Kennnaaa...
I am truly speechless. When you told me you had written a story, the first thing I did was to read all seven chapters at one go. And I have to say that I'm glad I did.
Coming to the story, I loved your characterizations. All the events were handled by the characters as I would expect them to, as adults, and in a mature and rational manner.
The emotions were beautifully portrayed.
But what I loved the most about your story, Kenna, is that it just flowed. There are many stories which are pretty good but are penned in a static manner, making it difficult to enjoy them as they deserve to be. But your story suffered from no such ailments.
Also, I'd love to see Khosla in action. That was a good entry. Had you not entered him in the story when you did, things would have gone far too smoothly for it to be believable.
Continue the good work and update soon.

Cheers,
Lily

Thank you so much Lily!😊 I appreciate your comments. I wanted the characters to be mature. A little real if I may say that. In TV shows, exaggeration is a norm and I understand that its important. So here, I tried to keep that to a bare minimum. As for Khosla, well wait and watch. He is an "evil spirit" as another reader mentioned😆

Hey everyone, thank you so much for all the love and appreciation you've sent my way. I am so thankful for all the encouragement you'll have sent my way. So without further ado, here goes the next chapter of this SS.
This chapter focuses on the events that need to take place so that the next chapter has something worthwhile. I hope you like it.

Chapter 8

It had been a few hours since Shravan left from PCT. He had been waiting for her call. Not receiving her call had made him restless. He tried calling her but she wouldn't pick. He didn't have a very good feeling about this. All sorts of thoughts came to his mind but he willed them to stay away.

On the other hand, Suman had sent the food along with some of her staff to cater for the event. She had stayed back at PCT to wind up. She had decided to clean up so that when her staff arrives the next morning, they'll be saved the effort of tidying up the kitchen before they start work tomorrow. Also, her staff that is attending the event to cater for the dinner will return to deposit the utensils back at PCT. She considered giving them a day off as they had been slogging for quite some time. "The night is eerily silent and calm" she thought.

It was around 8:30PM and Suman still hadn't called. Shravan was furious. He couldn't take it anymore. He grabbed his car keys and headed to Tiwari Qilla. "Miss Suman Tiwari, if this is your way to torture me, then you better watch out. I am going to show you what it means to rile me up" he thought.

At PCT, Suman was busy dusting the place before she called it a day. She was standing near the door when she saw a few men coming towards PCT, one of them being Khosla. At first she didn't bother but when she realized that all of them were coming towards her, she felt scared. Khosla came forward and said, "I told you Suman, I am going to take PCT into my possession. Here I am, keeping my word." He ordered the men to destroy PCT. They did just that. One of them caught hold of her and within no time the windows were shattered, glasses were broken, utensils strewn around, cooking equipment destroyed.

She was seething in rage. Her eyes were filled with tears, but they weren't of sadness but of anger. She wanted to rip him apart. She saw her hardwork of 4 years, her blood and sweat, being reduced to nothing. But, she didn't say a word. She knew she didn't stand a chance in front of these men. No matter how hard she tried, she wouldn't be able to save PCT.

But she was sure of one thing, she wasn't going to give Khosla the pleasure of knowing what she felt. He would never know the extent of her hurt and defeat. She decided to put on a brave and the most stoic face she could. She wasn't going to let him have the satisfaction of breaking her spirits and her dreams. "He cannot have it all. He would NOT have it all." She thought.

Once the goons were done with thrashing PCT and reducing it to shambles, the evil spirit seemed pleased. He looked at her. His eyes were filled with evil and menace. Suman could see right through it but didn't want them to know of her dread. She had let them harm PCT but she wouldn't let them touch her. She had to escape. She wasn't going to let Khosla ruin her, literally and metaphorically.

She yanked the goon who caught hold of her and ran to her car. She ran as fast as her legs could take her. But they managed to reach her. This time they had fire torches in their hand. They set her car ablaze. They then caught hold of her and dragged her towards PCT. She stood facing Khosla. Her eyes were fierce. She wasn't going to let a beast like Khosla defeat her. She was much better then that. Before they parted, he said "I told you, I don't play fair. I don't play by the rules. This is the price you're going to pay for not giving me what I want, for not selling PCT to me and for insulting my pride and ME" He laughed loudly at his victory.

Post the exchange of words, she was pushed inside PCT and the doors and windows were locked. In moments that followed, PCT was set on fire and Suman was trapped inside the structure. She stood there lifeless. She could believe all that happened to her within a span of few minutes. Khosla's words played in her mind, "You have messed with the wrong person Suman. "All this while I had been dealing with you in a way that was socially acceptable. But know one thing, I am not one like you. I don't play fair. Now, you wait and watch. I'll show you what I am capable of. You have made the biggest mistake of your life."

She wasn't aware of the extent he would go to get what he wanted. She had underestimated him and that was her biggest mistake.

Khosla stood outside PCT which was now burning, admiring his handiwork. His right hand man said, "Why did you set fire to this place? We had already destroyed everything and could've taken it in our possession easily. What was the need for all this?"

"There was all the need my dear boy. By setting PCT ablaze, there is no chance of her trying to lay claim on the property. Plus, shoving her into the fire, helps me get rid off her for life. She can be quite a pain, to tell you. With her out of my way, and the land in my possession, I get to do as I please. Also, I don't have spend any extra money on doing the usual rigmarole of having the place bull dozed and cleared of the rubble. I am saved of all that trouble." Saying this made Khosla feel on top of the world.

Suman was inside PCT. She saw the men including Khosla leave. She knew she had to act fast. She looked around to see if there was anyone who could help her. She couldn't see a single soul. Her cries for help were met by silence. She saw her phone. There was a glimmer of hope in her eyes. She went towards it only to see that it was charred by the fire. She looked around for something heavy so that she could try to break the door but couldn't find anything. the thought of jumping out of the window came to her but they had grills on them. This nullified that option too.

Tiwari Qila,

Meanwhile, Shravan was waiting for Suman and having small talk with her family. He felt uncomfortable and something was troubling him, he couldn't tell what. "Shravan beta, dinner is served. Come to eat" said Mamiji. He smiled wryly and followed her to dining table. He looked at his phone. There was no sign of her. "Where are you, Sumo? What the hell is taking you so long?" he thought.
