Suicides happen when the victim is not able to express, accept or bear the hurt. They keep crying out for help but find none. When the hurt really becomes unbearable they take a call. Euthanasia is an approved suicide. My husbands cousin committed suicide and that led me to get obsessed with the subject.

People may look strong and crack jokes but internally they would be bleeding cause of their problems. They do not vent it out and succumb to their problems in the end.

I don't know if suicide should be shown on tv... cause if we go by that standard a lot of things should not be shown on tv viz murder, honor killing, saas torturing the bahu, dowry, husband torturing wives, adultry, smoking, drinking the list is endless that's how regressive our tv is...

Having said that Sony is handling this matter delicately than how SP or other popular channels have.

Now, Shravan is an individual who looks strong outwardly. But isv emotionally weak. He has the habit of repressing anything that hurts him. Has limited friend is extreme in love and hate.

When those are motions come out they come out very harsh. He is also blind in following people he trusts especially his father. And those thoughts have pushed him into a corner. A corner where he wants Sumos love and is afraid of her not loving him or worse... play with his emotions. Of not being able to be strong as his dad wants.

His trust in his father and his past insecurities make him extremely distrustful towards Sumo. He wants to run away like he did 10 years back, but he is not able to as he now knows that he loves her. He has more started going into a path of self destruction. Alcoholism is that... an occasional drink is ok but not what Shravan is doing. Now he is going to torture himself by watching Sumo and Adi... to prove to himself his strong he is... but he is going to fail miserably.

And when the anger that is numbing his hurt looses intensity... He will be all raw, hurting and vulnerable. He would neither be able to talk to her or let her go. His father may again have asked him to man up... Pathetic advice when Shrav is so full of pain.

Dont know how the makers will show this... maybe he would cine to know Adic and he share the same mother... but thoughts of not wanting to live would enter his head. How powerful those thoughts are along with how effective his support system is well decide on what happens.

He does not try blackmailing Sumo to come to him. He simply wants to end this constant pain.

But I feel Shravan is on the edge. He needs Sumo right now to tell him that she is there for him... let's hope that happens. That the cvs finally give us happy moments. And Atleast show Shravan getting counseled.

Well said poppinss...
I thought he may try to commit suicide after his dad's lie is exposed! That may be a bigblow to him as he considers that he is the sole support no matter what happens!

But...
Let's see how the CVs will bring this...

The act of suicide is often condemned by society and I, while I don't go by societal norms, would stand by and lend my support to society- not to condemn people who find this an agreeable option or indeed the focus and discussion on the matter, but rather how it is portrayed in the different echelons of the entertainment industry.

As humans we attach great importance to things - material, emotional, physical, other persons- in our lives, sometime valuing them above the self. However, keeping these things of high value close to us Is not within our control-loss of a loved one, loss of prestige, financial loss, financial burden, loss of fame- such is the importance tagged to these things that some people often forget the importance that they should place on themselves, taking from the self all the emotion and love that is its due and attaching it to this/these most 'precious' thing (s) of value. So when they lose people and things that they hold as most important, they also lose a sense of self and the love that comes with it, leading to self loathing and self pity. Often, these people in their fragile mental state, because of a lack of heightened sense of self/ respect for their being/ think nothing of ending their lives. It is because they deemed themselves less important when compared to other 'more important' things and people, sadly, never once considering 'I am and I will be and that is plenty'.

So should these things be shown on tv? At the end of the day, everything is a story. We,each of us, has many stories to tell and why stop the television industry from telling different stories? Because, if it is not shown carefully, young men and women in love may deem it romantic to end their precious lives like shown on TV. Because, there is nothing romantic in it. Instead it is a sad thing, no TV serial talks about the aftermath, no TV serial goes through or portrays clearly the battle in the person committing the act, no one does an in depth analysis putting all the cards on the table, showing it for it really is - not romantic but ghastly and tragic.

So, should they show Shravan in that state? Can I come back to this one later? I have hijacked myself in my room and my head is a bit like cotton candy so words are not being formed very well. I have to rush ... Will come back later and update

Popps,
If Shravan turns into a drunkard... And the suicide issue isn't there.. What will make Sumo let go of her bondage?? Will she let all else go n be with Shravan?
I don't want a suicide, let me clear it.. But something which might seriously hurt him or someone might assume he is trying to commit suicide looking at something he does... I don't know...
Don't know how they will take this forward... Preeti doesn't say anything then.. Pushkar also doesn't act... Don't his family members understand the situation Shravan is in...

Not justifying it. At the same we can't judge those who push themselves to this extreme. I it is not all that t easy. Some pain are physical and others emotional.
