Chapter - 1 Love Express (Varanasi To Delhi )
Part - 2
"Hello," Raghu said followed by a shy smile. He headed towards his seat as he smiled half a smile looking at Antara. He barely felt any comfort in front of her mother and soon he rushed towards his seat. It was d side window seat and as he sat he realized d seat right in front of him was empty. Raghu looked in d direction of their seats wid curious eyes, hoping 4 antara 2 cme and join him herself. The eagerness 2 know her , 2 talk 2 her, was soaring in Raghu. But dere was no sign of het approaching him. He switched his I- pod on, hummed d song dat played and shut his eyes in order 2 rejuvenate himself. every bit of his mind was still captured by d thoughts of antara. he had just lingered 4 few minutes in dat posture wen raghu was hideously distracted by a pantry man whose extra loud voice dat said "Nescafe" ruined him out of d ordinary nap. he opened his eyes in slow and steady motion along wid impending lined on his forehead. once my eyes were back 2 active he found someone on d seat right in front him. who else it cud be ? She was d one 4 whom Raghu had waited and eventually dozed off- antara. Antara adjusted her brownish hai at d back of her head. 4 a moment . he thought he was merely hallucinating before he realized it was indeed Antara.
"I'm sorry , dese pantry people r s loud," Antara said
"No , dat's ok wen did u cme and why didn't u wake me up?" Raghu sounded much faster dan he had wanted.
"Just few minutes back . I wanted 2 , but u seemed 2 enjoy ur sweet nap so I refrained." Antara said nonchalantly . ( Raghu wondered if she knew she was d sole thought in his sweet nap as well.)
"It was certainly quite refreshing." he admitted wid a shy smile as he thought over wat he said.
"So I am sure u made d more of dis trip." She asked as she looked into Raghu's eyes wid higher intensity.
"Not really, just dilly- dallied, didn't quite hang out wid friends . Yeah I didn't miss 2 go 2 ghats," Raghu answered as his gaze entered deeper into antara's eyes. She scrutinized his eyes as she broached d subject of raghu's mother's demise; it had been six months since she had passed away. his eyes suddenly fell as my whole mood changed.
"It must hve been so difficult , but wat caused her death?" she asked
Raghu spent a few seconds looking here and dere; he always needed strength 2 talk about d pain.
"That day she woke up wid fever, we thought it was nothing but just some common fever. she had been on bed taking rest and den she got up 2 go 2 washroom , she fainted. I ran and held her in my arms while m father phoned his doctor friend. unfortunately, he was out of town so we rushed her 2 d hospital. She remained dere 4 a few hours and she seemed 2 be getting better." After a pause Raghu spoke again," doctors declared her fine; it was just a minor stomach infection. we brought her home; and while taking rest she called of us . she looked at me wid those eyes as if she was seeing me 4 d last time. her breath became abnormal, and den there was no movement in her. We rushed back 2 d hospital but..." Now Raghu had no words 2 say, his voice chocked . It was quite unusual on his part 2 talk about his anguish wid someone his was barely close 2 . it was d kind of grief about which he had never spoken 2 anyone, not even 2 those who were always around him. Antara remained silent 4 a few minutes; Raghu needed those minutes of silence anyway. she observed he had escaped into a world where he was full of my miseries and despair, she leaned forward 2 look into his eyes. antara tried 2 meet my eyes as she said, "Raghu , not even in my imagination I can extinguish ur pain. I know how unbearable it is. but one thing I wud definitely say, who knows wat lies after death? It is very much possible dat d soul of our beloved continues 2 remain wid us. I am sure u know dat d soul never dies. The human body is mortal but d soul is immortal, so dere is a good chance dat she can see u at dis moment. so will u make her feel terrible wid ur sad face.?"
Raghu shook his head. her voice was so tranquil, he wondered whether d way he had seen a goddess talking in a devotional soap was any different . He was attuned 2 people's condolences and sympathies , but she said things dat really eased out of his pain. No one had ever said those words 2 him before. He felt like believing in her, in every word dat she said, and he was clearly doing it as he scrambled out of his sorrowful world unbelievably.
