Like I said I took a lot of liberty in switching things around for this story. Radhika is not a small town girl in this story, but her characteristics are the same as DYM Radz - in essence she has the same values. Just wanted to show that you don't have to be from small town in India to be raised in that manner. Further, while she is naive and innocent, she has travelled the world with her family and has a different outlook on life. She has had a humble upbringing even if she comes from an educated middle class family. As for her parents' birthplace, it will be explained a bit further in the next chapter.I didn't want the whole theme of "girl trying to find a way in life" etc etc ... Rather I wanted to depict how mature characters who are comfortable in their values and element, interact and grow. I made Neil a very positive character, despite the fact that his parents are divorced and he never had a father figure in life. But he has this amazing quality of seeing glass half full. This optimism is something that connected him to Radhika instantly, and that's why they share that friendship bond. In essence, they are very similar to each - birds of the same feather!Arjun, while he is very accomplished in his career and owns a thriving business, has turned his back on happiness. He has never had a chance to grieve properly - when his father passed away, he was being strong for his mother and still coming to terms with everything, his mother was diagnosed with cancer. He is miffed with life in general ... because while he may have everything, money and accomplishment wise, he doesn't have a family. There is no revenge here ... just a person engulfed in his own darkness.Sam ... will be there in the next chapter 😊.
