Part 2

Antara still couldn't believe what was happening to her. She had said yes for the marriage, but she was constantly doubting her decision.

"Mamiji, main Raghu se milna chahti hun," Antara said.

"Tu use milegi Antara beta? Tu yeh shaadi karegi na Antara beta?" Mamiji asked.

"Haan mamiji aap logo ne mere liye itna kuch kiya hai, bachpan se. Ab wakt aa gaya hai ki main aap logo ke liye kuch karun," Antara said. She didn't want to get married but she had to, it was time that she did something for her Mama and Mami.

"Tune mujhe bahut khushi di hai Antara. Main abhi Daya Mai ko phone karke bolti hun ki tu yeh shaadi karne ke liye taiyaar hai, aur haan main unse keh deti hun ki tu Raghu se milna chahti hai!" Mami said excitedly she was happy to get rid of her.

"Hello? Hello Mai??" Saroj said.

"Haan Saroj ji kahiye!" Daya Mai replied.

"Ji woh Antara maan gayi hai, lekin woh ek baar Raghu se milne chahti hai. Aapko koi problem toh nahi hai na?" Saroj said.

"Ji hume kyun problem hogi? Main Raghu se keh deti hun woh aaj sham ko Antara se mile. Aap chinta mat kijiyega, woh usko khud hi lene ayega," Daya Mai said. She was happy that Antara had said yes for the marriage.

"Ji thank you. Main Antara se keh dungi! Ab main rakhti hun," Saroj said and hung up. She looked at Antara and said, "Aaj sham ko Raghu tumhe yahan se pick up karega,tum mil lena usse." She walked away.

Antara slowly went to her room. She was shocked to see how her life was changing. She closed the door and slowly started walking towards her bed. She sat there looking down. Suddenly a drop of tear fell from her eyes and before she could realize, tears started streaming down her cheeks. She wiped them and ran inside the washroom. She washed her face and took a deep breath. She came out of the washroom and took out her clothes for the evening.

"Antara! Antara! Come down fast! Daya Mai ka phone aaya tha, Raghu tumhe lene aa raha hai! Jaldi neeche aao," Saroj screamed.

"Haan maami aayi!" Antara said. She took a deep breath and went in front of the mirror to see if she was looking nice.

Nice was an understatement. Antara was more than beautiful. She was looking like an angel. She was wearing a white salwar kameez and it enhanced her beauty even more. Her hair was left open and she was wearing very simple but beautiful earrings.

She slowly went down the stairs. Everybody was waiting for her. Everyone smiled on seeing her, she was looking beautiful. The doorbell rang and Saroj rushed to open the door.

"Main Raghunath Naik. Woh Antara.." Raghu said he wasn't sure how to finish his sentence.

"Haan haan beta, andar aao na! Antara taiyaar hai," Saroj said excitedly.

"Nahi aunty ji. Meri ek important meeting hai toh main jaldi se Antara se baat kar leta hun. Fir kabhi aaunga," Raghu said.

"Antara!" Saroj called her.

"Ji maami ji!" Antara said nervously and started walking towards the door. She stood beside Saroj and looked down.

Raghu saw her for the first time and realized she is beautiful. Saroj motioned Antara to go with him and Raghu started walking towards his car. He opened the door of the passenger seat and went to the other side and got in. He started the car and looked at Antara and smiled. Antara smiled back. She was nervous. Raghu understood and tried to start a conversation.

"Toh aap apne mama-maami ke saath rehti hai?" he asked politely.

"Ji han," Antara replied. She was a bit happy to know that Raghu was polite.

Raghu and Antara talked to each other for a long time. They were enjoying each other's company. They went to a coffee shop to talk to each other about the decision that they had taken.

"Dekhiye main jaanta hu ki aapke liye yeh decision lena kitna difficult hua hoga. Par main aapse shaadi sirf Sarah ke liye kar raha hun taki usko ek maa ka pyaar mile. Main aapko force nahi kar sakta. Yeh aapka decision hai," Raghu said.

"Haan main jaanti hun. Main yeh shaadi sirf mere mama-maami ke liye kar rahi hun. Aur main poori koshish karungi ki main Sarah ko maa ka pyaar de sakun," Antara said and smiled slightly.

