Who is a real man. I mean the ideal man.
2015's DDM is reminding me of 90s movies or movies they used to make before that. When if a rapist used to marry the girl he would get not only a place as a hero but also the girl started to love him. Except that there was only one option for a rape victim or single mother =suicide/killed.
After Keya Kehna the situation slightly changed.
But there were movies were heroines used to slap hero or insult him because he insulted her first or for some stupid reason. Then the hero used to abduct the heroine. Take her to a lonely place with straw, grass, no human, usually in a jungle like Arjun took. After that he used to tear -------usually her sleeves. Arjun didn't do that . Because fortunately Radhika had no sleeves in her dress. 😳 Then the guy used to come over the body of that frightened helpless girl( who once slapped him), threaten her what he is capable of. Like Arjun threatened Radhika-------You don't know me, how bad I can be. Radhika too reacted like it was going to be... then all the audience used to get worried. Nervous. Gentle men used to leave the room. Women freaked out------oh poor girl. The hero who was burning in ego/anger/ hormonal disaster suddenly used to change his mood( may be he that time realized that----------uska dum nehi or woh nehi 😉). And there was one common dialogue from him-------Yeh hota hai aasli mard. Has desire to commit a crime, has hormonal problem-----but...woh nehi. Man!
Well Arjun didn't go that worse. But he left her alone. Went home. Disturbed the girl. Whom he wanted to hurt. He wanted to ruin her life. Cheated with her. Manipulated her and still has a strong intention to destroy her and her entire family. But he is not ashamed of what he did already to that poor girl( who's father, another man was most probably the mentor of Arjun).
Then he went to sleep and can't sleep. Because his dream and subconscious mind made him realize that he didn't do right to Radhika. Meanwhile Radhika could be eaten by a tiger, killed or can be abducted or more. Later he runs to save her. Beat a stranger----------and now he is the hero. Just like 90s or before that.
Thankfully if Arjun is category A.
There are 2other options.
B- Man who sacrifices their entire life to take care of the family. Parents, wife, children etc-------an aam admi. Like Radhika's father. Who has an unsuccessful father. We saw that his childhood wasn't so good. He told that he and his mother had to suffer, he had to take the burden of the entire family on his shoulder at a very early age. Because Daddy was a dreamer. Is this man a real man?
C- These are those guys who stay as a friend. Helps and protects their girls from getting sad or upset. Wipes their tears. Let them fulfill their dreams. Although they might be nothing. Like-Dadaji. May be a chaddi man, may be a loser grandpa. But they try their best to protect and help the girls around them. In fact while I was comparing with Arjun's behavior towards Sam/Radhika. I was finding Neil almost like a blessing. Sam was crying, she was terrified and helpless. Finally she was trying to smile. But that mad guy wasn't letting her. Because he thinks just like her Dad(may be, we don't know Samrat was a bas***d or not)------girls are helpless. So use them. Take revenge for whatever the reason is. On the other side that Chaddi guy is dancing like a monkey, playing like a stupid to wipe tears from Sam's eye. Trying best to bring her confidence back. It made my respect for Neil's caharacter more. Isn't he the best man?
