"Dammit how could I not realize it" Pushkar cursed himself thinking about the happenings of the bachelor's party. Off late Pushkar had been too busy with the wedding functions, planning his honeymoon and his future life with Preeti that he didn't even realize what had been brewing between Shravan and Sumo. It was only at the bachelor's party, when Aditya had been raving to his friends about Sumo's beauty that left Shravan go berserk. Pushkar had known Aditya since a long time and he was no new to his flirtatious ways. Though Aditya's antics had usually been harmless but he mostly forgot to realize where to draw the line. And since this time it was about none other than his beloved bhaiya and his childhood friend Sumo, Pushkar knew it was important to send the message across before It was too late. Overnight he hatched a plan and decided to put it in action the day itself, much before taking his wedding wows with Preeti.
2 Hours Later, Tiwari Killa
Sumo served cookies and hot samosas to Pushkar and Aditya and settling herself beside them she asked Aditya about his preference of tea or coffee.
"Waise Suman ek baat to kehni padegi, tumne aaj dil tod diya mera" Aditya spoke to Sumo in a slightly taunting tone which was somewhere much different than his usual harmless bickering.
"Kyun maine aisa kya kar diya?" Sumo asked feeling little uncomfortable at his authoritativeness.
"Ab dekho na uss din Shravan aya tha to tumhein ye bhi puchne ki zaroorat nahin padi ki use kitne chamach chini chahiye, aur mujhse, tea or coffee!! hun!...tumne aaj dil tod diya mera Suman Tiwari" Aditya whined in his over-dramatic style.
Whether it was Aditya's direct invasion of her privacy or his bitter tone towards Shravan, Sumo felt a sudden tinge of anger that didn't go unnoticed by Pushkar. Before Sumo could give a befitting reply to him Pushkar made an annoyed face and put down his mug of coffee in anger leaving Sumo and Aditya shocked.
"Adi yr tujhe aur koi nahin mila tha baat krne ke liye, uss Shravan Malhotra ko chod ke" Pushkar spoke in such an enraged manner that it left Sumo in a state of utter shock. She didn't know what the hell was wrong with him.
"Pushkar ye achanak se kya ho gaya tujhe...tabiyat to theek hai teri" Sumo mocked, a slight irritation coursing through her.
"Kyun Sumo?? Meri tabiyat ko kya hoga...Ya phir tujhse apne best friend ki burai bardaash nahin ho rahi" Pushkar lashed out more angrily infuriating Sumo this time.
"Pushkar tera dimag kharab ho gaya hai!!!...kya bake ja raha hai...do you even know you are talking about your elder brother?" her anger was now evident from her razor sharp tone and her firm fists that had balled at her sides. Aditya who witnessed the whole scene like a clueless on-looker was left stunned seeing the not so civilized avtar of Sumo. And the fact that it took a mere offence on the character of this man called Sharvan Malhotra to bring this much frenzy to fore was enough to make him feel pretty envious.
"I know Sumo!...I know ki main uss insan ke bare mein baat kar raha hoon jisko dusron ki khushi se koi farak nahin padta...bas apne bare mein sochte hain woh. Ab dekh na, pehle unhone tera PCT tudwa diya, har waqt tere saath jhagda karte rehte hain. Ab meri Preeti ke sath shaadi ho rahi hai to maine unse sirf ek cheez mangi thi ki woh humari shaadi ke sare arrangements ka dhyaan rakhen...aur phir bhi who baat baat pe tujhse ladte rehte hain...Mom ko samjhane ke jagah unki demands ko badhawa dete hain. Aur ab unhein mere doston se bhi problem hai...tune kabhi notice kiya hai woh Adi se kis tarah baat karte hain!! Unhein koi parwah nahin hai yaar meri...I don't even want to talk about him..." Pushkar was going on and on making it harder for Sumo to control herself.
