I can't believe I could have been so blind- but then, you are the only person I always thought I could trust with my eyes closed.
Why, you ask me. Because I thought you were different from me- made of better stuff.
What right did I have to, you ask me.
Thanks to You, I ask myself that question today.
Indeed, what right do I have to ask better of you?
Ten years back, I was a silly teenager, an insensitive idiot.
I thought you knew that, that we both agreed on it.
Ten years of silence- I thought that would be my punishment.
I was foolish to expect you to forget my crimes so easily.
You were cold at first- I gave up on you; my apologies seemed as insignificant as me.
Then I decided to seal the memories of our friendship.
In no time you were back, cajoling me, thrusting me towards this showdown.
And I thought we' were back.
There was a spark- I probably mistook it;
You let me boss over, as if it was my right.
A short joy ride engineered to be perfect- it had to be our last one together.
I asked you how we were different,
Probably we are no different.
Or I grew up to be better and you to be worse.
But then, you are still the sweet old boy wronged by the unfaithful friend,
I am the manipulative bitch- was , will and forever be???
How well do you know me, Shravan Malhotra?
How well did I think I knew you, for that matter of fact?
And how does all this matter any more?
PS:
I found two things very special about this episode.
One was the revelation of the teenaged Suman's dark past- delighted that she is someone who was very very wrong.😉
The other was Shravan's breakdown- the actor did a wonderful job👏...very heart breaking.
So, what happened to Suman in the last ten years?
Did she lose her parents, and was that what made her grow up finally? There is definitely some trauma related to her past, but she is too strong to reveal that now. (The jewellery fb tells us she had already lost her mother by then)
Also, loved the bond between Shravan and his dad.
And the way Sumo blew up on his mother's news- sounded like the whole world was expecting just that, with Shravan hanging on to hope. I am sorry- but Sumo's outburst did not sound so shocking when I reflect on it in relation to Shravan's dad's response...He seemed to imply she was always on the verge of leaving. It sounded more like Sumo wanted Shravan to just forget the undeserving woman and stop wasting her time too- but it came out horribly rude and insensitive.
Overall, very gripping.👏
The highlight of the episode was definitely the answer he gave her- That she would always be a matlabi person.
