I think that is where this story is moving to... He has said he is not Sumo's friend and he is not going to go easy on her. But he never said she can sodoff with Adi or any other man. Hthe cvs have decided that he would not be the softy he was... He is aggressive. So he will establish his haq on Sumo when he sees her accept marriage to Adi.

As long as he is around he would not be able to tolerate her with another man. And Sumo wants no one but Shravan... so why would this be hate marriage. The hate is superficial.

Had the younger Shravan stayed back and faced the hurt he would have seen Sumo making amends... to let him know he would never be alone.

Back too the present Sumo initially needs that little bit of haq on him to be around him... and they would gradually work their way towards each other.
