@ closet - Seriously my thoughts exactly, only you put them into words.

Yes the exit of Viraf from Mrityunjay will leave a huge shadow to fill for the new face. But the character, nor the actor playing Mrityunjay attracted me to watch Ek Boond Ishq. It was the story, the plot, other cast members.

Regardless who'll be the new face of Mrityunjay. I'll watch the Ek Boond Ishq.

Yes as a viewer I'm high disappointed. But as serious career minded girl, I can understand why Viraf would have made a choice to leave. But I do wish that either the channel or production house themselves had handled this whole 'exit statement' personally. Rather it makes Viraf look very unprofessional, blah, blah ... but it's a mess.

But the bottom line is we are all there because of Ek Boond Ishq, not because of any other reason? Are we? Well I certainly am not. And I wont let one person affect a show I pretty much love and watch everyday.

They have their priorities and I have mine.

Thank you for reading my rant. :)

The show must not suffer its easy for us to say we r not going to continue to watch it but what about the cast n crew who haven't given up and who have given us the best! Just coz they can't share their thoughts with us they to will be suffering!! We need to surpport the show! If they resort to ending the show incidents like this will continue to happen because we the fans don't want to compromise! We couldn't accept barun's exit even though he did take the show to a height even though it had potential to continue but it didn't because we the fans refused to compromise! This time the show is only starting 4 months young and again we don't want compromise what next a show that we will fall in love with is going to air for a month?? a week?? a day?? What's the point of daily soaps then they should be short telefilms then ek he epoisode mein khatam no broken hearted fans no actors hurt and no show spoilt!!

Ok, professionally I may not be a writer. But in my profession - being a visionary is critical. Seeing a vision materialize a feeling like no other. Yes there are hiccups along the way.

But purely as a viewer I'm not too fussed as long as the story progresses and the cast as if not greater but equally good chemistry with the new Mrityunjay.

I guess you're right. I want to be pleasantly surprised too.Let's see how things materialize.
The only obstacle seems is the look. I've a feeling they're going to change it .Hence the mention of chopping hair and getting clean shaved in the past episodes. Problem is solved that way.

That's what I summed up in my post.

😊

Peace I'm out.

Like I wrote in another thread before, I liked EBI because of all the characters, not just MJ. I am someone who likes actors onscreen than offscreen. However, I liked Viraf because of his personality offscreen. For me, it doesn't matter whether an actor is replaced or not because I've realised if the right actor is cast as replacement, then I can easily accept them.
If another actor replaces Viraf as MJ, then I would still gladly watch EBI. If however, MJ is killed off then I would be really disappointed because I did not watch 4 months of EBI just to have the male lead killed off with no justified explanation simply because Viraf left. It's Viraf that quit - not MJ.

Other male leads have been replaced and there was such a buzz [I'm sure you all know which show I'm on about] but now, I feel that the replacement actor does suit the character and hence I can envision him as the character despite the actor change.

With EBI, the beard and hair is Mrityunjay NOT Viraf. MJ's look is so strong as opposed to other characters that for me it doesn't matter if someone else replaces him IF they keep MJ's look intact.

@ bold - I'll bet with you on that! In other shows when a cast member has changed, appearance and mannerisms do change. Not only in India, bit it's also happened in English and American shows as well.

The key is to be open minded and be ready for the new face.

😊 Peace.

Yep, I'll gladly accept the new MJ with open arms. Sad and disappointed with Viraf but you know what? I actually don't care. With the right replacement actor and MJ's look kept the same, who cares? It'll still be MJ.

:]

So true... that's why I support seasonal/episodic formats rather than daily soaps... in tv industry new trend has started... everyone is rushing for lucrative offers... stupid channel walas should consider bringing seasons...😆 problem hi solve ho jayegi...
It'll be hard for us to accept new actor as MJ... but after few days we'll get used to it... since show is in initial stages it's not that difficult... I feel agar usne aur baad mein show choda hota when MJ-Tara would have crossed another level of love it would have been nearly impossible for us to imagine someone else in his place... so replacement should happen as soon as possible...
