Sandhya and Sooraj came to Ankur's house. Sandhya was very happy to see her bhaiya, bhabi and chutki. She took chutki in her arms and started playing with her. Ankita went to kitchen to get refreshments for them. While Ankur and Sooraj engaged in small talk
" Soorajji mein aapka shukriya ada karna chahta hoon ki aap Sandhya ki bahut madad karthe hain aur uska sapna poora karne mein uska saath de rahe hain"
" Ankurji is mein kaun si badi baat hai, aapki behen tho lakhon mein ek hai aur ye tho meri khus kismat hai ki mujhe woh mili"
Meanwhile Ankita came with refreshments and she took Chutki from Sandhya and asked her to take the refreshments.
Sooraj invited Ankur for Chavi's wedding and told them that they should definetly come. Ankur and Ankita were very happy to agree. Then Sooraj took Chutki and started playing with her. It didnt take Chutki long to gel with Sooraj and she started pulling his nose and ears. Ankita tried to take her, but Sooraj was enjoying playing with Chutki. Soon it was time for them to leave. When they got up, suddenly a neighbour came to Ankur's house and told them.
" Are darwaza band kijiye. Market mein kuch ghadbad hui hain or kuch log ne milkar poora market band kiya or rail or bus ko bhi rok rahe hain. Kahin math jayiye ab bahar nikalne wale par bhi pathar paika jayenga"
Hearing this Ankur switched on the TV. In the TV the news reader was mentioning that in the market community clashes has happened and whole city of Jaipur was tensed. All traffic is blocked in and out from the city. They warned the citizens not to get out of their homes till the situation is under control.
Ankur asked Sooraj to tell home that they cannot return that day because of the situation. Sooraj also know there was no other option and he called home and apprised them of the situation. Bhabo was relieved that they were still in Ankur's place as news regarding the riots had already reached Pushkar.
After dinner Ankita called Ankur aside and discussed something with him and then she called Sandhya.
" Sandhya tumhara kamra chota hain aur bisthar bhi single bed hain. Tum aur Soorajji hamare kamre mein raho, hum hall mein adjust kar lenge"
Sandhya was confused, she called Sooraj aside and spoke to him. They both decided it was not fair to ask Ankur, Ankita to sleep in hall especially because it would be inconvenient to Chutki.
Sandhya spoke to Ankita and Sooraj spoke to Ankur and told them they need not worry, they will adjust in Sandhya's room.
Finally they agreed and Ankita handed over 2 pillows to Sandhya. Now SURYA were in Sandhya's room. Both started thinking about sleeping arrangements and shared eyelocks.
Then Sandhya told " Sooraji aapko mein apne certificates, trophies sab dikhati hoon, aap baitiye"
Sooraj propped a pillow behind him, while Sandhya went and opened the cupboard. As she started taking out her certificates, trophies, one duppatta fell on the bed.
Sooraj took that, it was the same Magenta dupatta in which she had first seen her in the temple. As Sandhya turned with the certificates she saw Sooraj deep in thought with the dupatta in his hand
" Soorajji kya hua, kis soch mein pad gaye"
" Sandhyaji woh, yehi woh dupatta tha jismein maine aapko pehli baar mandir mein dekha tha. Yehi dupatta mere chehre pe pada tha"
"Kya ye dupatta.." then she remembered the day she had gone to buy sari for her bhabi, bought one for her, since she was unable to wear saree, finally decided to wear the salwar.
" Soorajji aapko pata hain, jis din mein mandir mein aayi thi, us din mein Vikram ke dukaan mein gayi thi. Aur wahan se bhabi aur mere liye saree bhi khareed thi, lekin mujhe saree pehna nahi aata tha aur meine suit pehn di"
" Kya tum Vikram ke dukaan mein.. then he trailed off as if trying to connect the dots
" Soorajji " saying this she sat next to him in the bed. Sooraj looked at her. He took the certificates from her hand and kept them on the bed and took both her hands in his and looked deep into her eyes. Sandhya blushed. Then he spoke in a soft husky voice
" Sandhyaji meine hamesa socha tha us shaadi ke card mein aapka naam kavitha ke jagah kaise aaya. Ab samaj mein aaya. Us din dukaan mein aapki ma ya bhabi ne aapka naam pukara hoga aur jo card liktha tha usne woh naam dulhan ka samajkar wahan likha hoga"
Sandhya looked at him and then put her head on his shoulders. Sooraj continued
" Sandhyaji aapko pata hain, jab aap mere saath us din mandir mein khadi thi, tho us waqt woh shaadi ka card jismein hum donom ka nam likha tha woh bhagwan ke samne tha. aur panditji ne kaha " jode par apna ashirvad banaye rakhna" " Sandhyaji us waqt hum donom ajnabi the, lekin bhagwan ke samne aise khade the, jaise ki pati-patni ho"
Sandhya looked at him and then again put her head on his shoulders and hugged him. He hugged her back. They started talking about their childhood, teenage and for the first time they shared with each other a lot about themselves. They never knew when they slept in each other's arms talking while the magenta dupatta lay spread in their laps.
