Barkha turns tapori
By Priyanka Bhadani
New Delhi:Life has become a little tough for actor Barkha Bisht these days. The lead actress of Doli Saja Ke on Sahara One is struggling to learn the tapori language to portray her newly introduced double role in the serial.
"Portraying two characters at the same time and on the same show is great fun. I've been enacting the character of Anupama for a long time and suddenly adapting to this roadside character Tia is a bit difficult. The language she uses is the most difficult for me to learn," says Barkha.
However, she enjoyed the scene where Tia, a character influenced from Sridevi's role in Chaalbaaz, enters the serial. "I had to perform a dance sequence on Na jaane kahan se aayi hai from Chaalbaaz. Initially I was too scared, but the energy of Aroona Irani, who directed and choreographed the song, took away all my fears," she says.
Beside practising street lingo and Sridevi's dance number, Barkha is busy matching her steps with her on-screen saas, Mahru Seikh. "I'm participating in the new reality dance show, Saas Vs Bahu on Sahara One. It will be a big rivalry, as 15 saas and 15 bahus will be participating in the show," she says.
While the actress is happy with the way her career is shaping up, she has all the reasons to be happier with a romantic married life.
Life with beau Indraneil Sengupta is like heaven, says Barkha "I don't know about heaven, but I know it cannot be better than living with Indraneil. Love is the most beautiful thing," she adds.
Now that she is well settled in her life and career, does she aspire for Bollywood? "Not at all. I'm very happy with my work profile. I wanted to act and I've got good roles to showcase my talent. If something comes to me then I can think about it, otherwise I don't have any aspirations," she concludes.
