Varaali
Thanks for the update. As it is, SP has caused the attendance in this forum to go down, and now, it looks like we'll start losing our updaters if this continues for much longer.
While much of the episode itself was to a point funny, there are things about the depiction of Krishna/MM that really turned me off, by which I mean, there wasn't even a funny side to those things. Yeah, it was funny when he told her that the queen wanted to learn the flute, which she didn't, and it would have been funny had the queen been ordered to start taking lessons. But what turned me off was MM suggesting to Paundrak that he ban flute playing by anyone other than the 2 of them (does that include Harinath as well, or is the latter safe due to his living in Kashiraj's kingdom?) and causing the persecution of innocent flute players, who may not even be worshipping Krishna.
I agree w/ Debipriya - w/ the Mahabharata parts, since that story is well known, chances are that they will mess less w/ it. Paundrak's story - in RS SK, if I recall right, they showed Hanuman being the one who killed Paundrak - have no idea where that one is from. So they had the scope of making things up here due to the fact that many don't know Paundrak's story (aside from his masquerading as the real Bhagvan Vasudev) and unfortunately did 😡
So does Bolt Jr (nice name, Varaali! 😆) join Amod, Ramiya in our list of fictional characters? I think they should have a track of just fictional characters like these, so that they can do whatever they like, instead of adulterating real stories w/ such bakwas.
Vik, not only did faith in Lord Krishna save the priest, it's probably even keeping our updaters still sacrificing and watching this, although I won't blame them if Shiva/Sati successfully lure them. What I did on Friday was I watched the first segment of DBSK, then during that commercial, switched to DkDM, and after it ended, switched back. Mnx, on days that you're not updating, maybe you can try that and spare yourself your sister's torture 😆
Also, I think Debipirya was referring to Sishupala, who was the only one who had a sin count associated w/ him due to Krishna's vow to his bua Shrutashrava to forgive him 100 times. And it was in this life only - Hiranyaksha's & Ravana's sins didn't count against that - or else, Sishupala's life span would have been negative 🤪 So as usual, SP has extrapolated that to have sin counts - or pots of sins if you will - assigned to Durdhar. Incidentally, given that Vishnu had told Bhudevi that he'd let Narakasura live through @ least the entire Treta Yuga, one would have thought that if anybody other than Sishupala would have had a sin count associated w/ him, he definitely would have.
Speaking of which, if they've not found their Draupadi, maybe they should bring back Sishupala and show invented stories of him abducting princesses, disrupting yagnas or whatever (actually, in SB, during the Rajasuya Yagna, Krishna recounts some of Sishupala's sins to the court b4 killing him). But yeah, this one would at least not be in direct conflict w/ the texts.
