That is a lovely translation Hammie. hello Gaurikhandekar... great to see you on my post... just logged in and have to say your faith references have stumped me... remarakable.. see they dont called Shiva mahadev for nothing..
I find it incredibly symbolic that this particular shayari is about ashes. Lord Shiva as we know is always covered in ashes. It is said that Shiva turned the whole world into ashes and smeared them on his body. Shiva brings about transformation. He turns impurities into ash and makes them pure again. Death and rebirth. ..this is a profound interpretation, and so befitting Shiv's name too... yes death for humans can be a final end to life.. but the ashes concept you touch upon refers to rebirth and continuation of life after death.. thus continuing the process of life after death... its consoles us in terms of parting from loved ones
Shiv asks to be cremated on amavasya. The night before amavasya is traditionally known as Shivratri. The night of Shiva. thanks for touching upon this, as viewers and readers hail from various parts of the world.. and its enhance=ing our knowledge about other faiths too
The way I see it, Shiv cannot withstand fire because he hasn't moved on to the next realm yet. Cremation will purify and set his soul free. Free to be reborn, to rise from the ashes.
fantastic.. your thoughts make sense in terms of the plot too..I may be reaching but with Maha Shivratri on Feb 13 I do have hopes of a spectaculor twist of "divine" sorts😳 thanks so much for your valued comment... and Maha Shivrati to you mate.. with much love
