Suman : 'Shravan tum chahe aaj jaise bhi ho, kal jaise bhi ho jao par meri yaadon ka Shravan hamesha waisa hi rahega jaise kal tha aur main use nahin bhool sakti..main tumhe bhool sakti hoon par tumhari yaadon ko nahin'

I just realised that ShraMan constantly oscillate between self-respect & ego. And the line between both is very thin. For Shravan, it has now become a matter of ego that he will not let Suman go, until he's gotten his revenge. Until he's not gotten an eye for an eye, or at least something of that worth. While for Suman, it has now become a matter of self-respect that she cannot let this man who constantly humiliates her, let her continue to do that & she has it in her to move on. And so she will try her best to.

With the show encapsulating the whole 'pyaar VS samman' - meaning love VS self-respect theme, what do you guys think is self-respect? And what is ego? And also are love & self-respect two different notions which are to be pitched against each other?

Would love to hear from everyone :)

Cheers,
Samridhi

Well said post. I just talked about self respect and ego in one post. M on mobile cant copy that anyway we see a role reversal here again. Shravan wont let go of suman easily until he pays the price. We ll suman being practical. Its her self respect that she doesn't want to get hurt by this new shravan so avoids him buy adores the teen shravan. Another interesting thing suman said in mata ki chowki. That jo tum adhura chod k jaoge use main pura karungi. It says it all.
Both of them r now trying to prove eachother that they dont matter to eachother or like they say they have moved on. I name this a mix of self respect and ego but at night when they r alone in their room they ll remember eachother their schooldays memories and curse present for the misunderstanding. P

I would simplify it to hurt hate and love. If Shravan did not care for Suman as deeply as he does he should have moved on. .. afterall is been 10 long years. We tend to forget things with time.

The fact that he had not proves that he wants Sumo back. .. lock stock and barrel. But he has not yet realized that fully.

Anger is a result of hurt. In shravans case he feels that sumo betrayed his trust... His first line of ressoning was that she is a no body and he should move on. Now he is not content with that anymore. .. So he is going to try to hurt her... This to me means that he is not running away from her this time. ..
But we need to see how far he would be able to go before he falls into hos own trap :)

Waiting to see what happened in the past before I pass judgements on eithers role in it.

U have described the situation aptly..though he told suman that he had moved on and she should also do the same,it irked him when she avoided him and he couldn't tolerate it. So now he wants her to suffer the same way he suffered..
M sure we r going to c lots of sparks in the coming episodes(though not the love kind) šŸ˜†

What is love? Is it a shade lodged between the colours of a rainbow?Or is it one of the many twinkling stars that fill a pregnant sky, each one bright, each one giving the illusion of a bright tomorrow. Is it the ability to dream, to accept and the need be accepted?

I say Love is encased in Freedom. Independence - feeling emotions that burden the soul and yet being able to free oneself. It is being encumbered yet feeling free.

What is self respect? It is freedom. Freedom from the expectations of society, from love. Freedom from emotional bondage. It is independence of thought and strength of character.

In love, we look for a happy ending. In self-respect we can always find a happy ending.

So what is the much sought after happy ending?

Happy ending is being able to look at the sky and being able to reach for the rainbow, or the twinkling stars. Or so it may seem. Often a happy ending is knowing one can take a slice of the rainbow to colour their world but choosing not to. Often a happy ending is not an illusion and does not need the brightness of a thousand twinkling stars. It is being able to walk away. Free. To look back at him and the pain he wishes to inflict without flinching. It is being able to savour the memories and the good times and keep them safely in a treasure chest, untainted.

Love? - it is being able to move on, to sprint ahead. But so is self-respect. In love, we find self respect and in self respect we find love. A person with low self-respect can never truly love.

All three can be linked. I don't think love and self respect have to be separate.

Not like those lovey lovey types and all 2hi i love the most in this.

Shravan would'd faced a lot he is doing so. But he knows in the process that he gonna hurt Himself more than Sumo.

And Suman had faced the actual situation where she have somewhere in mind that its going to be okay!

I agree Mini. He is hurting himself more than Sumo and when he will realize it will be too late
