Thanks for the warm welcome back. I'm glad you liked my post and that it drove several of you to laughter! 😊
Mohit has pretty much confirmed that he does indeed have a secret girlfriend, by the way he reacted when Neetu's mother told everyone that she had seen him with a girl in Ajmer, and his behaviour when Bhabo asked him about it outside - by outright lying and saying that it was absolutely not true.
Seriously, he could have said that he had to go to Ajmer for work very recently and the girl he was seen with was a colleague or client or something like that. But no, he had to outright lie to Bhabo. Oh well, that's exactly what he has done a zillion times in the past, so why break his tradition now!
And he also kept with his greed tradition - the speed of his change in attitude towards visiting Neetu's family as soon as he found out they were rich (from "I'm-not-ready-for-marriage" to "I'll-be-ready-to-leave-in-a-moment") - he could give Usain Bolt a run for his money!!! Maybe Mohit just broke the world record for change-in-attitude-speed - someone, call the Guiness Book of Records, quickly! 😆
Seriously, Neetu is very lucky to have been rejected by Bhabo - this is the best possible thing for her and her family! Some of the Rathi family members are nice, but Neetu is very lucky to have missed out on joining that circus, especially being tied to Mohit! She has no idea how lucky she is!
@aasthanup, @Ayeshi and @UMDU - I really like your suggestions. In fact, I too think that Emily might be Mohit's secret girlfriend:
- She is from Ajmer and is the only new young female character to have been introduced recently, and it seems that she will be around for quite some time.
- Mohit has been spotted with a girl in Ajmer, and he knows the Ajmer entertainment scene quite well (remember how he accused Sooraj and Sandhya of going to the new multiplex? I bet that was one of his plans with his girlfriend!).
- Mohit really wanted to go to Ajmer with Chavi and Dilip's family for their relative's engagement function, and he was incredibly upset when Bhabo made Sooraj go with Chavi instead of him. At the time, I thought he was pissed off because Bhabo had accused him of not being responsible enough for looking after his sister and had praised Sooraj's sense of responsibility and sent him instead, and then they found out that Sooraj had left Chavi in Ajmer to come back to Pushkar for enrolling Sandhya in college. BUT, it now really looks like he might have been more upset because he didn't get to see his girlfriend!
- The night he was chatting/talking on the phone with his (presumed) girlfriend was the night when Sandhya and Emily's night college class was cancelled, and Sandhya and Sooraj were back in the house at that time - so we know that Emily would have also been free and should have reached her home by then. She would have been able to chat/talk to him then!
If they do go down the inter-religion marriage route then it will be really interesting to see how Bhabo reacts. She already dislikes Emily after Emily told her some home-truths in her income tax officer guise (way to go, girl - I loved what Emily told Bhabo - it all made perfect sense to me!), so getting over that would be difficult enough. Bhabo wholeheartedly accepted Brandon - a young Mexican, Christian, gay man - as her adopted son, but he wasn't about to live in their home forever, and we have seen that she has very different attitudes towards girls and boys (and even between girls with different relationships to her, like her own daughter and daughters-in-law), so who knows how this will turn out!
It will be interesting to see how this Mohit-has-a-girlfriend track goes. Maybe now that Sooraj and Sandhya will be going to Ajmer for their "honeymoon", they might run into/see Mohit and Emily together - now that would be highly amusing!!!
PS. Emily seems pretty cool - if she is Mohit's girlfriend, how on Earth can she stand him?! I guess he has really made himself look cool in her eyes (with his job, etc) and obviously told her nothing about his family or where he lives. Imagine the poor girl's shock when she finds out the whole truth!
PPS. Just for laughs, what if Mohit's girlfriend is not Emily, but is in fact Pappu the cabbie's beloved Dolly!? Poor Pappu! I'm just being silly - for Dolly and Pappu's sake, this better just be my silly suggestion and not the truth! 😆
