Cinema Scope: Frame Your Idea' Will Connect Film Writers With Producers :

Writers keen on making movies are known to have gone to considerable lengths to meet filmmakers. Like Zeishan Quadri who after being turned away from Anurag Kashyap's office, cornered his attention one evening at Prithvi Theatre by staring forcefully at him. Kashyap felt compelled to speak to the writer, who then narrated the story of Gangs of Wasseypur.

There's an easier way. Frame Your Idea (FYI) is an initiative that puts writers in touch with producers and movie studios. It's a part of FICCI Frames, an annual conference for professionals working in the entertainment business organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce. This year, FICCI Frames will take place from Wednesday, March 30 to Friday, April 1 at the Renaissance Hotel in Powai. FYI is open to writers, directors and anyone with an idea; you don't have to sign up as a delegate for FICCI Frames if you only want to attend FYI.

Participants will get to pitch their stories to representatives from 69 movie and television studios and producers of short, documentary and animation films. Writers, in particular, will get to narrate their stories to at least four producers of their choice over ten minutes with each one. Among the movie studios and production houses you could make a pitch to are Drishyam Films, Fox Star Studio, Kabir Khan Films, RSVP (Ronnie Screwvala) and Viacom18. Production houses that will hear ideas for reality shows, soaps and other TV series include BBC Worldwide India, Phantom Films, Star Plus and Life OK. Concepts for short films and web series can be narrated to companies such as Sikhya Entertainment, Sony LIV and FilmKaravan. The fields of animation and television for kids will be represented by Cartoon Network, Drishyam VFX, Nickelodeon and Shemaroo Entertainment. Discovery and National Geographic are among the companies seeking pitches for documentaries. For the complete list of panelists, see here.

FYI is priced at Rs4,580 (Rs4,000 plus 14.5 per cent service tax) per head. The registration fee for students is Rs2,862.5 (Rs2,500 plus 14.5 per cent service tax) per head. Register here. Delegates who have registered separately for FICCI Frames can sign up for four FYI meetings at no extra cost. The registration fee for delegates is Rs17,175 per head (including service tax). For group packages, see here. For the complete schedule of talks and masterclasses at FICCI Frames, see here.

Thanks for sharing this!!

This is a very good initiative, frankly writers are treated quite poorly in this industry, the lack of talented writers is so glaringly obvious. It would be good for the actual and proper writers to get a chance to showcaze their ideas.
