In Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi, the lead actor, Shakti Arora, though an experienced actor, looked incredibly awkward in some scenes initially. Now if u watch him, its like Ranveer is a facet of his, he depicts onscreen.
Aham too is a brilliant actor. Once he properly adjusts, he would stop looking stiff.

OMG an RV/Shakti fan here😳

I have to agree. But my only qualm is that, Aham owned the role of Karn in Mahabharat, which is an even more complex and multilayered character than Arjun ever will be. But here, it feels like he's struggling to get his nuances right since playing Arjun must be a piece of cake for an actor of Aham's caliber. I love the guy and that's why I actually bother to comment on his acting chops.

He is doing an awesome job ... i mean i cant imagine this character in any other actor ... The character of ajun is very complex .. very enigmatic very... its like.. arjun is a stiff charracater a character that hasnt seen sunshine in his life ... ( poeticall speaking ) nor he likes sweets... or sth sweet... sugercoated... so that is the Arjuns character ... What say guys ???? please share your views ...

PS. plese dont throw chapalls at me

I love Aham as Arjun. I don't think is acting is lacking in anyway, but I think the directing is lacking. there were scenes where it appeared Arjun was not connecting .. e.g.. his first meeting with Nandini at the hospital,, there was not warm or emotional connection ( in my opinion at least) between the two. I think that was the director, and not Aham. 😳

His characters made monotonous .. unfortunately in Mahabharata also he was to serious and all victimized.. so directors have to make shades in characters and give more expressions
But he is nice when he smiles...

He has an ITA award (the baap of all indian television awards) in his pocket...ITA's are only given to the actors who are not just good actors but they are excellent in their respective characters...

so ppl questioning his acting abilities needs a reality check...

Aham portrayed Karna very well. Problem is In DYM he has thrice more screen space than in Mahabharat and this character is much different and yet similar to the previous.
Though the character of Karna had many shades, Mahabharat stilted the role, cutting it to an extent that only the negative emotions of pain, anger and sadness were expressed. Even his beautiful love story got compressed to a one day episode.
In DYM, he has to portray both his angst as well as light heartedness. I found that in scenes he is supposed to smile and laugh, his acting goes stiff.
In the balcony scene, huddled in blanket, he laughed lightly. The scene was beautifully etched, but I found his laugh forced.
That's why I say that some time will be needed for him to settle in Arjun's skin. Once he does that, Arjun Mehra will be one of the most loved Grey Anti-Heroes in Television World, right next to ASR, MSK, RK etc
