Samaira and Arjun: Their Dynamics!

Dosti means Friends Forever = Sam and Neil / Sam and Radhika

Yariyaan means Friendships = Radhika is 1^st Sam's friend then becomes Neil's friend and now Arjun who only wants to be close to Sam will be thrown into the circle of friendship with everyone... but before all that, Arjun was Sam's friend 1^st, the oldest friendship between all of them.

Manmarzian means Desire = Arjun desires Sam, despite plans of revenge / the desire for revenge against Sam, either way Sam is always within his radar. Sam craves her mother's affection and forgiveness. Radhika desires independence and Neil feels this constant urgent need to protect Sam.

The dialogue during Arjuns khatarnak act with Radz, he says he has been waiting a long time for this moment (with Sam) and he won't let go of her...he always goes back to stating this in many different ways, about not letting go of her, coz if he lets go then she will run away from him, it keeps nagging me (I think when he was younger he always saw himself as belonging to Sam, and vis a vis perhaps when they were teenagers he faced rejection from her and is a lover scorned and this time he is not letting her slip through his fingers again) or he is just using the attraction between them for his great Revenge scheme.

The dynamic between Arjun and Radhika does not give off good vibes. We all have that 1 friend who is skeptical about their friend's new interest...and Arjun appears to be diabolical in nature, more, than the hero type, he could be a threat to Radhika because she causes a risk to his plan if she is always watching his every move.

Chemistry between SamArj is palpable, they ooze sex appeal together...the build-up between the 2 of them is something that cannot go unnoticed.

But Sam even though she is rendered stupid by Arjuns charm, she is still a feisty chica who gives as good as she gets...I love how real she is!

Arjun is definitely going to fall in love with Sam properly by peeling away her layers that Radhika is going to support him with.

I think the PH is playing with the dynamics of the characters, as in testing everyone's chemistry with each other before the jodi's get cemented in our hearts, also audience feedback plays an integral part, and with SamArj fans and RaNeil fans set in stone, I think we just have to wait until they finish their quota of "already shot" scenes

If I had to compare this friendship to anything then let's say Vampire Diaries, bear with me Im still getting over the season ending...

Neil is Stefan - the good brother

Radhika is Caroline - good and pure and always sees the good in people

Sam is Elena - family issues have messed her up

Arjun is Damon - bad boy in need of redemption

Stefan and Elena happened for a while but she couldn't resist Damon and her heart was never the same.

Sam and Neil are friends but her attention is captured by Arjun.

Damon used Caroline for a while there, now they are Frenemies.

I can see Arjun using Radhika to further his ends to get closer to Sam; His Goal.

But it's typical to want Damon and Elena to be endgame, good girl and bad boy...and Stefan and Caroline are besties turned lovers.

Hey Arishma! I agree with almost all of your post except for the TVD part lol [@Bamonforever LOL] I have never liked Elena but Sam I absolutely love.

I agree with the way you described Samaira and Arjun's dynamics. There's something to be said about a person who has for years and years harbored desires for revenge that is tinged with hate for Samaira/family and yet still reminisces about a memory that can be considered warm because of its happy outcome - little Arjun welcomed by little Samaira into her group. Arjun is so obsessed with Samaira that barely anything else seems to register when she's in the room. That kind of obsession laced with attraction isn't something that jus fades off as if it never happened. As for Samaira, she already is pretty damaged on the inside with all he grief and guilt overwhelming her and Arjun's plans for her are going to change her forever. Further, even if not intentionally, Samaira has allowed Arjun into her personal space when she has been pretty emotionally vulnerable and hasn't even allowed her best friend to enter it. That kind of emotional intimacy allowed to another person is not going to be something she can erase because of how private she is about sharing her emotions/family problems. Arjun, however, is going to have a difficult time because the fire in Sam is too strong for him to squish out. She maybe be attracted to him but she surprises him each time she doesn't worship his feet or succumb to him easily. Samaira and Arjun will never be "just friends" or "just acquaintances" because their dynamic is irreversible and there is too much emotional investment involved - regardless of the exact emotion itself to not be able to just pretend like it didn't happen.

