Its a battle.

He cares but he does not want to,he loves her but does not want to,he is helpless but does not want to,he smiles but does not want to. He smiles remembering the moments he shared with her or better to be framed:His lips curve upwards even when they are forced to frown cause they know that he does not have control over them,they know that he is in love. In fact his inner conscious also knows that he is in love but he is not ready to accept it cause he is broken and once broken he or anyone else is difficult to mend. He cares but he is afraid,afraid that he will melt with the caring and she will take advantage of that and he will be nothing but helpless. He cannot see her in pain and runs to her when she needs him thats where his heart says 'Go 'but his brain says 'Stop 'and thus starts the fight between the brain and heart. Its heart v/s brain now,where the heart says' you love her,she will mend you' but the brain says 'you don't love her,she will break you more'. His inner conscious tells him to go help his love but here comes the broken soul which stops him and makes him realize how cruel life or she had been and how she had played with his feelings. Hence, the brain and the broken soul are partners who are wining and overpowering him whereas the heart and the inner conscious are partners that currently fail to overpower him. But a time will come and he will realize that only she can mend his broken soul after all: "The one who breaks you can only fix you"

His heart hurts in fact it pains him to see her crying and ignoring her more than it hurts her but its the wall that he has built that is too strong to be broken at once.

PRECAP: There is rudeness in his concern but thats because he cares and he is pissed because she just won't take care of herself. And this is because HE LOVES HER but is confused himself and as they say "Jo jisse jita pyaar karta hai voh uss see utaa he jhagrata hai aur uss pee utta he gussa karta hai".

He is not afraid of her, or of she taking advantage of him... he is afraid of his own younger version...his whole past, the past that made him what he is today , the past which is devoted only towards Sumo
