Holaa DABH-Ians,🤗
Dekho na, SoorYa forced me to create this "hathoda" thread on "Be the Light".😲.
😆.

Above quote(in the siggie) by William Shakespeare (The Merchant of Venice) summaries the meaning of light for me. From my childhood days light has been a symbol of 'inspiration, hope and divinity.' I was always captivated to see how a diminutive candle fights the mammoth darkness all alone and always ended up triumphant. How happy was it to let itself burn but spread light in life of others. The image of god embedded in my heart is incomplete without the light spread by earthen lamp kept in front of the idol. It appeared that the tiny lamp has been given celestial powers by the god to be its messenger and save his children from the demon of darkness. My grandpa always used to tell me to be like that lamp - selflessly doing things for others but standing glorified with pride and honor..

During tough times in life, times when you're engulfed in pitch darkness not finding a way out, I always look for that tiny ray of light. That ray of light is more than enough for me to get up on my feet again and begin wrestling the darkness. That ray of light in my life is inspiration to 'work hard, to aim for success and the zeal to never say die'.
⭐️.

Life is an amalgam of good and bad, vices and virtues, knowledge and ignorance, the rich and the poor, the powerful and the weak and, light and darkness. One has to undergo one of the apexes to be able to recognize the other apex. For e.g. to realize the worth of light, darkness has to prevail for a while and then the light following it, even just a quantum of it is enough to get away with the darkness. In this way life teaches us not to give up during the times of despair considering it an end per se, but to look forward to that ray of hope which would again set the route ablaze and light up your life.😃.

Umm! Let's go thru following pictures to understand why we should "Be the Light" in other life just like SoorYa..

(Actually, It's a powerpoint presentation slides.. I created this presentation during my college days..😳.)

"There are two ways of spreading light:- To be the 'Candle' or The 'Mirror' that reflects it". - Edith Wharton.

Well, I would like to know the answers of following questions from all of you:-
What is the "significance of light" in your life?.
Who is the "light" of your life?.

fantastic post ami👏
you have preserved the college presentations 👍🏼

some quotes which i would love to share here

"If we are unwilling to be aware of the dark, we cannot see the light."

you live through the darkness from what you learned in the light

the light is always here but it must be revealed to us who identify with darkness

the joy after a period of darkness and struggle is greater than the peace of one who only basks in the light

Light is something which shows the direction , gives us a confidence to face the world which is filled by darkness (ignorance) you will be recognized as diamond only when light falls on you, before the wax in the candle melts and you perish remove the darkness from the life of others
be the light and enlighten others.

Lord Krishna is the light in my life.
he keeps guiding me through Bhagavad Gita
he time and again reminds me of my responsibilities and guides to me to my little bit for others .
To help others after they ask for is not what you are meant for in this world, you should help in the form of light which sneaks through a little hole and gives a ray of hope for a person in a dark room ,
actually there are lots of verses in bhagavat gita related to light and darkness i couldnt pick one to post it here

thanks for this wonderful post ami

What is the significance of light for me. For me light is not only that comes from Candle or Diya , but it is also a smile that I see in someone's face. My day is brightened when I see a smiling face. That's why I have in my room full of smiling faces of Lord Krishna 😃.
I have always felt that a smile can brighten up anyone's day. So give it and it doesnt cost you. When I simply smile and say a Good morning to the security in the morning at first they used to be startled, but now when they see me, they do tell GM with a smiling face. I feel happy and when I return it they too feel happy.
I make it a point to make an effort to bring smile to an individual, it doesnt matter if they are my family, relatives, collegeus and even members in this forum. On any day I would prefer people to read my posts and smile and feel happy. Somehow that happiness radiates to me too. You all know right whenever I feel the forum is too negative I try my best to put something positive.
So for me the biggest light is the smile we can spread to others.
Light of my life - my parents, my uncle and the most important my husband. 😃😃. I have always felt with my husband by my side I can reach the moon to be frank 😃😃.

Excellent post. For me when my marriage was fixed, I could only see darkness ahead. I was young, bubbly and had great ideas about exploring the world. Marriage to me meant an end to all those fantasies and dreams. However I was so so wrong. My husband proved to be the light in my life. He encouraged me to study further, gave me a shoulder to cry when I had my share of disappointments and was always there rock solid behind me. He made my fantasies come true and took me to visit many countries. Now not a day passes when I don't thank God almighty for giving me such a wonderful partner.

Wonderful hathoda Ami. Being unselfish, humble and service oriented is indeed what I would call being the light. If each us strove for ithat, the world would be a far brighter place.

I would pick my grandmother to be the kind of light that even after 20 years of passing, remains aglow in my heart and continues to awe and inspire me. She was married at 11. Had to go through untold challenges but brought light to every life she touched, I could write a book about her and it still will not be tribute enough.

@All:- Thanks a lot for such a praiseworthy compliments!

@Samah:- Eh! My puttar is growing up and up... Wonderful answers! You're also one of the "light" of my life.😳.

@Ramadi:- 🤗. I really loved your description on "light".. About to pick up verses from Bhagwad Gita then I'd pick up chapter 8 verse 25 or 26(not sure number..) which elaborates that these light and dark paths are beginningless and certainly as eternal as material universe..
Also chapter- 10,14 also contains good verses on the same.

@SrutiDi:- 😃😃😃.. Yeah you're right about "light"..Light has different purpose in everyone's life.. E.g, plants not possible to survive without light. I loved your attitude to spread "smile" in everyone's life no matter where you're..⭐️.
