There are lower courts & higher courts, appeals & what have you. Sanjay Dutt committed a crime 20 years ago did some time in jail & then came out to live a good life before going back in😕 The Aarushi murder case has been going on since 2008 & the alleged perpetrators have only just been sent to prison.
I'm too much of a lay person here but maybe MJ was tried in a lower court & imprisoned some months later. His getting parole for a rape & murder charge was bizarre but putting that aside, maybe baba is appealing to the higher court now😕

Sanjay's case was in TADA court... crime against women are tried in fast track courts... still they take time... & Divya is right... Meethi said verdict is yet to come... & even in initial episodes jailer said the same to MJ.

At last there is a date to the crime. I really dont see much of a confusion. The barsi was done on the day they aired which should be the day she died.

Today Tara happened to see the date on the pictures, she questioned Baba and Mj and others. Then got to know from precap that it was the date of the crime.

And like you said in a state of drunkenness the crime happened. Could be his friends too were involved. Probably even Adi believes he committed the crime but he might have not done it. This is all Rudra's doing.

I think people r confused with the month including me...but think of it November month which is gone..& now its december month..she just got the pictures on that there is certain date...

The legal aspects have obviously been brushed aside in the show because as far as I know you can't get parole or bail for a murder rap. If they had paid attention to the legal system he wouldn't be walking around freely. But is an Indian show so we are supposed to overlook these things😆
