Yup it's in pakistan.. In fact K2 is pakistan's highest mountain peak i guess... not just K2.. karakoram is composed on so many dangerous and difficult to climb mountain peaks... U know.. in fatality rate k2 is in 2nd position... so many mountainners have lost their life to climb in this peak... and the pek is situated in such a lone area that it couldn't be seen from any nearby village or locality unlike everest or kanchemjunga... so many people doesn't even know about thsi peak before...

Yip right answer... Cholungma is chinese name and Sagarmatha is napal.. And there is also another name which is not quite famous... In india Mt everest was called 'Deodhunga' which means the place where gods live... Actually, before the discovery of mt everst as world's highest peak and it was named as everst.. it was famous as Deodhunga in darjeeling area...
