Or so
Said Shravan to Sumo!
What an amazingly well crafted episode
Yet again!
Team EDKV,
Your Commitment to Consistency
Has to be experienced to be believed!!
Kudos to you, Team
For delivering day after day...
One episode after another...
Hat's Off to you
Truly!
๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
What a soul-stirring insight we got into the REAL Sumo
Her world
Her memories
Her pain
Her void, and the vacuum
Brought to life FLAWLESSLY by Nikita Dutta
As a certain someone proclaimed
She's special folks!๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜›๐Ÿ˜†
So here goes...my take!
EDKV has truly mastered the art of seamless continuity
If it was the entwined hands the last time
It was the ruminating Shravan in this episode!
๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
LOVED how Shravan was totally in character
The astute lawyer reading between the lines
Of Khosla's buffoonery!
Shravan had smelt a rat
The ad hoc meeting with the Tiwari household, completely justified!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
So MANY notable moments in the scene that followed...
Suman's hand on Nanu's shoulder, as Mami let loose her spite
What a fine touch that...the piece on Sumo's parents
As Nanu revisited their past
This is something that is so refreshingly unique about EDKV
Every character is human
And, so is "grey"!
LOVED how Shravan's eyes would just automatedly, navigate towards Sumo
From Nanu's "Aur maine uski shaadi Rajneesh se karwa di"...
To Mami's stinging "Priya ne hi ghar girwi rakhi hogi...jo apna ghar girwi rakh sakti hai..."
Not a word uttered
To express his concern
Only the eyes doing the talking...
Namik and his expressions were absolutely bang on, yet again!!โญ๏ธ
Nice touch that, as to how the capable lawyer
Through his gentle prodding and probing
Completely understanding the sensitivity of the issue on hand (read: "Nanaji, bura mat manna...Kya aapne kabhi bhi Priya aunty ko ghar ke papers diye?"
Solved the mystery of Khosla and the papers of Tiwari Killa (read: "Ho na ho, Khosla ke paas is ghar ke original papers zaroor hain")
And then...
The trip down memory lane...
Sumo's world
Her bachpan ki yaadein
Her most prized possession!
Will come to the details of this emotional journey in a bit...
What stood out for me the most, as a viewer
Shravan was simply accompanying Sumo
But, how by the end of it all
It was no longer just Sumo's world
Shravan had also become an inseparable part of it...
Peeling away thy layers, Sumo...
Shravan now inhabits your world!!
๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
LOVED that lovely touch of small talk between those labourers and the watchman
LOVED how Sumo, almost in a trance, magnetically, also, pulled Shravan in
And then...
As the memories unfolded...
From where do I even begin??!!
The flashbacks blended in so effortlessly
The young Sumo and her innocent outpourings
As Sumo made her way through the maze
Of her childhood memories!
Super touch, that of having the young Sumo be the perfect guide
From the swing
To the bed
The scooter
Her "measuring tape"
Her Steppo
And, finally...
Papa's room!
So many heart-breaking moments here...
Such poignancy
Of Sumo's recollection of the swing
What a SUPERLATIVE creative moment there
As Shravan reached out to Suman
His pain manifested only by the quiver of his lips
As he held on to the swing
There was no need to swing it
Sumo's pain was already becoming his
And, Sumo had sensed it!
Absolutely, EXTRAORDINARY stuff, CVs!!
Nikita and Namik, you guys just slayed it!
๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
And then as we were drawn
To the deepest crevices of Sumo's world
Simply LOVED the attention to detail here
The stickers on the wall
The bunk bed
Sumo's secret haven...her cupboard
And the "Mummy...Sumo...Papa" scribble!
My favourite moment, here...
As Sumo
With her child-like glee coming to the fore
"Yeh mera scooter hai...iski bell abhi bhi bajti hai"
It was not just Shravan who could sense Sumo's pain
As he looked on...achingly
We too...
Had a lump in our throats!
A special mention here of how beautifully the flashbacks played out...
Only Sumo in the forefront
As her parents' presence was only implied
What a refreshing touch of direction , that! ๐Ÿ‘
And then...
As Sumo "reached out" for her Papa's sweets...
The melancholy of the moment
Moving, indeed!
Finally...
Along with Shravan, as, Sumo led us into her parents' world...
As the bindi and bangles association unfolded
So did the most special moment too...
As Sumo finally emerged from her trance
With the bindi back to the past
As reality seeped in...
As the truth finally hit Sumo hard
All that remained...
Were Memories
Memories of the past!
FANTASTIC use of the mirror there
If Sumo was reliving her most precious memories
Shravan experienced every moment of it
The pathos
The poignancy
The pain
As Shravan finally reached out...
FULL MARKS to the CVs there for lending such dignity to the culmination
As those hands spoke volumes
Only a hand of reassurance
Of comfort
Of solace
Let those tears flow, my friend
This catharsis will be comforting
Will meet you on the other side
You are no longer desolate
A special mention here for Nikita's performance. She was simply OUTSTANDING!! An amazingly nuanced and layered performance! She sure has a glorious future ahead...
My personal favourites...
- The nuanced moment on the swing, delivering that soulful "Jaise aksar akele bachhon ke saath hota hai"
- The honesty of the "Aur yeh mera scooter...Iski ghanti..."
- The outstretched hand and the pain in tow, as Sumo reached out for Papa's sweets
And finally,
- The concluding bindi moments, as reality hits Sumo hard...
Nikita was just MINDBLOWING in this one!โญ๏ธ
This ode would obviously be incomplete without a word of appreciation for Namik...
How ably he supported Nikita...at every step
Not a single word uttered...
To be able to convey so much...ONLY through his expressions
Shravan was actually feeling Sumo's pain
And, YOU, Namik Paul, brought that out FLAWLESSLY!
๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
For all your modesty, you need to know
You're MIGHTY special, as well!๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜ƒ
Cheers!

