Chapter 23

The entire day had gone by slowly. The orientation was boring and without Raghu, I didn't enjoy it at all. After Raghu dropped me off, he told me that he would pick me up as well. After the orientation, I was waiting for Raghu outside. It was 2 in the afternoon. I had been waiting for 5 minutes when I saw that he was coming. But he wasn't in his jeep that he had dropped me off in morning with. Instead he was on a bike. He stopped in front of me and took his helmet off. "Raghu, tum bike pe kyun aaye? Abhi do din phele tumara accident hua tha. Agar kuch ho jaata toh?" I asked, worried. "Tume meri itni chinta hain?" he asked. "Of course hain, I love you after all," I said. I realized what I had said and looked at the ground. "Jaanta hoon ki tu mujhse bahut pyaar karti hain aur main bhi tujhse bahut pyaar karta hoon. Ab yeh sab baatein chod aur chal beth. Mujhe tujhe kahin special leke jaana hain," he said. "Kahan?" I asked. "Surprise hain," he said. "Phirse surprise?" I asked. "Haan, phirse surprise. Ab chal, beth ja," he said. I walked on the other side and sat on the bike. "Zaara zor se pakar kar bethna. Mumbai ki galia hain yeh," he said. I slowly put my hands on his shoulders and said, "Chale?" "Theek hain, chalo," he said and put on his helmet and started his bike.

I wanted to take her to my special place. I never shared it with any one but she was special. There was a bump coming up on the road and I could tell that Antara wasn't holding me tightly enough. "Antara, tight pakro na, nahi toh gir jao gi," I said. She didn't say anything, but I could feel her hold getting tighter. As we crossed over the bump, I could feel her hiding behind me. "Tu theek hain na?" I asked her. "Haan, main theek hoon. Waise hum jaa kaha re hain?" she asked. "Phirse wahi sawal. Bola tha na, surprise hain," I replied. "Tum itne surprises kaise plan karte ho?" she asked. "Mujhe surprises plan karna acha lagta hain. Khaas karke jab woh tumare liye ho," I said. "Mere liye kyun?" she asked. "Kyunki tum mere liye bahut special ho, issi liye," I said.

"Mere liye kyun?" I asked. I wanted to know why he had planned so much for me. "Kyunki tum mere liye bahut special ho, issi liye," he said. Special? I could feel my face turning red and I hid myself behind him once again. I don't think that any guy has made me feel this special ever. I was eager to know what his surprise was, when Raghu finally stopped his bike. "Tumne bike kyun rok di?" I asked. "Woh kya hain na, ki long drive ka plan surprise ke baad ka tha. Par agar tu abhi jaana chaati hain, toh I don't mind," he said. "Oh," I said and got off the bike. I looked around and saw that we were at a beach. "Toh yeh hain tumara surprise?" I asked. "Mera surprise yahan se thodi door hain," he said offering me his hand. I smiled and took his hand and we walked to the side of the beach. Raghu led me to a place near the beach where there were a whole bunch of rocks. "Yeh kya hain?" I asked. "Yeh meri favourite jaga hain. Jab bhi mera mood kisi baat par off hota tha ya mujhe tohdi der akela rehna hota tha, toh main hamesha yahin aata tha,"he said. "Par tum mujhe yahan kyun leke aaye ho?" I asked. "Maine aaj tak yeh jaaga kisi ke saath share nahi ki hain. Aaj tere saath ki hain," he said, while turning to look at me. "Kyunki tu mere liye bahut special hain, bahut." I could feel tears coming in to my eyes. "Saach?" I asked. He nodded his head and pulled me closer to him. "Saach," he replied. I rested my head on his chest and hugged him. I could still feel the tears in my eyes. They weren't because I was sad, but because I was so happy to have someone in my life that loved me so much. I pulled back from the hug and Raghu softly cupped my face. He slowly wiped away the tears and leaned in to give me a kiss on my forehead.
