Story before leap (HELP)

So I just found out (courtesy someone's siggy) that Kunal Karan Kapoor is part of this show. Can someone tell me which date his entry happened & also what was the story of this show before his entry?

Good for you...you have found out now...not after much later...would have missed a lot...

This show is basically about various social issues, pre leap it was all about domestic violence, now post leap its focusing on gang rape.

Pre leap it was Urmi's journey from unsuccessful marriage, husband's torture to 2nd marriage n a new life, now its her son Shaurya's journey.

Shaurya is Urmi n Samrat's (Urmi's 1st husband who used to torture her, tried to burn her alive) Son adopted by Urmi's 2nd husband Ishan (Ishan lost his life in the process of saving Samrat)

Shaurya lives with Urmi n Ishaan's family, loves Urmi n Ishaani (Urmi n Ishaan's daughter, his half sister) a lot, he is the owner of AWAJ newspaper

Diya is the star reporter in his office. Shaurya n Urmi's support to Diya after the gang rape is what the ongoing track is all about.

Urmi was married to Samrat for about 4-6 years. During this time, he constantly cheated on her, but she had no idea. They had a son, Shaurya. Eventually, Urmi does come to know, and Samrat's manipulative behavior comes out. He abuses her physically and nearly kills her many times. She leaves him and takes the case to court with the help of Ishaan, Samrat's ex-friend. They prove him guilty and Samrat goes to jail.

Fast forward 6 years. Samrat is let out. Urmi and Ishaan soon realize they love each other and get married. Samrat decides to get revenge on Urmi and Ishaan and lures Ishaan's sister, Tani, to him and they also get married. He tries to make Urmi's life hell but eventually digs himself in a big hole. Urmi finds out and takes advantage of this. She starts to blackmail him saying she will reveal the truth to their family and he'll be kicked out of the house. At this point, Samrat was staying with Tani to mooch off her money since he was broke- he had cheated her many times and lost the money she had given him and had resorted to stealing from her. Urmi had also become pregnant with Ishaan's child.

Samrat decides to kill Urmi so his dark secrets will die with her. However, he doesn't know Urmi told Ishaan everything as well. Ishaan arrives and successfully saves Urmi from the building which Samrat had locked her in and set on fire. But then, Samrat gets trapped in his car due to a leak, and he can't get out. Ishaan decides to save him out of humanity, and he successfully saves Samrat, too. However, he dies in the process.

Samrat is filled with grief over what Ishaan did for him despite how Samrat had hurt the family. He confesses all of his doings during the funeral. He's kicked out, and he goes out to the ocean and drowns himself, committing suicide. Damini, Ishaan's mother, blames Urmi for Ishaan's death. She tries to throw Urmi out, but only stops because Urmi is pregnant by Ishaan.

Then we have this time skip, leading to Kunal Karan Kapoor's entry as Shaurya, Urmi's son with Samrat. This is the start of the current tracks. It starts episode 417 (released June 29, 2015). All the episodes are on the Zee TV website, and I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding them and catching up.