Raghu smiled back. She's such a nice girl.

"Aap apne decision ko lekar sure toh hai na? I mean agar aapko abhi bhi koi bhi doubt hai iss relationship ko lekar toh aap na keh sakti hain," Raghu said.

"Nahi main bilkul sure hun. Aur aap Sarah ki bilkul chinta mat kijiyie, main use humesha khush rakhungi," Antara said and smiled, this time more widely.

"Aur main poori koshish karunga ki aapko humesha khush rakhun aur aapki har zaroorat ko poori karun," Raghu said with a smile.

After an hour Raghu dropped Antara home. Antara smiled and was about to leave when he called her. "Antara!"

"Ji," Antara replied and turned back to look at him.

"Thanks a lot! Apne aaj meri beti ke liye jo decision liya hai uske liye," Raghu said and smiled.

Antara smiled back and was about to walk away when she felt something and turned around..she walked towards him and extended her right hand towards him. "Friends?" she asked sweetly.

"Sure, friends," Raghu replied and shook her hand.

Antara left. Saroj asked her about everything they talked about and got excited. She couldn't wait to get Antara married to Raghu and get rid of her.

"Hello? Daya Mai?" Saroj said over the phone.

"Han Saroj ji! Kahiye! Aap sab thik hai?" Daya Mai replied.

"Ji haan, woh Antara maan gayi hai rishte ke liye toh main soch rahi thi ki kyun na jald se jald unki engagement kara di jaye?" Saroj said.

"Haan zaroor kyun nahi! Do din baad hum unki engagement fix kara dete hain," Daya Mai replied excitedly. She was happy for her son.

"Ji thik hai, main rakhti hun!" Saroj said and hung up.

The engagement was a grand affair...the Naik mansion looked beautiful. The house was filled with guests and everybody was looking for the groom.

In Raghu's bedroom

"Papa," Sarah called Raghu.

"Haan meri princess...papa abhi aa rahe hain!" Raghu replied.

Raghu came out of the bathroom and saw his daughter waiting for him. He went straight up to her and hugged her. Sarah kissed him on the cheek.

"Papa aapko dadi dhundh rahi hain," Sarah said sweetly.

"Haan beta dadi se kaho Papa ready ho rahe hain. Woh abhi neeche aa rahe hain. Okay?" Raghu replied.

"Okay Papa!!" Sarah said and ran downstairs.

Raghu slowly walked towards the table and picked up a photo, which was placed there. It was a family photo of him, his wife Smita and Sarah, who was a baby at that time. A teardrop fell on the photo and Raghu quickly wiped it. He put the photo frame down and got ready.

Raghu walked out of his room and stood just above the staircase when Antara and her family arrived. He looked at Antara and smiled thinking of how sweet she is and the way she became friends with him just after meeting him once. He suddenly realized that maybe his decision of getting married is right. He looked at Antara. She was wearing a red sari and was looking very beautiful. He slowly started walking down the stairs. He smiled at Antara and she smiled back.

They were made to sit together on the sofa. Antara was feeling very nervous suddenly someone called her. "Antara beta!"

She turned around and saw Daya Mai standing with a little girl who was smiling at her. Antara realized that she was Sarah. Antara smiled back and Sarah ran to her.

"Hi Antara aunty!" Sarah said sweetly.

"Hello Sarah!! Aap kaisi ho beta?" Antara asked.

"Main thik hun. Aap mere papa se shaadi karogi?" Sarah asked her sweetly.

Antara got a little nervous hearing her innocent question. "Haan beta, main aapke Papa se shadi karungi," Antara replied and pulled her cheeks a little.

Sarah smiled and kissed Antara on her cheek. Antara hugged her tightly. Sarah ran towards her room. Raghu was continuously looking at her and smiling. Antara turned towards him and smiled back nervously.

It was time for the ring ceremony. Antara nervously held Raghu's hand while putting the ring on. Raghu noticed that her hands were shaking so he gave her a look to reassure her about her decision. Raghu took Antara's small hand in his and put the beautiful ring on her finger. They smiled at each other nervously and everyone applauded with happiness.
