Pre-leap and post leap characters compared and contrasted

Pre-leap MJ

MJ was accused of crimes he did not commit but took the blame to save his brother. He did this for his mother's sake. He had a very sharp memory and he was desperately trying to forget his vivid past. Despite his tough exterior he had a large heart. He would go to great lengths to save the ones he loves.

Post-leap MJ (Balli)

Contrast

As Balli, MJ has become a law breaker, who is getting away with extortion and goonda giri. He has lost his memory, except for certain flashes which he is trying hard to revive.

Similarity

He is doing this for Laddo's sake (he considers her like his mother). He too will go to any lengths to save the ones he loves, including risking his life.

Pre-leap Tara

Tara was the bhai of Bhopal, not a law breaker but a fearless girl who fought for what is right and what was hers. For her family's well being, she willingly accepted to be chained in a marriage which had no future. Her life was in danger because she saw something she was not supposed to see.

Post-leap Tara (Sia)

Contrast

Tara, as Sia, is being held a captive much against her will. She has no intention to remain chained to Om as she is still MJ's wife.

Similarity

Since Tara has not lost her memory she is much the same fearless girl who is fighting to unite with her beloved. Her life is still in danger not for what she saw but for who she looks like.

Pre-leap Mriara

Destiny forced them to be together against their will.

Post-leap Mriara

Destiny has forced them apart but has also brought them in contact with each other.

Pre-leap RP-Kala

He/she could not reveal his/her true identity and was forced to lead a double life - RP by day and Kala by night. While RP was politically powerful Kala had all the human resources. The only man he really feared and hence tried to keep in check was MJ who saw through him.

Post leap Kala (Laddo)

Contrast

Laddo is freely living as a transvestite as she faces no social pressure to conform. She has managed to enslave the man she failed to control in her earlier avatar. She is no longer politically powerful.

Similarity

She is still unscrupulous and still has a battalion of people working for her.

One more similarity between Laado and Kala/RP is that there still is a fear of MJ which is why she wants to brainwash him and use him as her slave because if he goes against her, she knows she won't survive.
