I am a silent member of this forum although I have followed the show almost regularly.
Yesterday, I got to know Manmarziya is coming to an end n I was shocked...First Jodha Akbar n now this...
The thing that shocked me the most is this show was only four or five months old n it's coming to an end for just TRPs!!
Should they not have given some extension?
I started watching the show bcoz of Aham Sharma...but was really really impressed by the freshness of the serial...
Story of an author!! I took interest immediately...Samaira's character was a brilliant contrast to the quintessential bahus of TV who go on giving test after test to prove themselves as the ideal bahu...Kashmira was brilliant in her portrayal n I was really impressed with her acting n beauty. But I guess, the grey, vulnerable heroine is not acceptable in our country which believes only simple, middle class girls can do all the great things n city girls are always uncultured.
Then Radhika...though Monica has still a long way to go, I found her to be promising in the first episode.
All actresses go through immense transformation in the industry n I believed the same would happen to her as well.
I was impressed when the CVs gave Radhika the scope to act n behave in a way different from the typical 'middle-class goody goody heroine'. When the show's ending was declared I saw a lot of people saying a lot of things against Monica as if she herself is the director, writer n actor of the show...but that is really really unfair bcoz she's a newcomer. If veterans couldn't make a difference then how do we expect a newcomer to change things?
Shravan is simply brilliant as Neil...I have seen people here commenting on his 'girlish looks' but girlish or boyish, I loved his acting. Period. His innocent yet firm portrayal of the best friend of a vulnerable girl like Samaira was brilliant.
Finally Arjun. Well I started watching the show bcoz of him...n I think Aham has never looked better.
The spikes, the glares, the polo T-shirts...I loved him. And wat a voice.
There were moments when I felt his acting is slightly one-dimensional with the same intense looks all the time but nonetheless, I loved him as Arjun n still love him... 😳
The problem started when the CBs messed up with the storyline suddenly n from the author's story, it became the typical angry boss n talkative assistant love story...While I prefer Aham with Kashmira more, onscreen I prefer Ardhika more than Samarj.
So basically I am an Ahamira n Ardhika fan... 😆 And yes, Neil n Sam's friendship is just awesome.
Initially I was disappointed with the shifting of the story n not focussing on the author's story, but I started enjoying the serial from Lonavala track...Since then I secretly became an Ardhika shipper n saw potential in their pairing which I hadn't seen before.
One thing that impressed me most was the music. The songs of this serial are brilliant n so like those of movies.
Be it 'Aansuo bhi galti' or 'Khwaihishon mein likhi'...the songs are just so much progressive for a TV serial.
Now all that is coming to an end. It is true that the CVs had messed up the characterisations but they could have resurrected the characters by making changes in the script. Why were they not given the chance?
Personally I loved the Nandini track, Shilpa being my favourite. The only mistake they made is they made the revenge story very weak...The whole reason for Arjun to take revenge is quite shallow...They could have shown some other story...nonetheless, I liked Ardhika marriage. They could have utilized this marriage n shown something interesting but the CVs wasted it. Even then, the show had potential...despite the ruining of characters n storyline, they could have ressurrected it with better storyline...but unfortunately, they didn't get the chance.
I guess our Indian audience is still obssessed with saas-bahu mindset. Unless the female lead is giving one exam after another in her sasural n saving the day for everyone, the serial is a flop. Either it has to be a saas-bahu saga or absolute mindless youth comedy, where the lead characters have no other work than falling in love posh college settings...
Anything in between is a flop...
I guess...unless the mentality of the Indian audience changes we will never have any improvement in the quality of our shows...
