The Victim

There is a victim.

That victim is not Radha.

There was a rape or else the police would not have filed a rape complaint.

There is a dead body and there is a murder rap.

Only thing missing is the identification of THE VICTIM.

So, the case will be reopened for fresh investigation.


The Accused

ALERT: This is purely based on conjecture due to the dialogues.

MJ himself must've surrendered to police and must have claimed that he is the one that committed the crime [no matter what the reasons]

This must be purely based on the fact that he was made to believe that the dead gal is RADHA.

So, now that RADHA is alive and the unknown gal is yet to be identified, what is the status of the case and what is the status quo regarding his sentencing?

No doubt, there was a crime. So the charge sheet is still valid until such time there is a fresh charge sheet filed.

Is MJ still guilty?

Yes! Absolutely until further evidence pops up in the fresh investigation that the police conduct and they find another suspect.

His bail can be extended though as police themselves need to start a fresh investigation and then file a fresh charge sheet.

Can MJ now claim that he took the blame on himself under duress and that he was mislead into believing that the victim was Radha. He can claim that but the onus of proving he did not kill the other ANONYMOUS gal still rests with his defence team.

Conclusion

So all in all, we've just traded one mystery for another, now with more meat of trying to identify the real victim, the real rapist and the real killer and how all that is tied to the main story of the three main leads, {IF AT ALL the makers want to GO THERE, I aver]

Yes, there was a rape and the victim of that rape was Radha. She may not be dead but that does not belittle her suffering. She was battered and on the verge of death when her father saved her and kept her hidden for a year. She was still convalescing at the time of the rally where she got shot. She may not be dead but the rape did happen and she was the victim of it.

Now how did the body get switched? I think the switch may have happened in the hospital where she may been treated initially. K and her gang may have tried to kill her and frame MJ in the crime or maybe her rapists (I'm putting it in the plural because I have a feeling it could have been a gang rape) tried to kill her. Raghu kaka fearing for her safety may have then hidden her and got some body from the morgue (with the help of some friendly attendant - again conjectures) and then disfigured it so that it cannot be identified. She may have been identified by her clothes.

Why did MJ take the rap for it? Because he was made to believe that his brother was responsible for Radha's rape and death and his mom must have begged him to save her son. Hence the reference to Ram.


As to whether Radha was MJ's love interest before this gory incident, I suspect that he was very close to her as a friend. She was much younger than him so he did not have any amorous feelings towards her. I think she is the same age as Vasu. However, Radha seems to have had (maybe still has a huge crush on MJ). MJ was aware of it and may have even discouraged it but then she could have been steadfast in her feelings. They could have had an argument over it just before MJ left for Delhi the night she was attacked. This could be a reason why he feels guilty and responsible in some way. I don't think he ever loved Radha as a man would love a woman. That feeling is reserved only for his Tara.


Will MJ withdraw his confession now that Radha is alive? No. He will not, because as you pointed out a rape did happen even if the murder did not. Radha may vouch for the fact that he did not commit the crime but then she would have to identify the criminal which MJ may not want her to. There was this scene when he comes to know Radha is alive where he mutters to himself that Radha being alive complicates the case further. I think he was referring to this fact.


Now who could the real criminals be? I have a feeling it could be Adi's friends who were in the party. Since it was a masquerading party, the real identities could be hidden. Seeing Adi in a distraught state with Radha, Nimmi may have come to her own conclusion.

Opti: Brilliant points, regarding Radha being raped (injured yes, but rape, I have my doubts, and here is why), it is still a doubtful scenario. She must've been injured but raped?

When the police pinned a case of rape and murder and filed a charge sheet, they needed a body of evidence for either of the charges to stick, hence, my conclusion that the dead ANONYMOUS girl was the one that was raped and murdered, it cannot be a random dead body as only a post mortem report and DNA samples or evidence of foul play that is visible evidence to forensics can be taken into consideration for the police to file a case of rape and murder.

Hence, my thoughts that the ANONYMOUS gal was raped and murdered.

May be, Radha too is a rape victim, but we don't know that, as Radha was never tested within the time-frame (that is 72 hours or so, if I can recollect from memory) within a rape when there can be a police case for rape.

In that case, we have 2 rapes(almost within the same timeframe), one body, one, two or more culprits each for each of the rapes, and the one murder.

PS: Regarding MJ and Radha's relationship, I did say in another post that Radha had a crush on MJ that MJ was aware of and probably did not pay much attention to, but Radha might still be holding a candle for her MEER.

But still hope they come up with better investigation skills...but script needs to work out now somewhere...after whole kaka scenes happnened messed happen..
It would be better if cv's gives some thought process which i dont right now they r in mood to show this much...but in further we can hope for something...they try to weaves the things in better way !!

I don't know think the victim can be anybody other than Radha. The way she was moving seemed like she had been attacked very badly back then when the incident happened with her.

If you remember correctly Radha was handicapped. But, in the flashbacks she is not a handicap. So, what do you think happened to her. But, you are right for the fact that Raghu Kaka got a dead body and replaced that for Radha's body seems a bit unrealistic, because a dead body is no halwa even in a country like India where population is so high, that u will find it so easily. It's possible that Radha's body was replaced by a dummy or something that feels like a body but is not. The most important point to be noted here is if Radha was not the victim then why did she hide. Even if I suppose that she is the sole witness then why was she attacked and if she was not attacked then why is she limping like that.
