Specially if the male lead is a success. So, let's see.

thank u for your response...

Indian TV does not do any justice to the male character...this is really my observation...Men don't have much to do in Indian TV. They are all to magically disappear while the female leads fight battles, wage wars...etc 😆😆 which is only expected becos the large female TRP audience is keen to see exalted versions of their lives on screen. 😉

I have no doubt Sumo is a special character and her growth will soon be visible on screen...the approach of the makers here has been different so far so I am hoping they will buck the usual trend where they will make their heroine human not mahaan...

even though she is the central character .. sometimes her actions and reaction are difficult to understand .. there is still a lot that makes me say .. how come ? why? why not ?

Thank u...😊

Those questions will hopefully be answered as the character unravels herself before us...i can feel it will be done sensitively as it has been done in Shravan's case...he is before us...warts and all...so will Sumo soon

Did we need to see the Sumo conversation in the mirror when she discovers the letter & whispers i love him ... or was the love shown to us in a very subtle subliminal level from episode 1 ... pause here a moment .. go back to the holi sequence & when Sumo comes home & cried her heart out .. she says i never ditched u Shravan ...
& now think why did she give away her mom's jewelery to Shravan as payback .. why did she part with something which meant so much to her ...
after the party she thot there was nothing left in their relationship ... they would never be able to overcome their pasts ... where is the question of moving FURTHER ... she gives away something she wanted to wear on her own wedding ... ( now do the connects here & i promise u will smile when u figure what the writer has been subtly telling us all along)

Perfecto...Red thank u for this gem...it completes my understanding now...I am smiling...I missed the the post holi sequence..had missed this scene somehow...Brilliant thank U..Red!!👏👏 I had no issues with her realisation...i had an issue with her approach to the letter discovery scenes (bathroom scenes) it fell below my expectation in respect of what followed...however your connecting the post holi mirror scene does it for me...I just watched it!!

Now heres where we all erred in understanding the writers message ... some of it due to some wrong dialogs .. some of it due to wrong direction ... but here goes ...
When u understand Sumo & Shravan relation .. its an ideal 'jodi' ... they compliment each other ..each is the other half of the other .. he is settled .. more serious ...more grounded .. she is a bit more in the air .. she is mischievous ..she is a fireband ...

Its not about his love for her ..she is fairly confident about that ... but she knows Shravan will never be truly happy until he can put his past to rest ... & the one thing Suman Tiwari has made her life's mission is to make Shravan happy ... right from the first time she befriended him in school ...

Now heres where u go back to the last couple of episodes .. & listen to the word ... HURT .. which keeps cropping up in their conversation ... her wanting to fight not to hurt him... & he acknowledging her power to hurt him ... 😳 ..

Completely agree...As i said...my issue is not with her characterisation...my issue is the way they have revealed her in some crucial scenes...for instance her dialogues in the terrace convo with Nirmala could have been framed in a much better manner...as in the parking lot scene...just my view Red...

Thank u for for your insights...as always they add a new dimension to my understanding of the motivations of a character...

I know that is the general situation but even in those shows there is no character growth for anyone. That's why I said if a male leads gain popularity then he gets most attention. Saw that in IPK, Rang Rasiya (few episodes that I watched)

Rekha its absolutely brilliant piece 👏
I loved it to the core❤️
Sumo's character is quite intriguing right from the start. When she said ' woh itni bdi bat bhi ni thi' i was like seriously...u made fun of ur friend infront of whole school when he had just poured his emotions. He cried his heart out saying his mother left him and still u had nerves to insult him 😕 ...her behaviour irked me.
But as the story progressed we saw a mature suman who cared for him, stood by his side when he needed her the most. Each day taking baby steps she is trying to compensate the damage done in the past, to bring back his old shravan , who isnt bitter, full of resentment.
Her character is very interesting , each day she surprises us. That dal scene was a proof that she had grown enough in these yrs. She loved cooking with passion, but that day she kept mum when she he stated the fact, worlds best chef are men'. She just wanted him to enjoy that dish which brought back so many memories.
I was irritated when she sent him the text" Did u miss me?" What did she mean by that? But ur post helped me to understand it better. I never saw from that angle.
P.s.- Rekha u do know that u r an awesome writer. But i still feel honoured to read n appreciate ur posts. It was like watching every episode all over again. Loved that u chose to make a post on sumo.
Thank u so sooo much for giving us chance to read such beautiful pieces

Take care

That's exactly what i mean...However if you see the scene...it is not as if Sumo intended to be abrupt with her apology...she starts off making the right overtures. When Shrav brushes it off with a "are you stuck at that point? I have moved on so should u" Classic dialogue that set the pace in the renewed relationship..Imagine if Shrav had just accepted her apology...we would perhaps have not had this lovely journey..Sumo was cut to the quick...Her rejoinder is a reflexive response...She can't believe that the man has not spared a thought for her in these years..so she fights back in the only way she knows...give as good as u get...one of my fav scenes of this serial..

I guess mostly the trick is to believe in their story...their unique bond...its usually very rare for teenage friends to have so much baggage and build on a relationship...This is a huge draw for me while I see the journey..I am close to both characters really...no intentional favourites for me..😆 for me the story succeeds only when these two succeed..
