todays episode reminded me of this quote in one of twilight saga series

fire- warm, endearing, eternally hopeful and life giving .is it really a surprise that love is always compared to an eternal fire? that in indian culture and myths sacred vows marriage and even friendship (in ramayana) are taken in front of a fire?that a person who wants redemption is said to be taking a trial by fire?
fire is everlasting. it never completely dies out. it is a symbol of purification , love, and justice.
ice- cold, chilling and menacing and dark, everything opposite to fire. a person is said to be cold when they hurt someone without a thought to others plight. evil is said to be cold. death is said to be cold.
today it was a battle - the eternal battle between mind and heart
tara- taras mind is full of ire, cold and chilling as ice while her heart was still holding out on an ember of fire- the passion, companionship and care for the man her mind seeks to destroy.
i hope tara redeemed herself in eyes of all mj fans todayš she redeemed herself in my eyes but not for preserving mjs photos alone but for actually using her mind. !!!!!! her initial anger and betrayal has somewhat ebbed and now gears are turning in that head of hers. she wants truth and wants it at all costs. it is going against her very nature to be so cold blooded but how else could she protect that small kernel of warmth in her heart that still exists for her friend?. i thought it will take tara a little bit more to actually think this much but iam glad with this happening sooner. kudos to creative team. you guys give me a new reason everyday to applaud youšāļøš.
her deliberate jabs at mj, and her contemplation alone were well shown. chhavi did a brilliant job today šš. her guilt in front of baba when he told her of the significance of the photos was palpable. she almost had confessed . and would have coz thats what tara is at heart. a person who cant see another hurt coz of her.
the way she was battling with herself when mj said it was fault. it was a reflex to think he did that to save her scrutiny and hurt but immediately her mind had to whisper he had ulterior motives.
that particular scene reminded of an old anecdote- once a king , in a fit of some misguided love for felines had ordered all his ministers to take home a cat and look after it. all the ministers obeyed him except for one. that man would everyday put hot scalding milk in front of the cat. each time poor cat would try to drink but get burnt in the endeavour. it continued so long that when the man actually kept cold milk infront of the cat, it refused to go near , so great was its fear of getting burnt. thats exactly whats happening here. tara has been hurt too many times that she is far gone to see what she has always been able to - that her dear hubby actually cares for her.
dont worry tara bacchhu , truth is lying right around the corner and you will soon see it!
mj- if taras battle is tough mjs battle is definitely tougher.
his mind is also cold but just towards his own self. he knows in his mind that he is in too deep. he is stuck and the only way out seems death. it was practical, logical and hence cold in its own way. for whatever reason, he has taken on this burden, knowing full well he is gonna be destroyed. baba had forced him to marry and he had only agreed to under duress and with a promise to self that he will not let an innocent girl face the ire of society in being his wife.
and yet since tara, his heart has been seeking warmth- warmth of a smile, of concern and care - things for which he was starved all life. despite his best efforts, the ice prison around his heart is being melted and he is doing his best to not let that happen. coz for him, if it happens, he will start to hope for himself and for her, something he is forbidden to do.
i dont think mj is realising this but he is failing all of taras tests.- yes i say all the jabs and hurt she is heaping on him a test- to see who the real mj is and mj is failing every step . all his previous efforts to prove himself bad in front of her are slowly and surely being overshadowed by each and every reaction/ lack of it - listening to her jabs silently, taking blame for her acts is showing tara that his tormentor act is just that, an act. mj , its a loosing battle, man! give up and open your heart, you both deserve it.
the last scene where mj is speaking to marya deserves a special mention. it was brilliantly directed and performed. mj is a broken man at heart and it was so well emphasised here. and the way he held on taras red rumaal. and his fear and acknowledgement that he is afraid that he has gone a step too far regarding tara that he had destroyed the very warmth and sweetness of her soul was so touching. i dont know if anyone noticed but it is mjs first outright acknowledgement of the fact that tara means something to him when he voiced his fear for her.
it was his declaration of sorts and for now we will have to hold on to that and so should tara.his lament that shouldnt he, a man at deaths door step with no future and no great past deserve a bit of warmth and peace for himself in his present was heart breaking. his pain over the lost photos and memories associated with them palpable . he was lying to himself when he said he was happy she is taking revenge like this and he knew it in his heart. and once again when tara taunted him , the sorrowful acceptance with which he listened to her was heart breaking.š.
i have only one curoisity, has tara heard all of his monologue? i wish to god she did coz that may atleast soften her strikes on him if only by a minisicule amount.
so lets see who wins- the fire of love, hope and friendship in their hearts or the ice-cold and dark hopelessness(mj) and hate(tara) thats holding their minds and lets hope ice doesnot win and will melt in the fire.
