What a super episode to follow up on the "mujhse se dosti karogi"!
I will not dwell much on the Thu episode which has been beautifully analysed by a lot of postmakers...to name a few...redwine1, DocD, Prc_fan1, ri21, sankadevi..etc..(sorry if I have missed naming the others)
The follow-up episode was the way the CVs delivered a seamless episode after the "friendship" gauntlet.
Sumo's extreme confusion as she waits for cues from Shravan on how she must handle this problem looked interesting. Sumo in a previous avatar would have led the proceedings, but this is unchartered territory; she is not sure how to proceed. However, Sumo's way of handling her confusion is vintage Sumo. How dare Shravan sleep peacefully when she is in a crisis?
Shravan on the contrary, sleeps peacefully, absolutely content now that Sumo has accepted his friendship. Yet, Shravan does not forget the rules of this newly minted friendship. He responds to the frantic call of his friend, gently chiding but absolutely the friend in deed for a friend in need. This may be the new friend Shravan yet intrinsically, he is the Shravan of the yore, who cannot see his Sumo in distress, however addled she may sound. He will do her bidding, as always.
However, there is now a significant "change" in the new equation. Sumo asks Shravan for his advice on a matter that Shravan has already banished from his mind so much so that Shravan has to reach the recesses of his memory to know what the fuss is all about. Sumo is encouraged by his nonchalance. If Shravan has already braved the storm, he will show her the way. He shows her the way...only that the way disappoints her...she had laid more expectation from her friend. The balance has tilted ever so subtly. Sumo comes away pensive. She had not expected to be in this zone (friendzone) considering their new-found understanding. There is perhaps that price of expectation that Sumo will have to pay for the change in balance. Her friend has suddenly become content with the "status quo"
Here comes in the part of that promo..."tumhe rokun woh HAQ kahan se laun"? and "main kis rishte se ruk jaun"?
The CVs have brilliantly restored status quo in their relationship yet changed the rules of the game. Sumo of the yore would have never hesitated to "jatao" her HAQ on Shravan and Shravan of the yore would have lain in wait for her HAQ "jataoing" . The new Sumo hesitates to take the call on their relationship and the new Shravan is just content at being her friend, nothing more nothing less. He had lost this precious thing in the past in his eagerness to have more and he is not ready to risk it. In fact, he is not even thinking of it. He has the one thing he holds more dear than anything, his Sumo's acceptance of him as a friend. I stress on the word acceptance. From Shravan's perspective, It was the one thing lacking in their bond, Sumo's acceptance and now he has it. This is why he is possessive of that bond, almost reconfirming it with a promise on the terrace and a reminder on the "tanga"😊
I am excited for the new part of the journey. Sumo's journey for that "HAQ" that will result in a "RISHTA"...that rishta which will bind the two forever. A relationship of true equals!!
Brilliant job CVs...👏👏.great work by the cast and crew. What sublime writing, the one thing sorely lacking in soaps of today that insult our sensibilities day in and day out. This is a refreshing attempt and I am so glad to enjoy it.
Lot of stand out scenes...the early morn convo of Shraman...Shravan can never say no to Sumo...the tanga scene...his playfulness now that he is content. All the rest of the guys just beautifully blended in..Pushkar-Preeti, Mami-Masi-Nanu all scenes for a purpose. What a lovely ensemble cast!!
