present Suman from preekar marriage track were insensitive of his emotions.
She found mazza in making him jealous, which made him such an angry man...

Couldn't agree more. EDKV ended with the cafe scene! Everything that happened after that was complete crap! I really had my hopes high that Suman would not give in to Ramnath's plan. When that happened...I knew this show would go down the drain! I should have stopped watching right then...but in my laalach to see Shraman together...I did not let go of the show! Par as I have said many times on the forum before...I watch shows for entertainment and when they end...I don't feel like my world comes crashing down. Yaar life me karne ko bahut kuch hai...than mope over a show. Again just my way of looking at things...and I understand people who are ardent fans of the show and worked hard to keep the show going.