Also like you said scintillating chemistry aside, SamArj's story has been built upon since the second week of the show and is probably the most developed plot of the show. It would make no sense for all that buildup and all these scenes if their relationship is going to be simple and of friendship. 😆

Fact: Arjun is consumed by Sam. And for him Radhika is an annoyance.

I can see her developing an unrequited crush on him. With the Sam scenario, I see her walking away from Arjun for Radhika and not the other way around if it comes to that.

But, if they are portraying modern girls today, that we are supposed to relate to, then independent girls are well established within their own right and can make sound judgements, 1 of them being walking away, we don't need the drama.

And my logic tells me that with

1. SamArj having their own BG tune...

2. Neil being Radhikas saviour everytime

3. Radz and dadajis convo parallels with Arjun appearing at the flat.

Sam is a broken bird. With Radhika having a way with words, she will be the song that fixes Sam's wings. When your own family can't support you, your friends are there to hold you together.

Im not gonna ignore the scene with Arjun and Radhika

1. Slow slide of hands down with kumkum,

2. Arjuns flashback of his moment with her angers him

yes, Kumkum symbolises marriage but there was no "maang ki sindoor" even though it fell on Arjun, and Neil pointed Holi out to us, when KumKum falls accidently it's considered as a good omen. They say its shubam, something good is going to happen. Holi signifies the victory of good over evil.

Radhika is going to fight for Sam and destroy the negativity Arjun has and guide him towards the love he has buried for Sam and to accept it.

Right now Arjun is a haunted predator. That's how I see him. There's glimpses of a lighter him that he reveals when he is awe of Sams chutzpah.

I do wonder about the PH though and the consistency in execution of their other shows. Like Balaji, 4Lions, SSM etc based on their other shows they are predictable. Other than Mahabarat and Navya, I have no clue with the way this PH would think.

Content is king, and the most powerful story here is Sam and Arjun's past connection, that can have layers unravelling every time you think 1 issue gets solved another crops up, it's definitely overshadowing the small town girl making it big storyline.

I too think that the writers are flirting with the ideas of the Jodi's but since the audiences have responded well to Sam-Arjun and Radhika-Neil as romantic pairings it would be wise for them to not muck it up and add a love triangle with Arjun/Radhika just to satiate the fantasies of certain fan girls. I already find it ridiculous that the official fan club on twitter is promoting Arjun with both the girls when they very well know it is going to create a big wedge in the friendship between the lead characters Sam and Radz!

Btw as far as characteristics go I think the characters are more on the line of the O.C. Sam is Marisa the girl with mommy issues. Arjun is Ryan. Complicated Dark hero. Radhika is Summer. Sheltered and protected. Neil is Seth coz he just is 😆 And yeah Summer never dated or even kissed Ryan coz she valued her friendship with Marissa so MMZ writers need to steer away from Arjun-Radhika if they have to show any meaningful friendship but you know indian tv. Always keep a ladder ready to jump off the burning building lol.

Hi dear very well writen post but do not agree with TVD analogy as i am stelena shipper and bffs turning into lovers concept doent go well with me because when the romance occurs between lovers sometimes things started turning so heavy and weird..ahh leave aside tvd...

I see more of Chuck & Blair (Gossip Girl) angle here .. two immensely strong personality, faulty and grey comes along, fell in love, go through 10 types of pain, they try to get out and seek happiness somewhere else .. but their love passion attraction everything bring them back together .. they were meant to be ..

I am not saying SamArj is going to be another Chair [No One Can] but these two have these dynamics in them .. both are trying to come out of certain misery .. they will hurt each other in the process, they will destroy each other but they will be in love at the same time

Well I am saying this because I am seeing the potential of such an intense relationship between SamArj .. not typical good-girl-makes-a- baddy-good or a typical love-hate story either .. it can be much more, much better than all these stereotypes .. now it's up to CVs .. CW explores all the unseen sides of a relationship .. I can't say the same about SP .. so let's just see

v.well written post, just hope SamArj is the end game, I'f cvs break them or show Ardhika, Arjun character will be butchered and so would Radhika!!
