I am catching up on DYM initial episodes which I missed. I must say the drunk scene in hrishikesh was outstanding...in that scene you realize that both are very very close buddies and would do anything to keep each other happy.

I also don't know why many people thought otherwise but it was obvious that they were going to end up as a pair on the show.

i wish someone would make a FF on their love confession if that had happened

i agree. they wouldn't have been happy with anyone else and if they did go with someone else, a part of them would have died. sam could never have been the drunk, bhojpuri movie watching gal pretending to be pregnant to get a ride with arjun and neil's entire world was sam. he came alive when he knew she was part of it even as a friend. if you look at all of the times sam tried to propose, she needed neil with her because she couldn't do it would him at her back and without him in her life. when she was hurt post piyali fight, neil was with her as her pillar...sort of like for better or for worse. he cleaned her nose for her.
