Waiseee, both meena and vikram are fair skinned but Kanha is dark as hell. Why hasn't anyone thought that meena might has done some badtameezi and you know.. Had woogly with a dark skinned man? 😳

If Bhabhasa had not been dark, that question would have popped in everyone's head😆

In my community fair skin does matter, but gender takes precedence over skin color. If a boy is dark it is still tolerated, but for a girl if not fair skinned she has to listen to many taunts that too publicily. My SIL medium complexion and her hus is very fair. I have heard many people including my MIL telling umpteen times they never thought my SIL would get a husband like him. My SIL is educated and working. Another thing is her daughter is very fair like her father. People comment like anything that it is good that the child didnt get her mother's color.
I am fair, but when alliances came there were many people who told my fairness is not enough as it is not milky white. Still girls are taunted telling they are dark, though they are well educated and other wise smart.

I am confused actually what to vote... If I am considering majority... I think I would say no... But again it depends on different types of society... The society I live... Girls r welcomed just like boys... I never felt any kinds of gender discrimination around me specially with a new born child... And even when a dark child born... People r not unhappy... But when a fair child born... He /she grabs everyone's attention immediately...!!! Every body talks about how beautiful he/she turned out...!!! Everyone show their love more towards him/her...!!! I feel the excitement is missing in case of a dark child... Anyways I am voting no cause of the majority... Specially in rural areas I think sex which matter dont skin tone...

Its sad u know... Sex, skin tone... These things we dont get to choose for ourselves... But people are being judged by these things for ages in this world... And what we get to choose like manners, honesty, character ... Sometimes these dont matter at all..!!! Its really sad...

To me GENDER is the LAST thing that matters...but I would prefer a GIRL if GOD gives me the power for it

There is a OLD WIVES TALE that says..."WHEN A GIRL IS BORN, EVERYONE'S CELEBRATIONS IS SUBDUED THE HOUSE (structure) ITSELF celebrates it a lot BUT WHEN A BOY IS BORN EVERYONE'S CELEBRATION IS SKY-HIGH but THE HOUSE (structure) is a tad sad". The reasoning behind it is that...when the baby GIRL is born, the house is happy because the HOUSE knows that GIRL will take great care of it and one day will leave to live another place...but with baby BOY, the house does not know its future...Will the new boy take its care or destroy it or sell it or what not...

Also remember the best HUG a FATHER gets is always from his baby GIRL😊

As far as fairness is concerned, to me facial features are more important than fairness. If facial features are pleasing to eyes, then that trumps ALL other things.

^ I actually agree.. Black or white, kids are beautiful and adorable. Every kid deserves love, no matter how they look. To be honest, all that difference people put on boys and girl, fair and dark, its all shit. Bachche log zindabad!

Black or White. Male or Female should not matter. However society still does not have that open minded ness. wonder how many generations it will take to completely change the mindset.

Why do they still make products like white beauty and fairness cream. definitey does not help the mindset.
