Written Update NOTE: NOT WORD TO WORD BUT AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE:

RAJ- today after noon viraf patel is here on radio with me

viraf- i will only talk to u if u call me Viraf phiroz patel, i like to be called in full version of my name
their is a little story behind this, phiroz is my dad name, he wanted to become a actor , but he had
to take of his family, in some way am full filling my dad's dream.i like to be called VPP.

Raj- chalo i will call u this

Viraf- thank u raj am very glad someone like u is promoting indian culture, entertainment and im al for people like that it helps us make lots of money.

Raj- am gonna say ur show is such a success, so ur demands r very high in uk viraf

viraf- really really this is very kind of people in the UK

raj lets starts with some boring questions, ur show is 6 months old, how did u get the show?

viraf- i had to pay a lot of money to the producers and say listen im an out of work actor put we out there im really looking for some work (wittiness), paid a million bucks called him mrityunjay maybe you should do audition for this and i said ok, they said your face dont look good lets cover ur face, and then they didnt tht
and said ya he looks good, and then they put hair oh ya wig thats how ek boond ishq happens for me
i was lucky that saba thought i fit into her story, she is creater producer writer behind the show
BBC was producing it, i have done telly film with them, they r good party to be with, and life ok is a young channel and its doing very good so all seemed to be a good to be part of .

raj- when u got the script of the show why u thought am gonna do this show?

viraf- well to be honest daily soaps dont give u scripts, scripts r write while it goes..
you dont really get a script what is get is wht the story going to be what ur character gonna be doing..
I really liked what i heard, my acting teacher told me always look for dilema, Mrityunjay had a dilema in his life and that why i took the show... i think this is the beAUTY of Mrityunjay he had this dilema to start with, the promise to his mother and the murder all this ..ALL the stigma attached to it.

Raj - and thats the reason the show is clicking so well in UK also in india, making one of the top show on Life ok

viraf- i seriously dont knw wht makes us work, if i knw wht made us work i really would be doing tht agian and agian, we just try... and i dont think theres a lot of trail and error there isn't a star in the world who says that whatever I'm going to do is going to go through the roof. its a big team effortsaba writes dialouge director gives us dialouge then we have performance for it, their is team who is making the set then the lighting (praises the whole crew) you have all the and then audience watches it and says ha acha laga, theek laga jo bhi hai then we are good to go but i still dont knw wht actually works
audience should like wht we r doing, i should feel happy with wht am doing ..
I really dont knw what audience really like, i have putted my finger to it , am not that sharp yet..

Raj- now their is question from jiye re (my baby doll) 😆she wants to knw whats been ur fav memrable scene so far on ek boond ishq ?

Viraf: its the scne first day of shoot Mj is being introduced in jail his fighting the bad guys and his locked up inside and its special for me because the crew(sabah, director) saw what they were not expecting to see and that is very satisfying for me as an actor. they said its much better then what we thought it would be so thank you for bring that in. brought Mj to life in a special way satisfying the creators so thats remained special to me. and its al about for me. hahaha

Raj now their is another question here from alot of of ur twitter follows aditi, jiya, kausla, sehreen shika saka, their also ruby ..

Viraf.. first of i love all of you ..whats the question?

Raj- they want to know u r such media frendly person but why you stay away from twitter and facebook these days?

Viraf- its very interesting question, all i have to say is that sometimes in life u need is to lisent more then u speaks, you just quite and lisent, maybe I'm in tht listing mode, am sure tht chatter box am i will soon start yapping and all, in attempt of fine communication you should talk and also lisent right my way of balance is just quite for sometime and then starts talking agian thats what am doing raj am talking to u right and thats the other way to strike that balance

Raj - ok toh aisi baat hai, alot of ur fans been worried thinking u r maybe not happy with how tweets treats celebraties is there anything other?

