So, while I was watching the episodes, I thought of the phrase 'moved on'.
I know a lot of people believe that Shravan hasn't moved on and his distrust of the past masks his feelings for Suman. I agree. It makes for good TV.

But I was wondering, what if he has really moved on? Ten years is a long time. Memories fade, emotions die out. (Obviously, Shravan still holds on to his letter to Sumo, so this isn't true.) But what if he keeps it close just as a reminder of the betrayal he felt at the hands of his best friend and not as a sign of his first love.

I wouldn't mind Shravan having moved on. The Shravan of yore fell in love with Sumo, a girl with spunk and vibrancy and magic that he lacked. The yin to his yang.

But the Shravan of present day, he needs stability and trust in his life, a familial bond. Today, he has evolved into a confident and successful man, a man who can charm his way through any situation.

He is a far cry from the awkward and lanky boy of eighteen that he was before. That boy felt that Sumo completed him. But this man? He is complete on his own. He doesn't feel the need for Sumo' spunk any more. So, why should he not have moved on?

The present Shravan is smart and shrewd and a know-it-all. But he lacks an anchor. He feels superior to women and he needs someone who will bring him down to his knees. And that someone is Suman.

Take note that I said Suman and not Sumo. Why? Because I feel that Suman has been shaped and moulded into her present self by the pain of her past. Sumo's spunk is still there. But the drive to be ambitious stems from the loss Suman faced as a child. It started out as a way to pay the loan her parents took. But it evolved into a way of life for her. I feel that drive and passion is more a part of Suman than Sumo.

I think I'm just rambling but anyhow, I think the term 'moved on' is so abused on TV and in movies that I'd really like to see someone actually mean it for once. You can move on and still fall back in love. I know some may argue that if you fall back in love, it means you haven't moved on at all. But that's what I want to highlight, the person Shravan was in love with before was Sumo, and now it will be equal parts Suman and equal parts Sumo.

I have no idea if I even made any sense. Just thought of voicing my random musings.

i feel regardless of what shravn said today abt sumo and women for him Sumo is an exception not the rule

Shravan demands a lot of loyalty and understanding of Sumo .. in today's epi he was irritated at the start of dal scene bcoz Sumo didnt feel the same abt the dal as him .. but finally when saw the sumo enjoyed it he smiled softly at her knowing she feels the same .. and then again attitude as he was angry with her ..

i think biggest problem/frustration for us audience is there are no POV scenes of shravan .. we never get inner monologues of his.. we never figure out what going on in his mind .. we get loads from suman ..
shravan confuses the heck out me .. why was he so sweet to her if doesnt consider women trustworthy .. why does he care so much abt suman if he doesnt care for women .. does he still love her .. he does but doesnt think she will make a good partner .. why does he hold on letter .. has he moved on .. why does he blow hot and cold ..

waiting for some clarity soon 😒

He may or may not have moved on! However...he is certainly a changed man. So now...I am more interested to see how Suman goes about dealing with this morphed Shravan!!! If it were me...hello hi bye bye bolke I would have run very far from this person!! 😆

Amazing analysis!

i have written this in another post as well but seems like this kind of flows with what u said - i want sumo to mellow down a bit because this version is not for keeps for a high profile lawyer like shravan. she should know how to behave in front of clients - its fine to barge into his room but office, really?
for this kind of behavior - people would get fired at the firm i work at (i mean if someone's friend behaves this way). also she is supposed to be 26-27 not 14. she can be her 14 year old self alone with shravan but not in front of his clients or in his office. as i said in another post, the cvs are slightly overdoing it in showing her hyperness.

i did like how she didnt want him to find out about daal - now that was the suman i started watching this show for (trust me i am being critical of her because before i found out that namik was the hot male lead, i fell for sumo's strong independent woman character sketch)

so yes it has to be suman who works her charm on shravan and not sumo 😃

Yaar, what is this daal scene? :P Everyone is talking about it. I will get around to watching the latest episode soon. So, hopefully, we'll be on the same page then.

I agree with you, about the lack of clarity on Shravan's inner workings. Till now, I thought his anger at Sumo was a result of her earlier betrayal. He showed no chauvinistic inklings till then, so it was really sudden for me.

I think we need a scene where Shravan voices his opinions. He says he hates women and thinks of them as manipulative and shrewd, yet his behaviour doesn't corroborate with his thoughts.

In the scenes with Chachi, I have always felt that Shravan is smart enough to understand Chachi's manipulations. And with this new information coming to light, I am just left wondering if Shravan is that full of hate at women, why is he not calling Chachi out on it? I just feel his actions don't match his thoughts.

The CVs should have build on the MCP angle little by little. Because in all his appearances, Shravan has come across as a man betrayed in friendship and love, a child abandoned by his mother. So, if the CVs would say he is afraid of commitment, I can believe it. But his being a MCP is difficult to digest because his behaviour with Suman has been anything but.

Haha. But Sumo is not like you and me no. :P

She will tame the giant 😆

Just like Nandini brought Manik to his knees. 😉

Thanks!

Again the Daal scene. Bas I will definitely watch the new episode tonight😆

I am actually waiting for Suman to work her magic on Shravan. But before that I need to see Shravan treat her as his equal.

I do not condone love stories, where one character has the upper hand over the other (or at least thinks he does). I want him to get over his skewed notions, for them to come on the same page and then the love story to wow us.

Because definitely, any self-respecting girl will not be bullied by a man's chauvinistic propaganda. Suman, definitely, doesn't strike me as the kind. She seems like the kind of person who will want an equal for her. And Shravan isn't thinking of her as that.

I need this consistency in her character, where she doesn't throw her self-respect out of the window for love. It sends out a strong message. She can mould him and everything, and she can even metamorphose into a better person. But her moulding herself to suit the present version of Shravan, totally goes against her very being.

i disagree a little .. they did build his character as MCP .. he was condescending towards women in earlier episodes .. he made slight remarks to sumo during kholsa track too .. pushkar and sharvan had a conv on this .. its just tht sumo never saw this side of him .. bcoz ard her he was the old sharvan .. she brought so much nostalgia .. it only when she started 'meddling' in his life anger started bubbling and it burst .. now we r now in aftermath .. it all depends how the leads take this forward will decide the fate of their relation ..
i had a total random thought while typing .. since shravan has shown his ugly side to suman so i feel his today's put down were like him pushing her far and see if she fight for the friendship or leave him again .. i might be totally off ..
the dal scene is interesting if u see beyond the surface .. do watch and let us know how u found it
