Rekha 👏 nice to see your post.
This show would have been much better had it been shorter. I will get bashed for saying that, I know.
I agree with you that it is not easy to add tracks, to shorten or elongate the story. How does one who started out to write a 2000 word short story make it a 50000 word novel ? I have tried this and gotten no where.
The problem is that this medium requires it, thats all. Thats what works in Indian TV now. Had we been talking about the good old times where we had DD alone, it would have been completely different.
The issue is that the plot is very thin. There were no "black" characters, they tried to make one and failed. This is why EKDV should have been a book. It is a total mismatch, the medium and the plot don't suit each other.

The fault lies with me for falling in love with this show. And as always love hurts.

Absolutely right every word there...Maybe EDKV is a concept ahead of its time in Indian television for the romance genre. Its like the dot com bust...some of the Flipkart kind of business ideas did not work then becos the hygiene necessary for that environment was not available..Similarly I suppose viewers have not warmed up to the idea of a simple romance. They were not able to appreciate a simple tale where the conflict between the protagonists was rooted in their personalities and very little extraneous considerations. The medium only caters to the masses not the minuscule few who rant on online forums..