Shravan wanted bad;y to push but but buttt Sumo just ran away...๐Ÿ˜ญ

Sumos fear and suprassed emotion condems her to move away from shravan at every moment ...

Because the situation has made sumo and shravan both Someone who are not they in realityyy...

Both are broken both have lost thier childhood...in a diffentway but both are equals in terms of everything.

the longiness of shravans eyeee๐Ÿ‘

Heya Doc ... i was missing your post
you tell me about it how like how amazingly consistent is EDKV team ... delivering every day it no easy feat and they are doing it ... cheers too them

Sumo I was desperate to know her side of story and heck we got it and in such a heartbreaking way that you cannot help but feel for her and her vulnerability.

He got to see the real sumo which I am sure sumo herself has not seen in long with him by her side all the layers are peeling... the friend she has waited for so long to be back to her .. he is there with her and she is letting go albeit unknowingly .

each and every moment brings them closer and the friendship is the stepping stone ... hope the don't go back to square 1 again after this issue is done

The epi was so beautiful had all the right elements and Nimik they are the soul of the show

Hey! @Sah Sah
Thanks for your kind words...me too was waiting to hear from you!๐Ÿ˜ณ
@bold: WORD!
Am just loving the pace of the show...
Sumo and Shravan are traversing a journey
Letting go of that baggage of 10 years was never going to be easy...
It was inevitable that they see each other thread bare
Sans their trappings of ego
Just love how the real ShraMan is being brought to the fore
First Shravan, Now Sumo
How beautifully they are getting to know each other...
Their gradual realization...of how completely wrong they have been
In their judgment of each other!
It is this realization which is so slowly but surely dawning on them
Which will be the stepping stone
For a new found friendship
A deep-rooted bond
That will last...
Long after this case is over...

I still have no words to describe the perfection this episode was...if they keep going at this rate, I guess I will have to re-learn the language.๐Ÿ˜†
But seriously...It was everything you wrote so beautifully. ๐Ÿ‘

How Shravan stood there behind the swing...as nothing more than a friend...perhaps even more..She was talking about her lonely childhood...He was the part that made it whole again...So how poetic that he stood there as the memory that will never fade away.

I was tear filled through the whole episode in the house...Nikita was superlative...That moment when the adult Suman's face fell as she felt the child Sumo's disappointment when her father teased her about the sweets...Unforgettable.๐Ÿ‘

And the bindi scene...how Sumo suddenly removed the bindi, knowing she couldn't afford such carefree thoughts...she didn't have the luxury anymore.

I had asked how well Shravan knew Suman when he accused her of being all that in the party...This day was indeed the day he started discovering Suman all over again.๐Ÿ‘ As a teenager, he had felt awkward when she had so roughly expressed her sentiments..As adults, how subtly she can express herself, and how maturely he can handle it! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

How so completely true! LOVED the fact that he only just stood there...holding on to the swing...such a beautiful facet it was to their gradual change in dynamic...as you so beautifully put it...He was the part that made it whole again

WORD! One of my favourite moments too...Nikita made Suman's pain completely palpable!Clap

And the bindi scene...how Sumo suddenly removed the bindi, knowing she couldn't afford such carefree thoughts...she didn't have the luxury anymore.
Oh! That was lovely! My most favourite moment...so difficult to choose, though!
Just LOVED how the realisation was portrayed through a reflection in the mirror...as if to mirror the pain of Sumo's harsh reality!

How absolutely true...every word that you state!
It has been a "journey" in the truest sense...these 10 long years...
How beautifully these two are rediscovering each other
And their unconditional acceptance of the same!

YAYYY!!
My Soul Sis is here!!

Beautiful post. This episode was amazing and your analysis is brilliant.๐Ÿ˜Š

I love the title of your post: "Peeling away thy layers". Very apt. This episode was beautifully shot. We got an important insight into Suman. It was bittersweet and heartbreaking.

Nikita and Namik did a wonderful job with their expressions. Their acting is so good. I was an emotional mess as Suman navigated through her past memories and Shravan silently following her and lending her his quiet support. It was a tragically beautiful scene. Must say, CVs are doing a commendable job.๐Ÿ‘

Hey Zin!
๐Ÿค—
The episode yesterday...
How beautifully you put it...bittersweet, indeed!Clap
Nikita and Namik were indeed very good yesterday...how effortlessly, they had us transported to ShraMan's world...for us to be able to actually feel their pain...
It was tragically beautiful, as you so aptly put it!Clap
The team is indeed doing an incredibly good job...and we're enjoying every moment of it!
Love,
Dyotona