Viraf- i dont know why should i be unhappy with how fans treats me its bcoz of their love am out there .and we have to strive on that. I'm talking to them thorough you also

Raj- other question from shagufta farazi she wants to knw did u cry while qutting ur long locks?
bcoz she did, she means tht she was very emotional on seeing ur long locks cut

viraf- paid a tribute to my wig me and my makeup artist stood up and paid a one min silence and thats was for the love they were putting on the wig. we put it on the table and looked at it for a min in silence and said bye bye till we see again sniff sniff then we wiped each others tears we were very emotional.

Raj- shagufta farazi also wants to knw how u treat chhavi pandey ? what the funniest prank u played on her ?

viraf- its C H U B B Y you know chubby as in fat. yes I'm always playing pranks on her. funniest prank can't think of any. I'm constantly at her case I'm very lucky to work with a co-actor i think she's really spunky she takes things in good stead she tolerates me she eats up all my food all the time thats different she's blessed with some metabolism you know. my mum says your losing weight on the show i said chubby she eats up all my food mummy, she's like a bottomless pit she keeps eating and eating and still manages to stay in shape i don't know how she does that, i tease her by coming up with a name everyday naughty pandey, radio pandey, , what did i call her yesterday orange chubby pandey

RAJ- chulbul pandey

viraf- chulbul is to filmy for her she's far more spunkier than that. somedays its angry pandey sometimes its itchy pandey sometimes its crappy pandey. the names keeps going on.

Raj- i love that i love the kind of masti you do other question here about shilpa anand, , rucchi wants to know how was working with her in the telefilms are you still good friends with her?

viraf- of course we are just good friends hahaha

raj: mmm mmm (teasing way)

viraf: i just love that shilpa is such a lovely girl she's some of the best eye candy indian television has seen i think we had a fine time working together I Take credit in introducing her to this great artist called Russle peters shilpa didn't know about Russle peters. i was like dude you have to watch this show. so we bonded alot on these stuff. shes been busy with her film and me with the show so we havent been in touched as much as we'd like the last i bumped into her was the SBS party she looked fine and was excited about her film. i was lucky to work with a pretty girl like her and i'm sure shes going to go places.

Raj- there is question from mohi 😳she wants to knw fans got emotionally affected on watching MJ getting beaten up what was reactions of the people close to u ?

viraf- they were also emotionally affected (hahaha) my director thought (hahaha) i was doing such a bad job that he too got emotionally affected. no i'm just joking i think thats the nicest compliment to an actor and to writer team can get the essence of that scene was to bring some applicatory to the apply so please continue to give us your love❤️ and im very fortunate to have been able to to do that part in that way. so if they've been emotionally affected then that means we've kinda touched home and erm its an attempt to just entertain you and thank you for being there and being our audience.

Raj- mohi😳 wants to knw Your views on fan creations specially the cards made by troikas

viraf- im sure i must of seen some of their work and i must say i just love every bit of stuff that comes on its so fascinating and its encouraging it shows love of the fans and i'm sure i must have seen these cards, ive seen some cartoons made on mrityunjay ive seen some caricatures made on chhavi and viraf and some poems going out there and i think thats just the first part of our work and its one of the perks of enjoying the privilege of being an actor you get so much love from so many people im really fortunate so erm whoever is making these cards, whoever is sending in these messages making these poetry,whoever is making these cartoons thank you for being apart of my life and lighting up the day man Lots of love!! (even here i wanted to cry cry)

Raj- nishu gaur want to know how does it feel on mj being toutured by these goons again and again?

viraf- i really dont feel much as an actor besides that ke im thinking how do i make this look believable and thats all im thinking then i just get down to working with the director. my mum does feel bad my few realitives do to oh Mj's getting beaten up. so one has to trust the writers and go with the story we hope that the audience enjoy that. personally do i have a feeling NO not really to be honest.

Raj- gaurisha wants to knw what kind prepartion u had to do for MJ?

viraf- o yeh i had to grow alot of facial hair that was the hardest part not being able to shave everyday is a big big one. once you grow your hair and you look like Mj your good to go.

