Madhu we saw he have some feelings for Sam. I never forget the black room scene how he comforted her. And Sam is also have feelings for him it's not only an attractions. She feel something about him. Yes Arjun definitely has some feelings for sam and many scenes between them proved it...Like him consoling her during the party coz there he did/'t have to fake his feelings as they are lone and no one was there to notice his real feelings...

I think the line is deeper meaning. Why would he burn himself If he is going to destroy Sam. That happens only if you care about the person. I think that now that he don't hate her and Bonnie dialogues that when he first time give presentation on Sam. She said iam seeing love in your eyes not hatred and then she also said kahi pyar ka natak karthe sach main pyar tho nahi hogaya.
