I totally see your point Kriti. I really do. It does mean a lot to her & Shravan. And she really wants to do everything she can to make it up to him & I love her for that thought esp after she hurt him so much. I was just a little sad that the show was giving us this usual torn dress drama track that really humiliates a woman (at least in whatever desi shows I have seen this track) & hate how she is constantly you know shown her place. Urvashi & Suman wearing the same dress, together will Shravan ditching her & all the other humiliation would have sufficed. The torn dress track was not needed. Thats just my point.

And I actually imagined that Pooja from K3G scene playing out with ShraMan. I did. And I was expecting something like this to happen in the party but the torn dress drama really lowered my spirits.

I feel like this torn dress drama is just to cater to the desi audience who likes to see these kind of tracks. See a girl cornered this way (When there are so many other ways to corner her) & then feel pity for her.

The thing is even if she walks away all dignified & standing up for herself, that could be done without the torn dress drama.

I agree it's not needed and I would've preferred that track to be did without TOO, my argument is just on when people start saying "Suman is becoming a doormat by wearing the dress/the show has become regressive by showing that Suman wore the dress" which is a view I STRONGLY oppose.

Oh definitely she's not a doormat by wearing the dress. The reason why many are reacting this way is because we've never seen this torn dress drama being progressive in any show. Its always been shown in the most dirtiest of ways with the female lead being humiliated & laughed at & then her walking away in tears. Thats why everyone's got so annoyed by the idea of this track, esp when the show could do without it.

Again like seriously, I would've preferred they did away with the track too, but that's not really what my arguement was on.

Also, yeah they are probably doing that for the TRP aunties, I can't blame them for having to do that. The scriptwriters face pressures from the channel, the producers, har jaga se. And yet they managed to still keep it from becoming Ekta like.

The torn-dress they could've lived without, but I genuinely do not think they're gonna handle it like the way they do in other shows.