Raj- other question here once wish u would love to have been granted?

viraf- i find myself wanting to be apart of these very good stories that are being told and its my third show Raj and it started of thanks to aditya chopra who put me on tv with mahi way and kismat and both were very interesting shows and there was this telefilm outing with star plus and now this great show that i feel i'm doing i think the one wish i would want be granted is be apart of these great (line wasnt clear this is what i made out of it)stories being told in whatever age die and take.

raj-hmm hmm

viraf-dont you have a tear in your eye? arent you touched deep down?

Raj- i'am im very touched infact my dil ki dharkhan is getting a bit kinda crazy im feeling for you

viraf -dhak dhak karne laga tum ko bhi hahahaha

Raj- hahahahaha oh viraf ive got to say you sound like a very jolly guy you know that the kind of person i'd hang around with.

viraf: you wouldnt say that if you had to talk monies with me (raj was ROFL here) production house the accountant doesnt have that point of view 'his the most petty guy ive ever worked with eats chews my brain for every single rupee'

RAJ- im sure its worth it.

viraf: as long theres is no monetary standards im having alot of fun.

raj:other question here from adti, she wants to knw which charchter difficult to play aditya marchant our mrittyunjay?

viraf- Mrityunjay for a simple reason aditya was shot over a schedule of roughly 130-150 days max. Mrityunjay has to work be in character everyday so as an effort Mj is many times more than aditya because aditya in terms of shooting was 90days work and the show over 150 days or 130 days and I had to plat aditya for just that many days. Mj has been working for atleast 150 days. It's a daily soap so you shoot everyday. But just by the volume of work Mj is far more demanding because that's a daily soap you got a be that guy everyday.

Raj- there is other question from aditi you are a closet writer? Are u? Do u give inputs scripts for ek boond ishq aswell?

viraf- input as an actor yes. As an actor you have the privilege of catching hold of the CVs and saying hey can we do this can we do that and the joy of apart of a Creative team that I'am with Sabah our creative director Gaurav who is leaving now and we are being replaced by Dhruv. The channel the programming team, Astha and these guys I'm really special to be apart of a team, which has a discussion so if I have a question or an input it is taken into consideration so I just put it down to normal team work and it is natural that if you are a creative person and you are a screen flare it is an invitation for all types of artists to come and contribute. so when an artist does contribute he may have somethings to say and another artist who created it picks it up and says o yeh maybe we can do that. so going by that logic yes i'am contributing and i'm just enjoying this creative journey and im greatful that im working with creative minds who take that input of course there are a lot times im shot down by being told thats such a silly idea. but there are times when they say hey thats a great idea lets use that. so thats apart of the creatives process and i think like i said thats an actors privilege to be apart of such a team.

Raj- viraf like you said you quiet active on social networks sites what about the feedback from fans and viewers do you take that kind of feedback on as well and change the script and chance the track of storylines.

Viraf- listen im not that powerful that I would change the storyline (hahahaha) that's between the broadcasters and the writers. Erm and I think the only thing that changes the storyline are the ratings. Eventually we have to face the fact television a show are made for ratings, and if something doesn't work its not rating well. The broadcasters and the writers are essentially the makers are very much within their means to do what they think might make it work. So it's a constant quest to rate higher and higher or to rate in a particular way and I'am apart of that quest. I'm not a key decision maker so I have to go with that. So whether that's cutting Mrityunjay's hair or growing it I just have to say I'm hardy to it lets do it. And ive got to make it look believable as an actor whatever the lines and whatever the script that is given to me.

Raj- Another question sorry viraf you know what im running out of time we are going to quickly move on to the next question from humera anwar she wants to knw wht kind of genre or films u like to watching?

viraf- I just love all kind of films theres particular animation films I like, like Woolly, Megamind, Madagascar series, The ice age. I'm a great fan for Christopher Rowland Martin's work, I love Leonardo da Vinci . in the Indian lot Raju Herani is my favourite director and I dream to work with him someday because ithink his the best we have. And y aim a sucker for films. I really sit and watch just about everything and enjoy likewise for music aswell I guess.

