I find Urmi to be really annoying. I know for a traditional girl the haldi ceremony must be really important, but the way she was crying was way too dramatic. You'd think someone had died.

Samrat is right in the sense that he should be allowed to live his life the way he wants. Why does he have to go through with all the ceremonies, just because it would make her and her family happy? Why does a person need to compromise on their own beliefs for the sake of others?

His brother was saying that you should let people be the way they want to be in relation to Urmi and her family, but why doesn't that apply to Samrat? He is letting them be the way they want to be, so why can't he be the way he wants to be? Why is it that in Indian shows only the traditional ways are right, and all other points of view are shown in a bad light?

If anyone is wrong it is Samrat's family for lying to Urm's family.

Edit..
A lot of people are addressing Samrat's rude behaviour. I would just like to clarify that I don't support his rude behaviour and think it's horrible the way he talks to people and the way he was talking about Urmi. This post was simply about how people should be allowed to be the way they want to be.

I know people are saying it's just a few rituals, so why can't he just do them? But why does he have to? He said he doesn't believe in them. When a person doesn't have faith in something why should they be forced to do those things? I don't agree that it's ok to force religious rituals on a person. I mean would people be ok if say he made a woman have no rituals? Or he made her follow modern ways? Because I'm sure that's how he would want it.

Honestly, I am finding the character of Sam the most disgusting character I have ever seen on screen. Urmi ko chodo, let's discuss his relationship with his family. The man talks crap to his brother, bhabhi and overall his father like his mouth is a gutter ka warehouse. Today I realized that this nature comes from his momster. This crazy woman watches quietly as her baby monster insults her husband and elder son. I hope his dad grows some spine and fixes his idiot wife and psycho son. Is this mother-son pair for real? Are they from devil's khandaan?? 😡

I find nothing wrong with Urmi crying.

He agreed to get married. Is it so hard to sit through a few rituals that are apparently important? Not only to Urmi and her family but to his own family too. He only has to do them once. Its not gonna kill him.

Samrat is a disgusting creature the way he talks about Urmi. Why doesnt he marry someone of his own status then? Cause they wont take his shit. He wants a woman he walk all over (Urmi). I dislike the way he talks like he's doing a favour of marrying her. She's doing his family a favour the way I see it. I feel sorry for the poor girl already.

His mother is full of shit also.

Yes there is nothing wrong in her crying. It's not about how important haldi is

It's about hurt feelings and being rude

He considers her and everyone else's feelings as insignificant . That's what is wrong his behaviour is self centred . And that's why it's insufferable

Yes! Everyone on this thread has put my thoughts into words.

-Urmi crying: a little over the top for the circumstance - but i think she was crying more for the bigger picture - she's marrying a man that has no time or consideration for rituals which probably mean a lot to her. If they can't even be on the same page for so called mandatory wedding rituals - how will they manage to be on the same page about anything in life?!

-Samrat: I've mentioned this on another thread in this forum - people like Samrat or people with that kind of an attitude should not be getting married. I don't care who you are or how successful you are - if you are that egoistic, chauvinistic, self-absorbed and lacking any compassion - you really shouldn't be entering into a marriage. From my understanding people getting married (arranged or love) should be able to communicate with one another, have respect for each other and be considerate of one another.
Granted Samrat is straight-forward and says what he thinks - he needs to learn how to talk to people - he has no regard for anyone or their thoughts and feelings.

-I'm particularly annoyed with his attitude towards women - right from the incident with Trisha - "girls should dress properly" ummm what world do you live in bro? its not the girls clothes that are a problem is the mentality of men like you. So apparently according to his logic girls that dress in salwar kameez, saree, those covered head to toe should never be molested or taunted or abused - last time I checked many of the abused women were NOT wearing "provocative" clothes. This is going into a different tangent but i think it is an important point to discuss - granted this is just a TV show - but my point is more about the message the show is sending to the masses - just because a girl dresses a certain way does not give men a license to trouble her. The way Samrat is talking just reinforces that regressive mentality that women should be "punished" for choosing to dress a certain way. NOT OK.
-He wants to marry a girl "below his standard" so that he can walk all over her, do as he pleases and expect her to take it coz she should feel grateful to him for taking her as his wife - I'm sorry marriage is about two people - each partner is an equal.
Some people have said that Samrat wasn't always like this and he probably had some event or series of events that made him this bitter. I don't agree - even if someone is bitter they would have a little more sense before shooting off their mouth.
All in all Ishaan seems like a MUCH nicer guy - hope Urmi ends up with him.
