Yeah be should be sensitive and sensible .. But playin the Devils advocate I feel he thinks if I take the financial burden of excess chachi is asking then sab kush .. Chachi happy and tiwari don't have to face her taunts .. Remember he was the guy ready to run to London so as to avoid chachi ramnath unpleasantries..

I really do hope cvs address this issue soon ..

I think we are being very harsh on Shravan. He's become a pawn b/w the girls side that has a really warped view of their izzazat and Kamini chachi who is hell bend on breaking the marriage. But I blame the Tiwaris more here- Both Shravan and Malhotras are pretty cool about footing part if the bill. Take the example of the ring- they were going to get it from their jeweller, implicitly agreeing to pay for it. It was Suman who made such a big deal of her self respect and that's when Shravan backed off. It was completely misplaced in my view, both sides give and take and that's how marriages happen. Then again with the hall she's being stubborn, Shravab used the word 'help' to avoid hurting the 'self respect' of Tiwaris. I think everyone in the Malhotras males, including Ramnath has been pretty accommodative of whatever Tiwaris want to do. Most of the functions have happened at their home till now. Its some of Suman and the family's dialogues that are making me cringe- 'ladke Walon ke Yahan pani bhi nahin Pete, really??

Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending the demand for dowry blah blah blah. I think this track is realist but it's so regressive. Kamini chachi doesn't mean most things, she's only doing it so that the shadi breaks. And Shravan is just trying to restore harmony. Even he's not understanding Suman's position, it's because she's not explaining anything to anyone, nor are the Tiwaris.

I can't blame Shravan...
First of all tiwari's themselves agreed to her demands
Malhothra's have a high standard in the society, so tiwari's need to care that too..
Above all,Shravan won't wish his chachi to insult suman/ tiwari's, as there are chances of it, as of now..
He himself was going to leave the country, when he realized that his chachi don't like his presence in India.
He is not so close to chachi, to say something against her wish, at to interfere in her son's marriage demands, beyond a level.
So, we can't expect him to something against chachi's wish, to support Tiwari's's
He is ready to financially support them, which Tiwari's don't like because of their self-respect.
He is trying to respect both the people

Please forgive me, but I disagree with you completely..
And the reasons have already been stated beautifully within the framework of the story...
No one is acting or behaving cheap here but, are behaving in consonance with the plot and with the consistency of the character sketch

Exactly.

Plus we all know how much does family matter to him.How much they have been by his side giving him the needed support.

And common think for yourself, put yourself in Shravan's situation and consider what will you do when its your family who was by your side always v/s a love who at the moment is confusing you.

indrani - u need to expand on if you believe the plot is correct which most of us do not agree with. we see obvious loopholes but clearly you dont, so please add on more than just giving us these small hints 😉

I know guys everyone has their own views and I just put forth mine. I am glad some people can reason out Shravan's behavior. But honestly I would tell you if my brother was in Shravan's place he would never do this. Because a man who earns his own money, who has his self-respect, who does not believe in things like dowry will NEVER become a middle-man of such discussions. These things are handled by the elders. It's Kamini who has so much problem with the expenses then she should ask lalaji to handle this. I totally don't want Shravan to continue doing this. ATM he is neither being realistic nor being idealistic. He can do xyz anything for his family until it does not require him to put anyone else in a state of embarrassment.