Raj- Whats your favourite music genre? And somebody wants to knw r u still doing DJ?

viraf- No yaar once you do a daily soap you cannot do anything else I promise you that. Even if you wanted to do that stuff. Ive now become a closet DJ as well

Raj- Awww what kind of music do you like what's your favorite genre music?

Viraf- I love again just about every kind of music. I spend a lot of time listening to and discovering songs from movies. I actually use songs from movies to help prepare for my work as well. For example there's a tragic sequence that I need to learn my lines and prepare the scenes for I get myself in a room playing music for a background score of a tragic scene from a movie I've liked or a piece of music I've liked like for example inception is a very thrilling music. I find myself listening to that a lot to prepare myself for scenes. Likewise if there is a romantic scene I put on a romantic piece of music and prepare for my scene. So I defiantly use music as a tool for preparing my act or some sort of inspiration.

raj- Theres a question from lovely liz in one of ur interveiws u said u r born to romance so r u dating anyone ?

viraf- I meant born to romance on screen and by that measure I should be dating a lot of people. So I'm born to romance a lot of people at the same time. So I'm not dating one person I'm just dating anyone and everybody who's coming my way. (hahahaha)

RAJ- (hahaha) Anyone in particular?? Who's getting more romance than the others?

Viraf- No, No I believe in equality I do not have any prejudice based on age, intelligence, IQ no bar, colour no bar, race no bar just baar baar. (hahaha).

Raj- (hahaha) Acha acaha sneha wants to knw when was the last time a gal hit on u?

viraf- 5min 33 sec back and a guy hit on me 3min 43 sec back I have a timer that watches that out.

RAJ- Hang on 3 min ago I was in conversation with you so I didn't hear anyone?

Viraf- I have a driver who's taking me around.

viraf- ballo ki dukaan I think the way you say it sounds so cute that I think I'll go with that one. Actually baalo ki dukaan

Raj- I wont repeat it again alright I let you do that.

Viraf- your culturally challenged Raj what do I do with you?

Raj- The thing is I'm doing so many interviews on a weekly basis I'm getting to learn all the character names, all the bits fans want to know so it's a difficult kind of concept but I'm trying.

Viraf- I can imagine you must be mums and grand mums dream come true they must be loving the show you know everybody, you know the plots and everything humara Raj kitna pyara hai sab jantha hai' (western accent LOL).

Raj- I love that british Asian accent it sounds good. Chalo

Viraf- I love that as well. Its just a fantastic indicator of our time Indians are all over the world and I'm sure the must be an Indian with a Chinese accent, there must be an Indian with a Philippian accent and a British accent, American accent. I think a lovely nuance of our time. Please don't take offense. You wont kill me right?? You will interview me again right??

Raj- of course not no no, of course you're like family here on the radio. There's another question here, couple more questions Ruccika wants to knw do u like adventures in real life? what kind of adventures do you like?

viraf- All sorts of adventures I like creative adventures, I like physical adventures, its just I don't get time to be adventurous, I get very adventurous with people I as well I rub them the wrong way get adventurous there. I'm up for adventures of all sorts adventure is my middle name.

Raj- A question by many of your fans. They want to know why r u still unattached? Do u have any plans to find a nice parsi girl?

Viraf- Well if you all can find me a nice parsi girl please go ahead and do that. Right now I'm busy being attached to as many people as I can be so its very difficult to--------------(UNCLEAR) always when someone asks who you attached to you cant really put a finger on it , can you? Technically I'm still unattached because I'm attached to a lot of places and a lot of people and I like it like that.

RAJ- Viraf it sounds like a lot of fun what you are doing at the moment.

Viraf- specially the foot and mouth disease I was talking about. (HAVENT GOT A CLUE WHAT THIS WAS ABOUT ITS EDITED)
