Except that's not how abortion is legally regulated.

Urmi in this story wanted to have an abortion. That is a key point in this discussion which shouldn't be ignored. We are not talking about other shows which never show the woman taking that decision. She wanted to exercise the legal right given to her but she was not allowed to, instead emotionally manipulated, forced into going back. It will be hell for Urmi soon enough as Samrat can't keep up a great hubby routine for six something months: and realistically a woman in that environment has a high chance of miscarriage in such a volatile and emotional situation.

I opened this discussion because I would truly like to know how others feel, and maybe our posts can help someone who is going through this. Also, the cvs could read our posts and truly see how we feel and the direction we want the show to go in that will be positive for everyone.

I have never been in Urmi's position, but I know I could not have taken Samrat for so long and at this point finding the strength I want her to stick to that and never go back to that house.

The abortion issue I really have two opinions. I think abortion should not be taken lightly, as it is killing a possible life and for some it may be a personal opinion of morality etc. others may just be looking at the logical side.Logically I would say abortion.
My other opinion is that if she does not have the abortion, she can raise this child on her own. Maybe she can let the courts help her to get full custody of the child, based on the abuse she endured in the marriage. I don't truly know her options legally, but I would like to know that either way she will have some rights to live her life the way she pleases without going back to that Monster Samrat.

I agree with you. Urmi should not go back to Samrat, i mean his statement that a woman is useless after she has a child!!! and his arrogance and attitude is unbelievable. He is so cruel and his views on women. And the women on that show, not a single person is supporting her, except for Trisha and to some extent her brother. Her sister in law needs to be taught a lesson as well. But for sure she should not go back to Samrat.
As for the child, yes I too am against abortion, but it is a very individual and personal opinion. Even if she decides to keep the child it should be in her favor and Samrat should also be taught a lesson. I cannot wait for the day when he will be brought down and slapped in the face. Trisha is right when she says that Urmi should not base her decision on her pregnancy. I hope she stays strong and decides not to return to Samrat.

I really hope she does not go back to Samrat no matter what, It would defeat the whole purpose of the show if she want back to Samrat.

I wouldn't blame her if she prefers to abort the child . But she can have her child and be a single mother .
She can do anything but go back to the moron 😡

and ask him...about and tell what all happened with her ..when he was not there...

i am confused but not sad a i know sbb already telled me the upcoming twist ..of ishaan coming as hero to save urmi same in pardes style..
i am really waiting desperately to watch them..again ..as hero and heroin style..😳...

Realistically speaking, it is very hard for a girl like Urmi under any circumstances to be able to move away from her husband, few months after marriage without her family supporting her and without being independent/earning financially. Now, being pregnant it is twice as much harder under the same circumstances. Being pregnant also makes a woman weak psychologically; the hormones have strange effects on a girl. Under such circumstances, I really feel it is hard for Urmi to take any decision without some sort of strong support system. If she moves out, she will have to be shown making hard decisions and choices, plus preparing herself to have a work world not only to earn a living, but to create a new identity for herself. This is what Cvs should show btw, that Urmi finds the courage to do it and face all the hardships and becoming independent both financially and emotionally. It will be a good lesson for countless girls who faces the same kind of abuse daily and society/family do not lend a helping hand, so do not find the courage or encouragement to break lose...but, Urmi needs tp stand up for herself, I personally think abortion should be women's choice and she should take the decision herself without any force - I mean, if Urmi isn't ready to support herself, what is she going to offer a kid?? I agree, not any easy decisions to make..

I agree, I think Urmi is taking abortion too lightly. The fact that her baby will be killed... I don't think it has struck her. Where's the mother in her? I know this baby's father is devil Samrat, but doesn't she feel like keeping HER baby?

But, I understand the other side of the situation also. Samrat thinks of her pregnancy as a victory. He'll just make things worse for her from now on. Even if she is to divorce Samrat and keep the baby, I'm sure Samrat's family will make life hell for her because they would want the baby esp if it's a boy.

What bothers me a little is the fact that there was no scene shown with motherly feelings. Urmi was too soon to decide she wants an abortion. Okay, Samrat is a devil, but what's the fault of the baby? The predicament should have been shown in the serial and then a decision to abort or not to abort should have been reached.

^^ A woman just came back from a horrible situation and if she were to find out she's pregnant, I'm hella sure plenty of them would immediately think of abortion and not motherly feelings.
Not everyone will be happy to know they are pregnant. A motherly feeling is not always present right after learning of pregnancy. Her first reaction was she didn't want this. That's pretty realistic. She doesn't have to have any motherly feelings.

She will now end up getting attached to her child because she's been forced to continue on with the pregnancy. So yeah, she will develop a bond and feelings. But to say that women wouldn't immediately think of abortion but rather only of motherly feelings are putting women in a box.

Kalapi, so true to everything you said. I really want the cvs showing her making decisions for her own life, no matter how hard it is, this would for sure be an example to other women in her situation. Abortion is such a controversial and subjective issue and I too believe every woman should be allowed to make that choice for themselves. It is her body, soul and her own beliefs, spirituality etc. to decide what she thinks is best for her.

I see what you are saying about the Mother in her. However, I sincerely believe that the abuse she endured has messed her up mentally so much, that she is thinking flight and not fight. Also, I believe she is thinking that if she keeps the baby, she will have to go back to Samrat, especially since her family is not being as supportive as they should be. Being abused liked that you are also thinking of the fate of the baby, all sorts of things would run through an abused woman's mind, like the man getting custody and abusing the child and maybe she does not want to look at the child and be reminded of the abuse she endured, some woman can't handle that. So, I know it seems like the Motherhood is not in her, but I think it is the Motherhood in her why she does not want the child to be born under the circumstances.
