Since the update is not up as yet, I'm doing a quick one for today.
The days pass, the guards are outside gleefully anticipating the orders to burn down the house 😡 while Duryodhan, Shakuni & Dushashan are playing dice, and discussing their plans to burn down the place. Shakuni tells Duryodhan to practice lamenting, so that he can more successfully fake his grief once the Pandavas die.
Outside the house of lac, after 5 days, the senapati tells his companions that the orders have come to burn down the place tomorrow, and Arjun overhears it. He goes and tells his brothers & Kunti what he heard. Time was not on their side anymore.
The miners find that there is a part of the shaft that can't be broken, and report the problem to the Pandavas. They are very apologetic but claim that w/ the best of their efforts, they've not been able to dent the rock, and chances are that the team from the other end probably can't do it either - it's impossible. Bhima gives a lecture about how nothing is impossible 😆👏 and offers to go w/ them. Arjun too offers to join, but Bhima advises him to stay w/ the rest, and come up w/ a credible explanation for his absence whenever the Pandavas go outdoors or otherwise show themselves. Yudhisthir tells Arjun that what Bhima is suggesting is appropriate, since they do need to feign that things are normal.
Bhima accompanies the miners, and they show him the point where the rock cannot be penetrated. Bhima takes their crowbar and tries, but he too can't do it. He then meditates on Dwarkadheesh to help him succeed in this, and Krishna hears his prayer and says 'So be it'. Bhima then resumes the attempt, and the rock shatters. The miners are impressed 👏 Krishna is admiring this, while Bhima keeps digging on, chanting Krishna's name.
In their room, Kunti is worried about Bhima not having returned, and thinking about how tired & hungry he must be. 😕 and sends Yudhisthir to get him. Yudhisthir goes and finds Bhima working alone. He asks him about the miners, and Bhima tells him that he gave the miners some time off to rest 👏 Yudhisthir tells him that he too must be tired and hungry, but Bhima tells him that at a time like this, he's neither in the mood to eat nor rest. He is burning w/ anger @ the Kauravas challenging their very essence of their existence, and says that until he's cleared the tunnel and ensured that their exit route is clear, he was not going to have even a drop of water.
Satyabhama enters Krishna's room and sees that he's not eaten. On being asked, Krishna tells her that when his dear Bhima is toiling away tirelessly, how can he eat (this time, they didn't show the TV. I thought Krishna was captivated by the scene of Bhima not eating - something inconceivable to anyone 😆) He tells her that Bhima has forgotten all about eating or resting, and is plugging away @ his work under the impression that Krishna is w/ him, and Krishna never lets down his devotees. He is watching and making sure that Bhima succeeds in making headway.
Comments: Today was Vrikodara's day, and I loved the episode. I'll reveal my bias here - Bhima is my favorite Pandava. So it was impressive seeing him first yell @ that treacherous senapati and order him to cook (that's a senapati's job? 😲🤣) and then give the miners a bhashan on impossibility. I was somewhat surprised that he didn't use his mace for this, but just their crowbar. And when he told Yudhisthir that he was not hungry, Yudhisthir must have thought that Duryodhan had planted an imposter. 🤣
I was less than impressed w/ Yudhisthir, and appalled @ Kunti. She is acting like Bhima is still a child - wondering about his hunger and fatigue when the very survival of all of them is at stake. And Yudhisthir - the real Yudhisthir would have commended Bhima on giving the miners rest and doing the work himself, not ask him about his own hunger or fatigue. This statement was very uncharacteristic of Yudhisthir.
Another thing - why not make Nakula & Sahadev more active, instead of having only Arjun report what's going on near the river, or spying on the senapati? But I do like the CVs spreading out the roles of the Pandavas at least b/w Yudhisthir, Bhima & Arjun.