"Waise Suman Pushkar ki iss baat se to main bhi agree karta hoon...don't you think Shravan is very weird...I mean why so much arrogance? I think he doesn't really care for other's emotions" Aditya intervened, his words serving to be the last nail in the coffin.
"Bas!!!" Sumo snarled in anger, her blaring voice echoing off the walls.
"Have you guys gone totally nuts??? Ye sab bole kya ja rahe ho tum dono???" She retorted with rage.
"Pushkar tu, do you even know how much Shravan loves you? How many times he did so much for you!! Bachpan mein yaad hai ek baar school se ate waqt bahut tez baarish ho rahi thi to woh Sharvan hi tha jisne apna rain coat bhi tujhe de diya tha aur khud poora bhig gaya. Uske baad ek hafte tak Shravan school nahin ja paya tha, use itna tez bukhar aaya tha. And you are saying he doesn't care for you!!" Sumo squealed this time and the kind of reactions her actions were producing on Aditya's face, it left Pushkar rejoicing within. His plan was slowly working.
"And not just this, tujhe zara sa bhi andaza hai Pushkar ki jiske bare mein tu ye sab baat kar raha hai woh tere liye kya kya kar sakta hai!! Do you even know ki Shravan ne ye decide kiya tha ki woh apni khud ki practice karega so that Ramnath uncle ki sari clientage tujhe mil jaye. So that you become the head of Malhotra associates. And you have this to think of him!! Han ye sach hai ki iss shaadi mein Shravan Kamini chahchi ki wishes ko pura karna chahta tha but woh bhi bhi isliye taki teri shaadi mein koi problems na aayein, sab kuch smoothly ho jaye. And exactly wohi ho raha hai...and still you are not satisfied. Shame on you Pushkar...you have disappointed me this time!!"
For once, Aditya was just not able to come to terms with the confidence with which this girl spoke about Shravan's intentions and the passion with which she defended him. Somehow it was becoming clearer to him that this time he had made entry in a no entry zone.
"Aur tum" Sumo turned towards Aditya and shot a piercing glare in his direction. "Tum jante kabse ho Shravan ko? 2 din se??? Main 10 saal se janti hoon aur itna to aankhen band karke kah sakti hoon ki woh kitna caring hai. Sabki kitni fikar karta hai, kitna dhyan rakhta hai sabka. But shayad ye samajhne ke liye tumhein thoda waqt bitana padega uske saath. I am sure bahut jald you will get a chance to see how much he can care" she told Aditya off and without even caring a hoot about the repulsed expression that spread across his face turned on her heel only to witness a spellbound Shravan standing at the door, totally awed by the moment he just witnessed in front of his eyes.
Sumo was left glued to her spot as she realized what she had just done. As soon as her perplexed gaze met his moistened one, it took not more than an instant for some similar childhood memories flash before their eyes. How Sumo had literally snubbed the woman who tried to scold Sharvan for misbehaving with her. Shravan had been left totally enthralled at that time, just like he was today, well because probably for him, he'd only lived for such days, now almost since forever.
"Sh-Shravan woh" Sumo whispered as she noticed him walk slowly in her direction, a little smug smile curled at the corner of his lips, and the sound of his heavy footsteps pitched perfectly against the intense thumping of her heart. He gently leaned forward, closing whatever little distance was left between their warmed up bodies. Sumo sighed noticing the muscles in his biceps flex as he bent further, making his deep purple veins bulge out in all their majesty. He tilted his head slightly and whispered in her ear, "Shaant ho jayo Sumo wrestler, itna nahin darate bachon ko" His eyes twinkled with mirth as he smiled naughtily at her, making her stifle a nervous giggle.
Smirking at the effect his closeness had on her, Shravan faced towards a jaw-dropped Aditya and handed him his phone.
"Meri gadi mein bhool gaye the tum...tumhari mom ka messege aya tha, no one picked up so she was really worried for you, just talk to her" Shravan informed and walked off with a blissful intentness etched across his features. Pushkar beamed while Aditya sulked at his place. The message had been conveyed, loud and clear!
