Hi Guys,
Do two wrongs make a right? Is Abuse of any kind justified, if the reason behind the abuse is valid or legitimate? Is there any excuse that would justify abuse? Everyone wants revenge for something or the other when they were wronged, but how many of us actually act on it, but even more important, but when does the reason behind the reason stop being a justification for that revenge? Is it all right for one to use a third party to carry out their revenge, or to lump everyone in one category and consider everyone your enemy, simply because of what one person did to you? Let us explore these issues in these last few episodes that were aired November 8 through November 11, 2013, that we have seen of Ek Boond Ishq:
Your my way in
We finally find out that Yug was never what he seems, he was trying to get into Nandu and her mum's good books, and now that he has achieved this he wants to get into the Shekawat's house for some reason. Most likely he has been wronged by someone, who could be Rudra or Adi and so wants to get revenge.
We are still hoping that he won't be Mr bad guy and actually only be out for revenge, but we will know as the story progresses.
However one has to wonder whether he is the one that told the jeweller about the jewellery and had Tara put into such a fix or whether it was barely the fact that the bangles had been recognized?
The cards are falling down
The cards that Nirmala is building a house with scatter. Rudra takes this opportunity to ignite problems. He tells Nirmala unless she sorts out MJ, Adi might lose his place on the throne, as he is fast seeing MJ take it. Nirmala becomes concerned and Rudra leaves warning her to take action before it's too late. Of course, Nirmala being not as smart as she seems to love showing herself to be decides to take action. She over hears MJ saying that he is going to Indore and like a small child runs to Bhaisaab to tell him what she knows, not realising that poor Rudra is sweating at the thought of MJ going to Indore and finding out that Rudra and Jairaj's dad is still alive. However, when Nirmala points out that if the police were to be informed MJ would be caught and put back in jail as he is not allowed to travel out of state. Of course Mr. Smarty pants gets Nirmala to inform the police of what MJ has done, thus covering his backside just in case anyone were to investigate.
The final trump card
I would rather be your enemy
And show you my love,
Than be you lover,
And show you pain.
I would rather you see the world,
Than be by my side.
My own refuse to stand by me,
Have turned me away,
So how can I be your aide?
Hate me all you want,
I won't complain,
Instead I will be behind you,
The way your shadow follows you,
I will protect you,
And be destroyed,
Thinking only of you.
Having tried everything to get Tara away from him, and now realising that she is the same girl that he is fast falling in love with, MJ decides to take action. Having received a call that the family bangles have been sold he decides to use it to his advantage and take Tara on a date. Tara on the other hand is scared as she knows what he is like, and despite Meethi's consolations, is apprehensive about the date. MJ takes her and manages to pretend to be worried about her. However he chucks her off the cliff and leaves her there to make her way back. Once she is back he accuses her of all manner of things, and out of them the one thing that would really hit home with her and make her leave, "For money you would even sleep with a man!" And as expected, Tara finally breaks and realises that she has to get out of this abusivee relationship.
Domestic Abuse Worldwide
Brilliant Saba in terms of letting women know that abuse is not to be tolerated. Saba has managed to show us abuse not in one way but in many different ways.
Husband and wife: Mj is abusing Tara and is making her feel weaker and weaker in the relationship however not wanting to hurt her FIL she is accepting this abuse. But whilst accepting it she is further falling into the trap until her friend advices her that a person that accepts abuse is more liable then the one causing it.
Mother and son: Most people would say that abuse cannot ever be possible by a woman, but they are wrong, women can emotionally, and situationally cause abuse. And that has been exactly what Nimmo darling has done to MJ throughout the years, to secure her son Adi's future, and knowing that MJ wants her to treat him like a son, she abuses the relationship by emotionally blackmailing him and by making him feel crap about his own self.
Father and Son: This has been seen recently, although currently sketchy and something that we might have read wrong, but it seems that Rudra was abused mentally and possibly physically for being different to others. He was rejected by his father, or so it seems and was made to feel inferior and to see his brother become more important than him because of the defect he has been alleged to have.
Now in all the above situations, Tara has not changed much as she is able to understand what is happening and has taken the right decision. MJ has had the love from his Baba if not from his mother, but he has always been rejected by Tauji and Nirmala.
That leaves us with Rudra, what could possibly have happened in his life to make him the way he was? He has become broken and rejected and from that he has risen back up an evil monster. Obviously if his dad has in any way or form rejected and/or abused him for being different, then he will be partly to be blamed for the way Rudra has turned out. But does that excuse Rudra's actions; is it fair for him to be the way he is? We don't think it is. One wrong does not make another wrong right. Every person has a moral compass within them and an inner voice that tells them the difference between wrong and right, and when a person supresses the right voice and follows the wrong one guiding him down the wrong path, then the person morally takes the decision to become bad. Nothing can ever excuse killing and abuse; if he were to have hurt his dad only, one would say fair enough, he hurt the person that tried to hurt him, but why is he taking revenge on many others?
My friend my foe
I was in your debt,
Until my world came tumbling down.
Betrayal is only achieved,
When you give your trust away
I held your sadness in my hands,
I showed you light,
Only to find,
You were my darkness.
I wanted to walk side by side,
I wanted to take away your pain,
Only to be left broken.
I took your hand in mine,
And without realising I was killing myself,
While breathing life into you.
As our dear friend, ddFan2012 predicted, Tara decides to run to her friend for help. Although really sad to watch her in so much pain, there was black humor as to how she runs to the very person that has been abusing her, for help.
MJ seems quite reluctant to help her, but then realizing that he has helped her all along, what would be better justice for him than to now help her runaway from himself?
If noted closely, one sees that he is quite bitter and it seems just a teeny weeny bit jealous of the friend, who really is him. Quite an ironic twist of fate we would say.
They both leave together but soon have the police on their back. MJ even gets hurt in the process in an accident, trying to get away from the police, however poor Tara assumes that her "dost" is going through all this trouble for her, when in reality he is trying to keep police out of his way. Unfortunately for him, everything crashes down when the police finally catch up and Tara is shown his picture.
At this point it is interesting to note that she is about to tell them where he is but something stops her from doing so. We believe that it is this something that will later help her to understand him better and to finally put some of the pieces together. Please note that in that instant where they are staring at each other, her with the feeling of being betrayed, and shattered innocence, and trust, and him with regret in his eyes, one can see their spark of chemistry and what binds them together.
She confronts MJ, and thank God, for once a woman finally smacked her husband. He rightly deserved it and the ringing of the slap was like a balm to our hearts. While one can understand his reasoning, the method he chose to achieve his goal was wrong. And that is still wrong. There is never any justification for abusing someone.
It should be interesting to see where it goes from here.
Will they go home and once again give Tauji the shock of his life, or will they be stuck wherever they are hiding from the police whilst MJ tries to explain to her why he did what he did?
Will they be stuck wherever they are with MJ refusing to tell her anything and pushing her away which would in turn make her realise something is up or will Saba end up surprising us once again with something different?
Thank you for reading us, and please leave us with your thoughts and comments on our view. We really appreciate all of your comments and suggestions, insights and thoughts.
Ciao, guys we hope to catch up with you soon!!!!!
